"Thank you for taking care of her for me," the Black Knight's voice cut through her thoughts.
She flinched, dropping the reins. But Athena quickly recomposed herself.
"You're welcome. You fought well," She added.
"Did I scare you?" He asked. His voice was filled with concern.
"What? No, why would you say that?" She played it off with a short laugh.
What puzzled her more was why he was concerned with the way she saw him. Why would her opinion of him matter so much?
"Black Knight! Black Knight!" A woman's voice called out to him.
Athena looked over his shoulder to see an older woman with a small child in her arms walking towards them. As she got closer, she noticed the woman was covered with scars all over her arms. The small child could not have been more than three years old.
When the woman got to the Black Knight, she immediately got down on her knees.
