Chapter 7 - Chapter Five: Destiny

The walk back was awkward. Lage was being dragged forward by Rara and pulled backward by Ni. She wished Rara would slow down.

When they reached the hill Lage stopped. Rara nearly tripped over her own feet.

She gave Lage a glare, but let go of her hand.

The castle before Lage was beautiful. It shined like the nighttime stars. Pulling Ni with her she took off towards it. Free of Rara the two felt intense joy. As they ran flowers bloomed beneath their feet.

But when they reached the entrance Ni stopped.

Lage's smile faded as she heard the whispers.

"What are they saying?" She asked.

Ni shook his head, "It's an ancient language, I cannot translate it."

"Oh, go on, you two," Rara was catching up to them.

Not wanting to be an object of tug of war again Lage took Ni's hand and pulled him inside with her.

The group made it back to the throne room.

Lage gasped seeing the thrones.

Rara and Kinntho went to there respective ones leaving Ni and Lage alone at the foot of the stairs.

"Go on," Ni encouraged her.

"Come with me," Lage replied.

"I have my own place here," He gestured to the side.

Lage could see another glowing throne, much less grand. But understanding she nodded.

She climbed the stairs hesitantly.

"Hurry up," Rara groaned.

When Lage reached her place she sat down.

The whole room vibrated.

"What's happening!" Kinntho screamed.

The three girls began to levitate. Each one glowing brighter and brighter.

Slowly a voice filled the room, it was a woman's voice, silky but devoid of affection. It spoke in a crackling voice, hundreds of years old.

"The fated ones arrive," She whispered, "And with them, they each bring a gift."

The three sisters felt their bodies relax in midair. Lage breathed a sigh of relief.

The woman continued, her voice booming through the halls, "Passion rules the corner of fire."

Rara smiled as she felt her body fill with energy. Her hands lit up with fire.

"Creativity the corner of water."

Kinntho spun herself in midair feeling so light and free.

"And last, the destined leader, humanity rules the corner of ground."

Lage felt the most wonderful feeling of hope, but also the horrible pain of the world that needed healing. She could see a vision in her mind of her and her sisters going forth together, only she led, not Rara.

The glowing stopped and gently they began to descend toward the ground.

The woman spoke one more time, "Hail the New Heirs."

It seemed to echo as if a million voices spoke it together, "Hail the New Heirs."

Then it was silent.
