Chapter 20 - Avenge Me, Please

Red. Blood. Death!

The smell of blood permeated the air, assaulting Hori's nose. It was only logical that the smell of blood lingered in the air seeing as a cascade of blood stained what was supposed to be a beautiful landscape.

One of the few things that weren't entirely blood in this scene were the mountain of corpses. No exaggeration. Hundreds of corpses littered the floor, forming small mountains.

Some of the corpses didn't have the privilege of being while. Their missing body parts littered the floor, drifting aimlessly on the river of blood.

It was only after acknowledging the main constituents of the landscape that Hori could fully behold what was in front of him.

The air in front of him was tainted with a faint red color as if paying homage to the blood. Blood overflowed from the bodies forming a literal river of blood. The missing parts of some of the corpses drifted about aimlessly on this river of blood. The mountain of corpses seemed to serve as islands.

There were two mountains quite a distance apart. Two tiny figures were at the peak of the mountains which were tall enough to oversee the miniature sea and islands.

Over everything was a blood red sky. Hori would've assumed that it was daytime and the daylight was tainted red if not for the stars shining brightly in the red sky.

The full moon which was in the sky showered the area with red rimmed light.

'Where the fuck is this?!' Hori was beyond shocked. He didn't remember the Derek falling into a trance after finding the Infinity Element Gauntlet.

The trance wasn't even what bothered him, it was the nature of where he'd ended up. It looked like one of those cliché scenes in his Wuxia novels when the main characters went on a killing spree.

"You know what?" One of the figures standing at the mountain peak said.

The figure was extremely tall. If his height was measured, he would stand at about eight feet. He donned a silver armor which covered almost every part of his body. He held the hilt of a broadsword tightly in his hands.

His face wasn't much to speak of. The sun had clearly done its work on it. His forehead was tanned slightly when compared to the other parts of his face. There were multiple scars of different parts of his face making it look all the more disfigured.

"I didn't think that you'd make it this far". The figure said. "But you've impressed me Seoras, or should I say... Chaos Harbinger!"

The person at the other mountain wasn't fazed by the words of the figure. He had shirt red hair which somehow swayed with the wind which blew in his direction.

He donned a black armor which covered the entirety of the upper part of his body. His legs were covered by a black battle themed trousers. His hands were covered by... the Infinity Element Gauntlet! Held tightly in his hands as he stared at the figure on the other side of the hill was... the same rusted sword that Hori used several hours ago!

"You know what Arman?" Seoras said. "Those corpses also didn't expect me to make it this far. I'll make sure you join them soon enough".

The tall figure that held the broadsword smiled. "To think that you killed all these people for a dumb girl". His lips parted to reveal a brown set of teeth. "You're overestimating her value, don't you think?"

Seoras' gaze that was initially filled with an eerie calmness flared up with anger immediately. "Who cares about her? You destroyed my planet!" The hands that held into the rusted sword shook violently. "My family, friends, all of them are gone!" He pointed his sword at Arman. "And you're going to lay for them!"

Arman seemed to find what Seoras said funny, because he burst out laughing. "Oh please, you're just going to get yourself killed. You know it". Arman leapt from the mountain peak he stood on, turning it to dust immediately. "You're too weak boy!"

Seoras also leapt from the mountain peak which he stood, also turning it do dust instantly. He slashed at Arman. Arman reciprocates the action and the two swords clashed, creating sparks as their blades slid over each other.

The repercussion of the action would be more than Hori could've ever imagined. As the two swords clashed, the shockwaves emitted caused the mountain of dead bodies surrounding them to be blown apart.

Hori sucked in some air. How powerful did the two figures two figures have to be in order for the shockwaves from their swords clashing to be so powerful.

The two of them flew away from each other. Seoras flew towards Arman again. The rusted sword which was held tightly in his hands started glowing with a purple hue.

Arcs of lightning flashed around the blade of the sword as he slashed at Arman again.

The same thing happened with Arman's sword, only that his sword glowed with an orange hue and there were flames outlining the edge of the blade of the sword.

Even though technically, Hori wasn't present at the scene, he could feel the heat of the sword brushing against his skin.

The swords clashed and the shockwaves emitted blew he mountain of corpses apart. The river of blood soaked the mountain of corpses.

A ten feet deep crater adorned with spider web like cracks formed on the floor.

Their swords clashed some more times, causing more damage to the environment around them until Arman finally found an opening and stabbed the chest of Seoras.

A sinister grin escaped his lips as he saw Seoras staggering while clutching his chest, where the sword was plunged into just a few moments ago.

"What? No last words?" Arman laughed. "I told you it was going to end like this".

Seoras didn't seem to hear him, he turned his body at an angle that made him seem that he was looking at Hori. Three words escaped his lips.

"Avenge me, please!"

After he said those words, his body capsized to the floor and his lifeless hands let go of the hilt of the rusted sword.
