Rara had heard everything. Lage would have a baby! Then Ni would be hers.
In a fury Rara took off running out of the castle. She got so far as the hill downwards when she felt she could no no further and put her head in her hands.
"I can help you," A quiet voice purred.
Rara froze looking around herself.
"Bring a piece of Ni's home down to the deepest cavern, I will be waiting," It hissed the last words.
Rara stiffened, no deal came free, "What do you want in return?"
There was no answer, just a fading laughter. Rara shuddered.
She wanted Ni, but would she do something this dangerous? Part of her felt excitement at the possibility of finally having Ni to herself, the other part felt worry.
The next morning Rara joined the others. Kithel and Kinntho sat together, Kinntho combed out his hair gently.
Then Lage and Ni came in. Lage glowed from head to toe, clearly very excited. Rara groaned to herself. The pair sat together at the table constantly linked.
Thats when she'd had enough.
She stormed out before anyone could say anything.
Rara ran toward where Ni's original home was. She picked a piece of the wood from the house, still partially burnt. Then she made her way toward a cavern.
It was dark and gloomy inside. Rara had no lantern so she lit her other hand on fire to see. The walls were damp and mossy. She walked deeper and deeper underground, shivering inspite of herself.
Thats when she felt the presence of something else. Something old and powerful.
She heard the soft sound of magma far ahead and made for the pool. She'd use it if she needed to fight.
She reached the pool seeing it was in a perfect circle. She sat down by its edge, twirling a finger around in the moltan rock.
Thats when it spoke again, "You came my dear child, and I see you have the materials."
"Yes," Rara growled.
"Relax little one," Steam rose from the magma surrounding her. "I see you, a rightful Queen dethroned." The steam gathered into a crown in front of her.
She reached out to fan it all away.
"What do I have to do," She stated plainly.
"Toss the material into the pool," It purred back.
Sensing there was more Rara pressed on, "And then."
"A drop of your blood," The steam continued to dance around her. "I can give you something Ni won't be able to deny." She watched the shape of two figures form holding hands, suddenly they were gone. "Unless you're afraid."
"I am not," Rara snapped.
"Then toss the piece of wood," The voice encouraged.
Rara took it into her hand and looked down on it. Then she let it slip through her fingers and it landed with a splash. The magma started to swirl.
Rara drew a rock from the edge and pressed it to her hand. Slowly drops of blood trickled down into the pool.
The purring voice laughed in glee as the magma took form. Rara watched as a body and head emerged. A little girl floated in front of her. Not a baby but a toddler.
Rara took her into her arms finding her still warm. She was a beautiful green colour with bright orange eyes.
"Mommy," the little girl said. She reached up and touched Rara's face.
"Go forth," The voice hissed.
Rara realized she'd forgotten something, "What do you want in return," Rara stated.
"In time," It replied, "Now go forth."
