Chapter 16 - Chapter Fourteen: Talila and Tannivee

Kinntho woke up when she heard the screaming. She realized quickly things had not gone to plan at all. She heard footsteps coming toward her door and quickly she piled pillows beside herself into the shape of a small body and pulled the sheets up to her neck.

Her door flew open and Rara burst inside screaming.

"Oribella is gone!" She screamed.

Kinntho rolled over looking dazed, "Gone?"

"Wake up Kithel and help us look for her!" Rara shouted back.

Kinntho breathed a sigh of relief, Rara had fallen for her simple trick.

"I should really leave the boy to sleep," She said.

Rara gave her a furious glare, but before she could speak a new type of screaming broke out, but these were different screams.

Kinntho jumped out of bed rushing to help her sister, "This isn't for the boy to see," She told Rara.

Before she left she turned but to the decoy Kithel and said, "Stay here and wait for me."

Quietly she tugged on the water in the room to make the mound move like it was nodding. Thankfully Rara had already turned around.

Kinntho rushed out of her room to see Lage crumpled, she screamed in pain. Rara looked between Lage and the door outside.

"Help her," Kinntho yelled at Rara.

"But Oribella!" Rara screamed back.

"She's our sister and she needs us!" Kinntho replied angrily.

Kinntho knelt beside Lage, cradling her in her arms.

Rara and Ni stood together looking torn.

"I will go search for Oribella," Ni said quietly, "You stay with Lage and help."

Lage cried out struggling to reach Ni, "Please stay," Lage begged.

Kinntho had her arms around Lage trying to help toward her room.

Ni looked incredibly pained. He looked between his two wives and then went to Lage to help walk her to her room.

Rara began to burn, "My daughter is missing! You can't just leave me!"

"Lage is in labour, she needs me," Ni replied, he added with a bit of ice, "You'd want the same."

"Fine!" Rara turned on her heel, "I'll go find her myself!"

"Please stay Rara," Lage begged.

Rara didn't even look back before taking off.

Ni and Kinntho worked together to get Lage into a bed. Kinntho held her hand brushing her hair back.

Lage gave birth to not one child but two.

A beautiful boy and girl, both perfect combinations of their parents.

Lage cradled the little girl while Ni took the boy.

"They're perfect," Lage muttered.

Kinntho smiled softly thinking to herself that this is the way her sister should always be. With her husband and their children, happy and safe. Inside she felt angry with Rara for interfering. Even more so for her leaving Lage in her time of need.

They named the girl Talila and the boy Tannivee.

While the family smiled together feeling nothing but happiness, somewhere in the darkness Kithel carried the child with Rara chasing him through the night.
