Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Hey can I ask you something?

The young man with the blue hair was actually Jerard Geon. And he was the second heir to the Geon family head position after his older brother. He was still in the early stages of learning his family's body strengthening techniques but he was a genius nonetheless.

He had always been respected and he had never in his life been disrespected like this moment.

"How dare you call me a blueberry head and how dare you even try to fight me!" he shouted with disdain

"Shut up!" I dashed at Jerard closing the distance between as very quickly and I threw out a punch.

Jerard reacted by crossing his arms before him. The moment my blow landed his eyes widened. The power of the punch actually pushed him back a few meters before he came to a halt.

'Did I just get pushed back?' he thought to himself as he looked at me.

If it was at any other moment, I too would have been surprised by the amount of power that I just displayed but I was too consumed by anger to notice anything.

"You actually dare! Do you know who I am!" Jerard shouted. "I am Jerard Geon. I refused to be humiliated like this!"

"Damn…" I spoke under my breath. "Rich people really are pricks"

Veins threatened to pop on the side of his temple as he charged at me. He rapidly punched at me and it was as if a large bombardment of fists were heading my way.

I couldn't tell which one the real fist and which one was not. I tried to block the fists coming at my left but I ended up hitting empty air instead. Soon I felt two powerful blows land at the side of my chest.

The power of each blow causing mayhem in that region. I was pushed back. A distance longer than the distance Jerard was pushed back the first time.

I was angry yes and I was ready to take this guy on in a fight. The only apparent problem with that was that I didn't have any technique or skill when it came to fighting, in fact this could be said to actually be my very first fight.

Jerard on the hand, lowered his body in a stance which clearly meant he knew what he was doing and he most certainly had the strength to fight.

It was no exaggeration in the slightest to say that I was at a complete disadvantage.

'Am I really gonna lose?' I said internally as I saw Jerard move.

Jerard was already before me, he punched out aiming for my face but I managed to lower my head, ducking below his arm.

That was a mistake on my part because Jerard immediately threw out his knee.

Crack!

The sound of something breaking reverberated across the room. And I heard loud gasps around us making me realize that I was still in the cafeteria. That hardly mattered though because I felt the room spin as I staggered backwards only for a fist as hard as a brick to smash into my face. I barely registered that my nose was broken when another fist smashed the side of my cheek.

Another crack resounded and I could feel my already broken nose forcefully shift position again. Pain sparking in my brain. And again before I could register another fist landed, and then another and another.

They kept on coming again and again like freight trains and my nose was broken even further. At some point I felt myself land on the ground and this time a series of kicks landed on my body.

The front of his foot landed in my ribs and another crack resounded. A pain reverberated throughout my body. A pained yell escaped my lips.

Images of last night in the woods with demon Charlotte flashed through my mind as well.

'Why am I so helpless this time too' I thought painfully. 'Same as last time. I'm completely hopeless'

As these thoughts negative thoughts came in my head one after another, something within me shifted. The all familiar feeling as an energy swirled around my body.

"Argh!" the energy flowed to my fist as I threw it out to meet Jerard's incoming foot.

Another crack resounded as foot met fist.

This time contrary to the expectations of the spectators, it was actually Jerard who was rolling on the ground as he held his leg, it seemed limp.

Heh, serves you right asshole. I felt mentally exhausted for some reason and my vision faded away I saw Jordan's blurry image coming towards me.

2 hour later I awoke with my body hurting all over. The pain was so intense that I let out a groan.

"You have a habit of making people worry you know that?" a soft voice resounded beside me. I recognized it immediately as Lydia

I didn't react that much though. "Where's Billy?" I asked instead

"On you left" Lydia said and as I tried to tilt my head I felt my entire body ache in protest. I winced.

"And Jordan?"

"He went him to class" she replied as she looked at me intently.

"What about you? Won't you go to class?"

"I honestly don't need to"

"Being rich must give you the power to even ditch classes without any consequences huh" I joked lightly. But in turn all I got was silence.

"On a scale of one to ten how moppy was he?" I asked again knowing full well that my friend may have caused a scene after my passing out.

"I think that scale is too small to measure it" Lydia replied with a bitter smile causing me to chuckle a little before I went silent for a moment.

"…what about Jerard won't he receive treatment?" I asked once more

"He went home and will probably be back tomorrow. And besides he'll probably be healed by in less than two hours"

"Like hour you healed your ankle?" I probed further.

"Your really annoying you know that?"

I laughed but soon regretted it as the pain travelled throughout my body once more.

Silence seemed to fall in the room for  moment. She seemed lost in her thoughts but I was also lost in my. Then at the same time

"Hey can I ask you something?" we both asked in unison

And for a moment we both stared at each other in bewilderment.
