Going down to check on the woman, Redd quickly noticed that the woman's body had been abused beyond imagination. Every bone in her body was broken and those that were intact were twisted to a horrifying degree she seemed to have been lacerated with a sharp object. It was a terrifying sight by all means.
This wasn't the first time Redd had seen someone dead in his life. Blue Elephant Island was a place filled with savage animals that would attack any human that they found.
The village had many casualties throughout Redd's life and he even had to retrieve some of their bodies himself because he knew the forest the best.
"Who did this?! Show yourself!" Looking up, Redd noticed that the balcony from the fifth floor had been destroyed after the woman smashed through it in her fall.
However, no one appeared to check the woman out from the fifth floor.
'That bastard…' Feeling his blood starting to boil from anger, Redd turned around to head toward the fifth floor. Screw prohibited access!
When he reached the third floor, he found the same girl on his way. But, Redd simply gave her an angry look.
"Get out of my way."
"I said leave before you regret it." She replied.
"That woman had been beaten up to a pulp before being killed and thrown from a balcony. I won't ignore such a thing. Step away." Redd replied, his face had a huge frown on it.
Then, as he was about to take a step forward, Redd's body flinched as he saw a punch appear in front of his face. Without any hesitation, he quickly jumped back nimbly and landed on the ground.
'She's fast.' He thought to himself before he stood up again.
"I really don't want to do this. My problem isn't with you but with whoever did that!" He said.
However, the girl didn't reply and simply took a fighting stance.
'Well, suit yourself.' Saying that Redd put down his luggage and Crimsonmorph which was covered in a white cloth before he dashed toward the unknown girl at top speed.
Then, he launched a punch forward. At this point, it was safe to say that he was quite familiar with how to throw a proper punch with how many times he practiced this move, this felt almost completely natural. In fact, he didn't even need to close his eyes to be able to channel Aether through his body when punching.
The woman's pupils contracted as she dodged the attack, knowing full well that she would've sustained some damage if that punch connected. Then, she quickly aimed an attack at Redd's stomach. It was an attack that Redd who was still in an attacking position couldn't dodge.
The latter knew that he was going to get punched either way so he instead opted to do something rather unexpected. While most people would always think of dodging, deflecting, or defending, Redd's style of fighting was different.
He didn't really mind sustaining damage as long as he dealt even more damage to his opponent. He was an offensive freak through and through. So, even if he knew that he was going to get hit, he would always think of how to quickly reciprocate.
'Lodra was even harder to catch! You're nothing!' A small smile appeared on his face as he suddenly kicked with his left hug aimed toward the girl's right leg.
Realizing what the boy in front of her was intending to do, the girl's eyes widened slightly before she quickly jumped back.
"You're insane…." She murmured.
"Move." He repeated as he clenched his fists.
Seeing the boy's frankly carefree behavior, the girl could only clench her teeth. He was ready to take a hit as long as long as he could make her slip and fall. What kind of ridiculousness is that?
Does he not care what effect her punch could have on him?
As she was like that, Redd dashed forward at top speed and lunged at the girl. His punches flew at her like a torrent of rain. His speed and accuracy were good enough to make the girl dodge and deflect instead of trying to counterattack.
*BANG*
However, she couldn't dodge for long as a few seconds later, one of the punches connected with her arm and launched her back, smashing against the wall.
"Ugh…" A small groan leaked from the girl's mouth.
'Chance!' Redd thought and quickly dashed up the stairs, going to the third floor. But, that was a grave mistake.
Suddenly, Redd felt two hands grabbing both his legs before he was swept away and thrown from the balcony of the second floor.
"Woah!" The boy's vision twisted and turned as he smashed violently on the wooden floor.
'Damn, that really hurts.' Rubbing the back of his head, Redd looked up.
The girl stared at him from the second floor coldly. A blue spot could be seen on her left arm from the hit.
"Why are you protecting them? They killed a person." He asked.
"Why do you care? Do you even know if that person really deserved it or not? You know nothing about that woman." The girl replied back with an angry tone that finally permeated her emotionless front.
"I don't care if she's bad or good. A person's death is his dignity. No one deserves to die like an animal." Redd replied.
Redd firmly believed that everyone, bad or good is at least allowed to die with dignity. Not because they're honorable or something along those lines but simply because Redd had seen with how own eyes how people could end up dissected into pieces, brutally mauled, and eaten with only bits and pieces of their flesh being left intact.
He hated that sight, more than anything else. It always churns his stomach and makes him want to throw up. That planted in him the idea that every person should be allowed to have a normal death.
The girl looked at him silently for a while before a sigh leaked out of her mouth.
"Just give up and leave." Leaving those words behind, she walked away.
"Hey! Wait! I'm still talking to you! Hey!" Redd was about to stand up and follow after her. However, suddenly, an arm grabbed his shoulder.
"Don't do it, man. You will really get yourself killed."
Turning around, he saw a teenager, probably a few years older than him look at him. The young man was skinny, unbelievably so. He had a pale white face and a pair of black eyes. His hair was long and disheveled as if he hadn't washed it in ages.
"She can't kill me," Redd replied.
"Not her. But, the person that killed that woman. He definitely can."
"And who might that person be?"
"Shh, we can't talk here. Come on, pick up your things, and let's go."
"What about that woman?" Redd asked.
"Butler will take care of her." The young man said before he started walking toward the exit of the atrium.
Redd stared at the silhouette of the young man before he quickly walked back to the second floor, picked up his bag and spear, and then followed after him.
When he left the atrium, he found that same young man standing near the ship's guardrail, looking at the vast sea.
"You didn't tell me your name. I'm Redd by the way."
"I'm Limmy. Nice to meet you, Redd." Limmy extended his hand for Redd.
That latter smiled before he shook it casually.
"So, what do you mean by what you said?"
"You're new here, right?"
"Yes."
Limmy nodded his head before he asked a question.
"Do you know for how long this ship has been sailing in the northern seas?"
"No? How long?" Redd asked curiously. He already knew that trips between islands could take days or even weeks at a time.
Limmy smiled with a complicated expression before he turned to look at the vast sea. A melancholic expression appeared on his face.
"Even I don't have the answer. However, I can tell you at least for how long I've been on this ship." Then, the young man smiled and continued. "I've been here for 5 months."
"..."
"Hahaha, you seem confused. Well, it's a given considering how many islands there are in the northern seas. It will probably take a few more months before the ship reaches the Hunter's Dream."
