When I wake up again, I see a woman sitting in my room. There is a smell in the air. A perfume, a very distinct one, with traces of wild roses in it. I know this smell. It's almost dark, but I can make out some features of the woman. She has a similar build to mine, taller, her dark hair is tied in a bun at the top of her head, and she wears an A-line dress with full sleeves.
"What are you doing here?" My throat aches a little when I speak, but that's it. When I try to sit, I realize that the body ache is completely gone. I feel better. Much better than I expected.
"How do you feel now, honey?"
I glare at Aunt Josette and make a face I know she hates. "You didn't answer my question. What are you doing here?"
"I have come to see you, and to talk to you." She turns her chair and sits directly in front of me. Behind her, through the open window, I see the lamp posts have been lit. It's night. I wonder how long have I been sleeping.
