This is the reason the leader did not want to take any kind of risk and told everyone to prepare for their attack while approaching Zero. During this time every one of them used their stealth technique. Not only that, they are also trying to control their aura, so that zero does not notice them.

Zero brings out his Sword and then begins to kill those people one by one except the leader. By looking at those people anybody could tell who is the leader and accept the leader. Every one of them was peak Mortal grade guardians. Only the leader is able to break through to the next grade.
Zero also knows that he won't be able to affect that leader for that long but he just needs some time to clear all the Minions and only then he would focus on dealing with that leader. It became so much easier for him to kill those people and wasting no time he already killed all those seven people.
He did not stop there and approached the leader using the movement technique and without giving any time he instantly pierced his sword into the leader's right thigh. But that isn't over as he brings out more knives from inventory and one by one begins to pierce the body of that leader.
After 2 minutes, that leader regained control over his body but he was still unable to do anything as his full body got pierced by those knives. Not only that, Zero is currently using him as a punching bag and just keeps punching his face.
He already broken the nose of the leader and almost broke 5 teeth of the leader. In one word you can say the condition of the leader is very critical and for the first time, the leader feels like he is facing his death. Even though there are many situations when he becomes very scared facing his enemy, this is the first time he is feeling the death of someone ready to kill him.

The moment the leader finished saying that instantly his head separated from his body. Well, Zero already expected who could be the person behind all of these so he did not want any more information from that person and decided to kill him.
