Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Out of control

Merphis, with impressive agility, manages to thwart the thousands of light spears created by Kurugi. His calm and mastery of the sword seem to demonstrate exceptional skill in the face of this attack , At the same time, the soldiers, armed to the teeth, unleash a veritable storm of projectiles on Merphis, using bomb rifles, bazookas and plasma beam weapons of formidable power. The area is filled with deafening bangs and bright lights. However, when the smoke clears, the incredible happens: Merphis still stands, unharmed and resolute. No scratch marks his body, defying all logic and shaking the certainties of the soldiers who look at him in disbelief.

Merphis, with Olympian calm, turns to the stunned soldiers and calls out to them with slight contempt in his voice. "I have physical resistance uncommon for mortals. Do you really think that ordinary projectiles will be able to scratch me? Be serious, gentlemen." His statement echoes in the air, leaving the soldiers perplexed by the undeniable power of the mysterious being before them. Merphis' confidence fuels further concern within the military ranks, faced with an elusive enigma.

In an instant, Merphis delivers a sharp blow with his middle finger to a soldier's pectoral. The latter, struck by this attack, did not have time to cry out in pain as his body fell stiff, becoming soft flesh without bones. Kurugi is stunned by what just happened.

Kurugi: What happened to him, Merphis?

Merphis: It's a martial arts technique called "Brutal Strike". It is an attack that causes a domino effect in the target's body. Basically, I first destroyed the bones around his pectoral, but the second effect of this technique increases the range and effects of the attack on the whole body. Thus, the target sees its top completely destroyed and becomes nothing more than a pile of soft flesh.

Without waiting, Merphis wields his sword with extraordinary agility, defeating and cutting into thousands of pieces the 45 soldiers present on the scene. He dodges their projectiles with superhuman ease, leaving a field of destruction behind him.

Merphis then turns to Kurugi and points her saber at him.

Merphis: Sorry for keeping you waiting, I had to eliminate them first so we wouldn't be disturbed.

Kurugi: Now, let's get down to business.

Kurugi charges at Merphis with his spear, and they exchange sword and spear blows of incredible power. The shock caused by their weapons and the crossing of their auras cause significant damage to the premises. The confrontation between the two mythical powers shakes the environment around them. Merphis, with incredible poise, managed to dodge Kurugi's direct attack. He takes advantage of the opening to strike Kurugi's hand with the tip of his saber, disarming him. Then, he hits the back of Kurugi's knee to kneel him and delivers a violent kick that crushes him against a building, creating a huge hole in it.

Kurugi stood up with fierce determination, ignoring the pain wracking his body. His gaze was filled with suppressed rage as he moved towards the exit of the dilapidated building where he had been thrown during the intense fight. His hands clenching the hilt of his sword, he drew it sharply, the blade glinting faintly in the flickering light. Staring at Merphis with burning intensity , In one quick, fluid motion, Kurugi created a series of swirling spears around himself, each pointed precisely at Merphis. Without hesitation, he unleashed all six spears towards his opponent, while he himself launched into a combined attack, his own sharp blade ready to strike with devastating force. The air vibrated with electricity as the projectiles sliced through space towards their target .

Merphis, without moving from his place, managed to cut out all six spears created by Kurugi. Then, with a quick motion, he strikes the back of Kurugi's neck and crushes him against the ground, creating a gigantic crater , Kurugi's eyes went white, completely empty, and his breathing stopped. He's like dead. Merphis used a martial technique called "Shock Blow", which allows for one-shot kills with surgical precision to the neck.

Suddenly, Kurugi's body begins to emit waves of incredibly powerful energy, causing enormous material damage. Cars are catapulted far away, and infrastructure is destroyed under the impact. Faced with this explosion of energy, Merphis hurriedly moves away from Kurugi's body and prepares for the fight that will follow, aware that his opponent is not yet defeated.

Kurugi (provocatively, raising his arms slightly to show off his armor): You must be wondering how I survived your deadly attack, right, Merphis?

Merphis (crossing his arms, a glint of curiosity in his eyes): Given the nature of the world we live in, it is not impossible to see miracles. (He tilts his head, smirking) And what kind of blessing have you received? Regeneration? Power increase?

Kurugi (smiling, his white eyes glowing with intensity): I received a good dose of power amplification, and added to that the fact that the killing blow was transformed into energy for me. (He clenches his fists, cracking his knuckles, a golden aura emanating from his body)

Merphis (raising an eyebrow, a determined glint in his eyes): Well, let's see how many blessings you're going to receive. (He puts himself on guard, ready to face this new threat)

The tension between the two fighters was soaring, each preparing for the impending clash, their minds sharp and their bodies ready to unleash devastating power.

In an instant, Merphis and Kurugi rushed towards it at a speed surpassing the speed of light. Their collision caused a shockwave so powerful that it shook the ground for miles around. What ensued was a hand-to-hand combat of incredible intensity, each blow generating bursts of energy that rent the air. The two fighters moved with superhuman speed and agility, their movements almost imperceptible to the naked eye, as they engaged in a deadly ballet where any mistake could be fatal.

On the other side, Suka faced Suzaku, a sadistic, money-hungry hitman known for his Jack the Ripper-like power. Suzaku was equipped with two hooked blades, connected by black chains, which glowed sinisterly in the light. His cruel gaze fixed on Suka, as he swung his weapons with deadly precision, ready to launch his bloodthirsty assault. Suka, although aware of the mortal danger that Suzaku represented, stood ready to face this formidable opponent, his senses on alert and his mind focused on the fight to come.

Suzaku began attacking with his blades, throwing them towards Suka with demonic skill. Suka, anticipating the attack, managed to narrowly dodge, but he observed with surprise and concern how Suzaku had broken a wall with disconcerting ease. His opponent's raw strength and precision were more formidable than expected, forcing Suka to reconsider his battle strategy. Maintaining his composure despite the emergency, Suka prepared to fight back, aware that every move had to be carefully calculated to stand a chance against such a formidable foe.

Suzaku: (sardonic smile) You're more agile than I thought, Suka. But you won't be able to avoid my attacks forever.

Suka: (gaining his balance, ready to answer) You're fast, Suzaku. But raw power won't be enough to defeat me.

Suzaku: (laughing softly) Raw power is sometimes all you need, especially against someone like you. (He glances around, assessing the surroundings) This wall was just an example. Imagine what I could do to your fragile frame.

Suka: (looking at him with determination) We'll see. But your blades and your strength do not make a warrior. (He prepares to retaliate, his senses on high alert)

Suzaku: (eyes bright with excitement) Ah, that's what's fascinating. Determination in the face of the inevitable. (He prepares for a new offensive, ready to escalate the fight to an even deadlier level)

The tension between Suka and Suzaku grew as their words intertwined with the violence of the impending physical exchanges, each ready to push their limits to emerge victorious from this brutal confrontation.

Suzaku launched himself with prodigious speed, crossing the space between him and Suka with dazzling speed. He swung his hooked blades towards Suka with deadly precision, but at the last moment he froze, stunned. Suka, without even moving a finger, countered his attack imperceptibly. An aura of determination emanated from Suka as he stood still, his gaze fixed on Suzaku. The latter, realizing the dangerousness of his opponent, instinctively backed away, preparing for an even more intense confrontation.

Suzaku: How is this possible? I was sure I'd finish you off with this attack.

Suka: (calmly, with a slight smile) In fact, I was simply going to die. But fortunately, I thought about protecting my back.

Suzaku: (intrigued, frowning) How did you keep your back?

Suka: Well, during our light verbal exchange, I summoned a camouflage/hunting type Yokai, which allowed me to protect myself.

Suzaku: (smiling wryly) I should have known that. My excitement to kill you as quickly as possible made me forget your nature as a summoner.

The two adversaries faced each other, each measuring the other with respect and distrust. Suzaku, recognizing Suka's ingenuity, mentally adjusted his strategy while keeping a close eye on his opponent's movements. Meanwhile, Suka remained focused, ready to use his summoning skills and tactical intelligence to maintain the advantage in this deadly duel.

Suka conjured an arc of light in his hand, a fiery glow in his determined eyes. He grabbed a fire arrow and quickly drew it, letting out a glowing bolt towards Suzaku. Flaming arrows whistled through the air, creating trails of fire as Suka adjusted his aim with deadly precision. Suzaku, reacting with agility, began to run across the battlefield, dodging the flaming projectiles that pursued him with fierce determination. Suzaku's every move was calculated, his reflexes honed by the need to survive Suka's relentless assault. The scene was a chaotic ballet of light and movement, where every moment could decide the fate of the two combatants engaged in this fierce struggle.

Suzaku felt a pang of admiration mixed with frustration as he assessed the situation. Suka's strategy was incredibly clever, allowing him to attack from a distance while benefiting from the protection of an invisible creature. As he regenerated from the deep scratches inflicted by this creature, Suzaku recognized his opponent's ingenuity. He realized he had to adjust his approach if he wanted to turn the tide of this fight. A wry smile appeared on his lips as he prepared to counterattack, determined to find a way to bypass this defense and regain the advantage in this intense duel.
