The Black Knight stopped the shot with his hand. He threw the arrow to the side and turned around to face Athena.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
He had both hands on her shoulders. His face was twisted with concern. Athena had never seen this side of him. He looked genuinely worried.
"I'm alright, I-" Athena winced a little.
The impact of the arrow definitely left a bruise. She turned back to ensure Consort Eliana was alright.
"You saved me, thank you," Eliana replied as she held onto Athena's arm.
"Consort Eliana, we need to get you to safety," A royal guard came forward to rush her.
Consort Eliana left with them. King Orion had also been rushed away to safety. It was utter chaos. Athena turned to look back at the tree.
The culprit was long gone. In all of the chaos, the assassin fled without leaving a trace.
