A loud shattering sound filled the hall when a huge vase smashed on the floor.
"What do you mean, she's nowhere to be found?" Duchess La Forte asked Troy. Her face was calm and so was her voice, but looking at the number of vases that were missing was enough to tell she wasn't in the mood. She loved vases and she wouldn't break any unless she was upset.
"Your grace, forgive my incompetence. We've searched the nearby forest where the lady's carriage was found, but there was no sign of her," Troy explained, looking away to avoid the duchess' stony gaze.
"You already said that, Troy. Do I need to tell you what to do next?" Duchess La Forte pressed her temples. "Cyrus would freak out if he finds out. We don't want him to, do we?"
