A spatial ring!
Hori's eyes lit up in surprise. Who knew that some low level bandits were rich enough to own something as valuable as that. Then again, it was very possible that they stole it from someone.
He injected a wisp of his mana into the spatial ring and everything that was inside became clear to him. There were a lot of weapons; daggers, swords etc. There were also some grimoires containing non elemental spells.
All those things however, meant nothing to Hori. What really made him smile was the pile of green coins secluded from the rest of the treasure.
'So much money! I should let myself get attacked by small town bandits more often!'
With the money that was there, he could finally be generous enough to let himself sleep in an inn or a hotel. He'd also need to buy some food, he had been feeling hungry ever since he woke up.
Hori's heart ached when he thought of the expenses that he would have to confront. With a dejected sigh, he wore the spatial ring on his ring finger and started his journey to find the Infinity Element Gaunlet.
While he was embarking on his journey, he saw a lot of petty traders advertising their goods. Some of them sold eye catching armies and protection talismans. He decided to stop over at one of them and decided to buy something, after all he was rich now, he could afford such lavishness.
"Hello there, how much for the armor". Hori walked over to a kiosk and asked the person attending to it.
The kiosk really wasn't much. There was a giant umbrella, big enough to provide shade to four grown men standing side by side. Under the umbrella was a table. There were various talismans laid out on the table.
The talismans were sorted into two piles: offensive and defensive talismans.
There were strings attached to the giant umbrella from which various types of armors hung. Hori used observation on all of them and picked out the one with the best defensive stats. Too bad there wasn't a price tag on it.
"Huh?"
Sitting behind the table was a middle aged man. The man had black hair which thinned at the front of his hair, that was a nice way of putting it. The man was practically bald. The front part of his hair line receded all the middle of his head, leaving smooth skin in its wake.
He wore a spectacle which amplified the magnitude of the size of his eyes to the average person looking at him.
There was a patch of hair growing above his lips, forming a mustache. A scar which spanned across his jaw contracted due to the movement of his mouth to form a frown.
"How much for the armor?" Hori pointed at the armor he wanted.
The middle aged man stood up and walked towards the armor. Hori's eyes widened immediately. The man wasn't wearing anything to cover his upper body. His wrinkly skin and saggy stomach was bare.
"This armor?" The middle aged man walked over to the armor and detached it from the string.
When the man raised his hands, Hori's nose was assaulted by a terrible smell. If not for his self control, he would've exclaimed due to the terrible smell emanating from the middle aged man's armpit.
"It's just five Yeds". The middle aged man said.
Hori almost spat blood when he heard the price of the armor. If he programmed the world so that one Yed was equivalent to a thousand dollars, wouldn't that mean that… he was going to lay five thousand dollars for some stupid scrap of leather!
He would have straight up walked away if not for the fact that he felt like he needed an armor. He was about to venture into a forest. Then again, there wasn't the option of going to another place. All the other armies that he had scouted had complex designs on them. He could feel that that would be quite expensive on the basis of the design alone, not the actual protective ability.
"Could you come down to three Yeds". Hori asked. If there was anything poverty had taught him on earth, it was that when you wanted to buy something from kiosks, slash the price by half!
The middle aged man's gaze darkened. "Five or nothing!"
Unfortunately, he wasn't in earth anymore. He took about ten defensive talismans and looked at them as if trying to decide whether they were worth it.
Unlike the armors, the talismans had price tags attached to them. He would have to lay five Yeds for the talismans.
With a sigh of resignation, Hori removed ten green coins from his spatial ring and handed it to the old man. He took a look at the armor and the talismans that he had spent so much to acquire.
The armor was plain black, without any form of a special design. It consisted of two breastplates and a shoulder armor held together by a thin leather strap.
'Alright then, let's go!'
He put on the armor and wore some of the defensive talismans, he kept the rest in his spatial ring. After doing this, he walked to the outskirts of the city. If he wasn't mistaken, and there was a near impossible chance that he was, there should be a small forest there.
Derek found the gauntlet in the forest after being forced to retreat by a drake. Hori meanwhile, looked to find the gauntlet and conquer the drake.
When he got to the outskirts of the city, there was a large collection of trees within his line of vision. The trees were arranged in such a way that they formed a path which led deeper into the forest.
Hori walked along the path leading deeper into the forest, warily looking around. According to the book, there shouldn't be any magical beasts located in the forest, but he didn't know what the stupid demigod that sent him here had up her sleeves.
After walking for a while, Hori took a detour and walked within the cluster of tree so close that they didn't leave enough room for a visible path. He continued squeezing himself between the trees until he reached a clearing.
There was no sign of grass around the clearing. Hori rushed towards the sandy floor and started signing frantically. He continued using his hands to shovel the sand until his hands hit something hard.
He pulled out a medium sized chest and opened it. Laying peacefully inside the chest were two metal gauntlets.
Hori sucked in some air. "The infinity gauntlet". He reached into the box and touched it.
As soon as his hand made contact with the gauntlets, his eyes closed and his head dunked forward, almost as if he were… dead?!
