Jordan's words shocked me to the core. What was going on?
This day was becoming more and more confusing.
"Never mind that. Can you take care of her bike while I take her to the infirm?" I requested to which he immediately nodded.
"Thanks. See you later!"
The girl in my arms pouted at the turn of events. I chuckled as I looked at her.
She's cute, I thought.
The next moment I was moving through the hallways with a girl who buried her head in my chest. Her entire face was as red as a tomato.
Ignoring the weird looks I received, I proceeded to make my way down the hallways, took a turn somewhere and finally arrived before a metallic door and lightly knocked.
"Coming!" I heard a voice from behind the door followed by the sound of something crushing before the door opened.
A woman in her early thirties stepped out. She had blonde curly hair, deep crystal blue eyes, small lip, glimmering white skin, she had a certain innocence to her that gave her an angel like appearance. She wore a white long coat and a black skirt.
"Hey nurse Camille" I greeted. "She fell off a bike"
"What! Get in here quick" she immediately ordered. I entered her office…or rather the infirmary.
There was a tray lying on the floor. Probably what I heard crashing to the ground a few moments earlier. There were five beds on one end of the room that were separated by sheets hanging from the ceiling. A stationary desk lay across from the series of beds with a clipboard and papers stacked on top. Above the table and hanging on the wall was a white cupboard-like structure.
"You can set her down on the bed love" Nurse Camille spoke as she approached the cupboard. Immediately she took out a first aid box and a pair of white gloves.
I place the girl gently on the bed. After I set her down, I looked at the figure of the girl lying on the bed. My gaze couldn't help but linger for a moment as I appreciated the view.
Yes she was injured but that didn't make her any less attractive and give her position on the bed where she lay on her back and her arms above her head, I couldn't help but let my imagination run wild.
Camille came back with a pair of scissors I stepped to the side, giving her space. She was about to use the pair of scissors to cut her pants open to make the treatment on her thigh easier but before she could the girl shouted abruptly.
"Wait! The pervert goes!" she demanded.
"Oh come on!" I whined
"Out you go young man" Camille pushed me towards the door while I spoke out many excuses all of which were ridiculous and all of which were ignored.
Not even a minute later I was back in the hallway and the infirmary door closed shut behind me.
I looked and could only sigh.
'What a waste of a perfectly good show'
…
Classes proceeded like normal but this uncomfortable feeling of being watched from all sides was really smoldering.
'Come on guys all I did was carry a girl who was hurt! What's with these stares!' I internally screamed. The eyes of almost everyone were locked on me. Especially the guys who admired and adore the girl I carried who from the conversations I heard was called Lydia Smart.
Apparently she was the third and last daughter of the Smart family. Yes she was from one of the four richest families in this town.
In this seemingly small but at the same time large town called York Town there were four main prominent families.
The Smart family, Indigo family, Gaia family and Geon family
I don't know the specifics of what they do but what I do know is that they are filthy rich and they hold the real power in this town. But these aren't the only rich fellows in our town though as there are others and as mom always says most of them really are pricks.
Still even while knowing all this Lydia didn't seem all that bad. In fact she seemed to have a fiery personality and not an overbearing one.
I chuckled as I remembered the way Lydia shouted to get me out of the infirmary.
"Mr. Coleman"
Oh shoot. Its seems I chuckled a little too loudly
"Oh do you find anything to be particularly funny this morning for you laugh during my class!" this was right I was in Mr. Wendall's class (you guys remember him from chapter 1 right?...right?!)
"Uh…nothing sir" I replied while clearing my throat slightly.
My answer seemed to have annoyed the man a little bit as I received a glare that had me shrinking in my seat.
I thought I was going to receive to receive detention but surprisingly he turned around and just merely continued on with the lesson…not that I'm complaining.
…
Meanwhile in the infirmary
A girl with dark flowing hair and emerald green eyes lay on a bed with her ankle wrapped in a bandage. She had her eyes closed and she wore a slightly annoyed expression on her face.
'Dammit that bastard I swear I won't let this go' she said internally but then an image of her injured self being carried by Huey flashed I her mind.
Her cheeks immediately flared up. Turning a scotching red. She vigorously shook her head
'Think of something else. Think of something else. Think of something else' she repeated to herself like a mantra. It was at that moment that a thought entered her mind.
A few seconds before he dodged her bike she felt him use a subtle amount of mana for a moment. Same as when she found him being attacked by that demoness last night.
Her eyes flashed opened.
'I need to check for myself'
With that the bracelet on her wrist glowed as she concentrated a small amount of mana into it. The flash only appeared for a moment before she a tiny bottle with blue liquid inside appeared in her had.
This was a low grade healing potion that her family provided every six months to her and her sisters.
'To think I'd have to use it like this' she thought to herself. 'And I just got this too'
She drank the liquid and immediately felt a warm sensation on her injured ankle. The potion bottle disappeared from her hand and was once again in her spatial bracelet.
With that she got out of the bed with a goal in mind.
To meet Huey.
…
Time seemed to flow smoothly toward lunch. Soon the bell rang and students were swarming the hallways, heading towards the cafeteria, including myself. I managed to meet up with Jordan at the door and he merely wriggled his eyebrows at me playfully.
"What dude?" I asked him feeling slightly annoyed at his antics
"You gonna tell me who that hottie was?" he asked knowingly
"No!"
"Dude come on man" he wrapped his arm around my shoulder as we got in line to receive our food. "How can you leave me in the dark like this?"
"I haven't left you out of anything yet" I replied curtly while looking forward and feigning to ignore him.
"Oh so it hasn't happened 'yet' now has it?" he was emphasizing on my choice of words as he continued to pester me.
"I already told you" I said for the nth time as we set ourselves at our usual table.
"Dude you carrying a girl is not something to play around with" Jordan said
I could only grit my teeth as he talked on and on about the value of the bro code and how you should never keep a girl a secret from you bros.
Luckily he didn't talk about it for long and soon fifteen minutes passed.
"Mmmh, is Billy ever this late?" I asked Jordan who had is full attention on his plate. He paused for a moment before saying:
"I mean usually here by now so I'm not sure what's going on" he eventually replied before his head seemed to freeze behind. Staring intently at me.
"What? Is something on my face?" I asked as I also froze. Jordan only shook his head before pointing a finger behind me.
I turned around curiously as was stuck in a daze for a moment.
A familiar girl with flowing black hair and emerald green eyes was walking towards us. She had changed from the bikers output and was putting on a light pink blouse and a blue skirt. It would seem as though Lydia Smart had recovered.
