Chereads / Apocalyptic World: I've Got The Second System / Chapter 19 - Eggventure Rally!

Chapter 19 - Eggventure Rally!

Matthias today jokingly mentioned, "Pass under the ladder, and you'll have bad luck." It seemed like a ridiculous superstition, until it happened to me.

Yes, Matthias I believe in you now and I know for sure if I told you this, you would definitely laugh at me.

Because today I killed a man.

From the mountain's peak, I gazed upon a lifeless body, the victim of my actions, as the system announced:

[You receive 5000 killing points and 250 EXP for eliminating a player]

[Player killing count: 1 player]

[Kill as many players as you can to receive hidden rewards]

Fucking hell!

It all began a couple of hours ago, right as I stepped out of the cottage. Accidentally, I passed under the ladder Gideon had set up to repair the window.

"Congratulations, you've sealed your bad luck for the rest of the day. Or maybe longer," Matthias chimed in, his laughter filling the air.

I furrowed my brows and grumbled, "That's just a silly superstition," before moving on, only to trip over a loose shoelace.

"Bad luck number one," Matthias declared, irritating me to no end.

"It's just a shoelace. Happens all the time," I protested as I bent down to fix it, I really need a new shoes that didn't have a shoelace in it!

"Oh yeah? I saw you tie that shoelace really tight. Odd that it came undone, don't you think?" Matthias patted my shoulder with an annoying grin.

I rolled my eyes and continued walking with him to the market. It was busy as usual with many street vendors and players.

Suddenly, a black cat leaped right in front of me, causing me to startle and halt in my tracks.

"Another one? You should've stayed home," Matthias chuckled.

"It's just a cat, Matthias. Enough with these stupid superstitions. They're not real!"

Then, thunder rumbled so loudly that everyone in the vicinity stopped what they were doing. I had to admit, it was unusual considering the clear weather we'd had all day.

"Even the heavens disagree with you," he said again, laughing heartily.

What the hell, why was he so happy about all of this? Man, I have a bad feeling for some reason. But it was probably because of what stupid Matthias said to me.

It was just superstition! It was not real at all. I live in the modern world - even when that world is in the middle of the apocalypse now. I shouldn't be falling for such nonsense!

After deciding to part ways with Matthias, I headed toward the mini-games located near the colony. The map showed it was just about 100 meters away.

But for some reason, I couldn't find it anywhere. Could it be underground or hidden like an underground station?

Frustrated, I ventured towards one of the underground station, only to discover that the game had already started.

Damn! I've been searching that place for like ten minutes! The most annoying of all was what Matthias said, engraved in my mind and echoed like crazy!

Fuck you Matthias.

I gave up the search and decided to wander around in hopes of stumbling upon one of the mini-games. Thankfully, luck was on my side, and I found one.

There was no one around, but there was an electronic board with instructions:

[Welcome to Eggventure Rally]

[Game difficulty: 2 stars]

[Requirements: In this game, players must race to a designated location while deciphering two clues, with one provided every 1 hours.]

[Each participant carries a basket with a single egg, and on their journey, they encounter eggs of various colors, each offering different rewards.]

[Collect the eggs with the best rewards within your limited basket space, while allowing for plundering from other participants.]

[Limitations: In this mini-game, all skills are deactivated, except for normal attacks, and players can use weapons and maintain their passive skills.]

[Rewards: Based on the eggs you collect]

[Time remaining: 3 hours]

Seriously? Wasn't this like some kind of Easter egg game? I sighed and massaged my temples. I thought the mini-game would be harder than this!

I mean look at the last mini-game I played! That one was practically a boss battle if it were in a regular game. It felt like I was being cheated.

Although in this game plundering was allowed, it must be a chaotic battle though. But because my weapon was a firearm, wasn't this a good game for me?

Decided then, let's play this mini-game.

Stepping into the game, I felt my body being transported in an utterly bizarre way. It was as if I were being sucked into some sort of black hole.

It makes me nauseated.

When I finally opened my eyes, I found myself amidst a gathering of players on what seemed to be a tropical island.

My feet were in the water, suggesting that we were near an ocean. I also noticed a basket with a blue ribbon and lace, complete with an egg, floating nearby.

Grabbing it, I realized that I was wearing nothing but boxer shorts and I'm glad because I could felt my short sword still in my waist.

Well, at least I was grateful for this changed of clothes because of the hot weather, but it seemed that everyone else was dressed similarly. The women were donning bikinis.

In the distance, I could hear the sound of a woman's voice. As in the edge of the forest were two women wearing bikinis with big boobs. They said something that I couldn't quite hear. So I decided to get close to them.

"Hello everyone, Mimi here and my sister Mini." said the two of them, hugging each other with big boobs bouncing here and there.

That was weird. But of course many men seem to enjoy it.

Mimi was a blonde girl with red eyes, a beautiful combination with that sexy body and right curves, whereas Mini has black hair and red eyes. Her boobs were a little bit smaller, but it was a really good size to be grasped by hands.

"I know you already know the game rules! But here I will tell you something more!"

"This is a dinosaur island!"

I could hear the sound of flying dinosaurs approaching, those massive creatures that could soar through the skies. I didn't know what they were called, but I already hated this place.

Come on! What's wrong with these dinosaurs!? Why the hell were they everywhere?

"Now that we have enough players, let's start the game! Your objective is to collect as many eggs as possible and make your way to the designated location."

"And don't forget, you can plunder eggs from other players! Right, Mini?" Mimi said, jumping around with her provocative display while Mini simply nodded.

What a fan service.

"Let the games begin!"

With that, I sprinted towards the island as fast as my legs could carry me. Plundering had already begun, as I witnessed a player forcibly taking eggs from another.

This egg, I would protect it with my whole life!

Not far from where I stood, I saw a cluster of eggs in a nest. It suddenly dawned on me that all these eggs players needed to collect were dinosaur eggs.

How did I know this? Because players were gathering to take these eggs, only to be confronted by angry dinosaur mothers who swiftly crushed them.

Luckily, the dinosaurs seemed to target only those players who dared to steal their eggs.

But still, what the hell!

Now, I question myself, why would in that film many people ever want to visit a remote island filled with dinosaurs running around?

Like Goddess, Where in the world was it a good idea to trapped dinosaurs in one place and call it a day!?
