"Make sure not to hit the face too much"
Another fist collided with Mathew's stomach. Once again Matthew lurched forward, the air being knocked out of him.
"*Cough Cough* Please...*Cough* no more..." Matthew pleaded, barely able to get the word's out of his mouth.
"What was that? You said you want more?" The boy in front of him asked.
This time, a foot was what had struck Matthew, hitting his chest and sending him back forcefully into the brick wall behind him.
"Haah, this is getting boring now Tyson, let's go for the day. A friend just lent me some money so we could have a good time." Another boy waved a handful of cash in front of Matthew. "Thanks Buddy, I owe you one. Or... was it a present that I don't have to pay you back for?" The other boy asked.
"O-of course it was a p-present. D-don't worry about it Gary," Matthew said sheepishly. He didn't care about the money that had been stolen from him moments before the beating he had received. Whatever got him away from the violence that they poured out on him was worth doing.
"Thanks Man! I appreciate it," Gary said, as he started walking away, arm slung around the shoulder of a girl.
The group of delinquents led by the brute known as Gary all left, leaving Matthew in a heap on the floor, covered in bruises.
.
.
Matthew dragged himself home. Bruises covered his torso, each one aching as he moved.
As he entered through his door, he heard the sound of his mother humming to herself as she was cooking in the kitchen.
"Matthew, is that you honey?" She called out. "I've just started cooking dinner so it'll be a while before it's ready!"
"I-I'm not hungry Mum, me and my friends went out to eat just before I got home," Matthew lied, trying to avoid his mother.
Matthew lived alone with his Mother and didn't want her seeing the state he was in.
"I think I'm just gonna crash for the night. Long day at school and I'm pretty tired," he called out and moved upstairs to his room.
"Ok Honey, I'll make some extra for your lunch tomorrow though," She called back and Matthew closed the door to his bedroom, slumping onto his bed, and fell asleep.
.
.
"So, that's him?"
"Yes Sir. That's the boy. Matthew Kaido. 16 years old, 152cm tall, 74kg in weight. 1/2 Japanese, 1/2 Australian. Son of Mary and Daichi Kaido. Father deceased, lives alone with his Mother. No special talents, no friends, no extended family. No skills in anything. No achievements whatsoever. The only thing remarkable about him is the fact that he hasn't taken his own life, despite all the things that happen to him daily. Constantly bullied by his peers, overlooked by his teachers, the only one that cares about him is his own Mother, and she has no idea about what's happening to him."
"Hmm... I think I'll give it to him. Make it happen Charles."
"Yes Sir, right away."
Charles placed the file on the desk and walked out of the office he was in.
"Matthew Kaido, huh?" The man in the chair asked himself. "This boy is going to do some remarkable things starting today, hope he's ready."
.
.
The wind blew against Matthew's face.
'I thought I had closed the window?' He thought to himself as he stretched out his arm to close it. His eyes suddenly opened as his hand didn't touch the wooden frame of the window, but the blades of grass that he found himself surrounded by.
The field of grass that was around him was covered in flowers of different colors, though he had recognized none of them.
"*Achoo* Where in the world am I?" Matthew asked himself, wrapping his arms around his shoulders, shivering. He then looked down at his body. "And why the hell am I naked?"
As he began to wonder what had happened to him, A notification box that looked like it was out of a game appeared in front of his face.

Matthew gawked at the screen before him, unable to determine if he was dreaming, high, or even both.
"What is going on?" He asked himself as he struggled to get to his feet.
Matthew looked down to his body, and to his surprise, had none of the bruises that were previously covering his body.
"Huh, would you look at that." He said, as he began to scope out his surroundings.
He could not see anything out in the distance in front of him. Behind him was a forest of thick trees.
"Yeah, No. There's no way I am heading into the scary looking forest.

Slowly, Matthew made his way towards the trees, readying himself for what was to come.
