One day, a fellow gamer once told me, "Even if you have a SSS character, they'll be useless in the hands of a newbie."
Now, soaring through the sky in this ruined city, I couldn't agree more. I watched One Strike pathetically attempting to land a hit on a centaur but ending up trampled by them.
Do summoned creatures even have health points? I mean, he was trampled by not one but a horde of centaurs for a good five minutes, and he still looked fine.
Although, he looked utterly pathetic.
Man, that SSS skill seemed pretty useless with my limited knowledge. I decided to check my stats after the buff, and things had definitely improved:
----------------------------------------------------
[Player name: Seth]
[LvL: 7]
[HP: 620]
[MP: 100/140 + 50]
[ATK: 198 + 170]
[Killing Points: 9400]
----------------------------------------------------
[Class: Ranger]
[Attributes:]
[Strength: 72, Agility: 94, Defense: 47, Stamina: 81, Intelligence: 126]
----------------------------------------------------
Not bad at all. I felt much lighter and more agile, making it easier to dodge attacks. My damage output was incredible too.
I approached a group of centaurs from a high vantage point since I was still flying. They tried to shoot me with arrows, but I nimbly dodged their shots.
"Triple Bullet," I said, and the three of them fell. Afterward, I picked off the rest with regular attacks, and they all met their doom.
Beside my level had increased, my skill also improve. All the skills with my weapon were now at level 3, while my regular skills were still at level 2, mostly because I rarely used them.
I glanced at One Strike, who was back on his feet, waiting for my next command. I couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor guy.
"Just take care of the regular goblins," I instructed.
Off he went, hunting down goblins and taking one out. Before things could get out of hand with a horde of goblins, I had to turn away.
This part of town was sheer chaos, likely due to the effects of The Prince of Chaos. What a name, indeed.
I could see Matthias flying about, wielding his crazy skill that mowed down monsters like a heavy machine gun.
He had fiery orbs rotating behind him, releasing fireballs that decimated the horde of creatures.
His demeanor was borderline psychotic, his villainous laughter punctuating each monster's demise.
And then there was Gideon, looking like God of Thunder, wielding his claymore with electrifying thunder. A loud scream and a thunderstorm would rain down near him, turning everything around him into ashes.
Damn! What a skill!
I tried to spot Jayden, but the little guy was a master of stealth as an Assassin. Yes, that caught me off guard too.
Not only players that become chaotic, also monsters affected by The Prince of Chaos. I saw two really massive dinosaurs fighting with their head and long neck.
Fucking hell! They were wild with all of them bleeding from every part of their head.
As I remember from watching Dinasour Park movie, that dinosaur usually peaceful, they were also herbivor. But look at them now, trying to kill each other, banging each other's heads.
Well, I had no complaints because this was my chance to take one of them down.
My "Inferno Blast" found its target in one dinosaur's head, blowing it to pieces and bringing the creature down.
Holy shit! How come my attack on the Goblin Lord's eyes didn't blow its head?
The other dinosaur attempted to attack me, swinging its head menacingly. However, I had honed my flying skills and deftly dodged the beast's assault. It hit the skyscraper instead.
I could see the skyscraper destroyed as the ruin fell into the ground and hit another monster. That was indeed bad luck for them.
I knew that I had to wait for my skill cooldown to finish to take down this one as well.
But then, an unexpected attack hit me. Fire needles struck my shoulder and hand, burning my skin. I yanked out the needles in pain.
It might be a small magic scale, but it hurts as hell. Probably because of the fire, my skin was burning and it stings so much.
As I was busy with the needle, suddenly I was hit by a different magic – a ball of wind that sent me tumbling backward.
Fuck! What the hell was that!
As I winced in pain, I could see a bunch of fairy laughing at me. That fairy might be beautiful with all the colorful dress and hair, but darn it, they were vicious.
In response, I whispered, "Triple bullet," taking down one of them, but the rest evaded my attacks easily, thanks to their small size and agility.
My "Enhanced Perception" helped me track them down, and I took out two more. They retaliated with the same skill, but my nimbleness allowed me to dodge their attacks as I flew backward.
After a struggle, I managed to defeat all of them and breathed a sigh of relief. I needed to hunt down the remaining dinosaur before it disappeared.
I soon found it, a gigantic creature that was hard to miss. With another Inferno Blast, I ended its life. It was my last kill of the day, as The Prince of Chaos' buff had worn off, and my mana was nearly depleted.
As I landed on a building to catch my breath, the system's announcement came through.
[The game is now timed out!]
[Congratulations to all players who achieved 1000 killing points or more; check your rewards in the mailbox!]
Ahh finally I could rest for a little bit. I looked at the killing points in my status, damn it was 20.500! It must be because all of my party members become chaotic and crazy.
[Now the colony's barrier will return momentarily.]
[After this game, the colony barrier will provide safety for all players. No killing is allowed within the barrier.]
[While outside the barrier, you can hunt and level up!]
Of course the players couldn't kill in the colony barrier? I mean there were no monsters there. I couldn't understand what the system meant.
[We're excited to introduce you to mini-games!]
[Certain parts of the city will host these mini-games, with locations and rewards indicated on the map.]
[Stay tuned for the next big game, set to arrive in 30 days!]
[Enjoy your mini-game adventures!]
[Adios!]
What a nightmare. Well at least that mini-games were not obligatory. I could relax for now.
But I wonder what kind of game that would happen in 30 days and why it needs a long time to start. Because that's really suspicious.
Deep in thought, I was suddenly jolted by a voice behind me, "Umm... Seth."
I clutched my chest, my heart racing, as I spun around to find Jayden standing there. He really should've given me a heads-up; he almost gave me a heart attack!
