Chapter 27 - Don't Waste Bullets!

"He's asking for ten SP and it looks like he isn't going to budge. Also, he says that he's giving me a discount only because he considers me a friend.", he said as walked down the stairs with Betty behind him.

"Ten huh... I have enough to buy it but is it worth it?", she asked but Larcen simply shrugged.

"You are going to spend the same amount on a stat pill so I don't really get why you are complaining."

"Fine.... but how do I pay him?"

"I'll buy it for you and you can simply buy it from me in return. If he listed it in the shop and someone else buys it, I'm sure that you would regret it."

"Alright, buy it for me. I know how to hotwire bikes so we should be good."

He nodded when he heard her and acted like he was busy texting the Larcen he had made up for a few seconds before turning his head to look at Betty who was standing beside him.

"Give me the SP first.", he demanded and she did what he asked her to. Placing her hand in his, she transferred the 10 SP to him before withdrawing her hand.

A bike appeared in front of them a few seconds later and she looked impressed as she gawked at the bike before even touching it. While she hotwired it, he placed his hand on the seat before scanning it.

'Hmm... 10SP for this bike huh.', mused as he stared at his system screen. He replicated one just in case and saw his SP drop by ten. He didn't feel too much as he knew he would make a lot more soon.

He switched to the shop before staring at the number below the skill chest, which said (19/100)

'.... so tempting but I'll refrain. Replication slot is more important right now so I'll just grind SP for the Skill chest.', he thought as he closed the screen, only to see Betty excitedly jumping on the bike.

"Hop on!", she said as she turned to look at him.

He nodded and did what she told him to before speaking, "Where are we going by the way?"

"Hehe, we will be going towards the center. This will be a target practice for you and I am also kinda curious about this black tower that suddenly fell."

Larcen's uneasy feeling just got stronger when he heard her but he was also curious about something. But unlike her, he wanted to know about the kind of monsters at the center as he had a feeling that only the weak ones patrolled farther.

"Alright...", he muttered as he pulled out the magazine and put his hand into his pocket before taking the bullets out. He deleted the bike from the replication slot this time and scanned the bullets before replicating them.

{You have successfully created .22 HP round x1000}

While Betty switched gears and began speeding up, Larcen was frowning while he looked at his screen.

'Each magazine has 28 bullets and I made 100 of them. That means a total of 2800 bullets but this time, I only made 1000. Is this a stacking limit or something?', he thought as he opened the trade terminal and listed all of his bullets under an alias he just made up.

One second later, the contents in the terminal updated.

{

.22 Hollow Point bullets x1000 : 10 SP

}

He could only read it once as it vanished the next second while his SP rose up by 10.

'Wow.... it's a great way to make money but if I do it often, people will get used to it. I should sell stuff for a higher price next time if possible. That aside, it's time to confirm if my theory is right or wrong...', he mused as he took off his bag and placed it between him and Betty.

Opening the zipper, he touched the box of bullets and scanned it before taking out the machete. He then closed the zipper before putting the bag back on.

He then replicated the box of bullets and the message simply confirmed his suspicions.

{You have successfully created a box of .22 HP rounds x30}

'Hah, I was right. Each box consists of 100 bullets so 30 boxes mean 3000 bullets. This makes more sense now... a stacking limit huh?'

"Oy Jack! Goblins ahead!", she said urgently hitting his chin with the back of her head when he did not respond even after she called him two times.

"Fuck you!", he exclaimed in pain but he still pushed the magazine into the pistol before aiming at them and shooting.

He emptied his magazine in one go but some of them weren't hit while some of them were still alive. Before Betty could steal his precious SP though, he pulled out a magazine from his chest rig as he jumped off the bike that was stopped with his machete held between his teeth.

He ran towards the goblins as he pulled off the empty magazine and inserted a new one before holding the machete properly with his main hand. Bullets were shot as he continued to run but once he was twenty meters from them, he pushed it into the strap on his thigh before putting all of his energy into his legs.

His speed almost doubled as dashed towards the remaining two goblins and swiftly beheaded one of them while pulling out his knife and stabbing the neck of the other. He then looked at all of the fallen goblins before checking if they were dead or alive with his inspection skill.

'Yup, shooting without aiming is much more efficient. These bullets are cheap after all....', he thought while the girl behind him got off her bike and walked towards him.

"That was pretty impressive.... it would've been better if only you didn't waste so many bullets.", she said frowning but Larcen simply gave her a sheepish smile.

"Ahaha, it was fun."

"Tch, you'd only understand the pain I am feeling right now if you actually paid for the bullets you're using so freely.", she said, looking at him angrily.
