Chapter 18 - chapter 18: Worry

Yamero tried to move, to resist the invisible grip that immobilized every fiber of his body, but nothing worked. A crushing force, like an icy grip, seemed to freeze his muscles, imprisoning him where he stood.

Before him, Ha'arm watched the scene with calculated satisfaction, an impassive smile on his face. "So, the beast is now harmless," he murmured in a cold voice, his eyes sparkling with malevolence.

Despite the forced immobility, Yamero's gaze did not falter. He stared at Ha'arm with an intensity that defied his condition, his eyes burning with contained rage. Ha'arm took a few steps forward, savoring his temporary victory, like a predator toying with its prey before the fatal blow.

Ha'arm says, "Since we began our activities, we have not encountered any problems until your rebel organization began to give hope to those who were buried in fear. Because of you, revolts broke out, but we contained them all." Yamero replies, his gaze filled with defiance, "You thought we would stand by while you spread terror? Honestly, that is stupid beyond belief."

Ha'arm sneered, his eyes narrowing in satisfaction. "Wreak havoc? That's more like what you did, Yamero. We bring order, control. But your little band of rebels, with your ideas of freedom and hope, have only disrupted the balance we've created."

Yamero gritted his teeth, trying to move despite the paralysis imposed by Ha'arm. "Order? Control? You call this order, enslaving people for your experiments?" His gaze burned with anger. "We may not have the raw power of your organization, but at least we fight for the freedom of those you oppress."

Ha'arm, still unfazed, shook his head. "Freedom is a luxury that only the strong deserve. Those who cannot survive without depending on us have no place in this new world."

Yamero glared at him, each word Ha'arm spoke intensifying his rage. "Then you should prepare yourself, for this 'new world' you are building with your horrors will be torn down, piece by piece, until there is nothing left of you."

A heavy silence fell, each word of defiance from Yamero echoing in the air laden with opposing intentions.

Ha'arm sneered, his gaze filled with contempt. "How do you plan to destroy the world we want to build, if none of you get out of here alive?" he said in an icy voice.

With a single gesture of his hand, he crushed Yamero to the ground, his power crashing down on him with crushing force. Yamero, pinned to the ground, struggled to get up, but Ha'arm's relentless pressure held him helpless, each movement making it harder for him to breathe.

Ha'arm sneers as he watches Yamero struggle in vain. "There is no point in struggling," he replies confidently. "I have the ability to increase gravity with a simple gesture of my hand. Right now, I have multiplied the pressure twentyfold." Yamero, his face tense and his muscles contracted, tries to stand up despite everything, but his efforts are futile. With each attempt, the pressure seems to intensify even more, making his movements more and more painful. The crushing gravity literally pins him to the ground, while Ha'arm watches him, a smirk on his lips.

Under the crushing force of gravity, the ground around Yamero begins to give way. The pressure intensifies to the point of creating a huge crater over a hundred meters deep, the rocks and debris crumbling and collapsing in a chaotic spiral.

Yamero, immobilized in the center of this devastation, is pushed deeper and deeper into the earth, the weight of the air becoming unbearable. His muscles contract with the effort, his body seeming ready to break under the titanic force that holds him to the ground. Ha'arm, overlooking the scene from the edge of the crater, watches the impact of his power, a cruel smile lighting up his face, satisfied with his overwhelming superiority.

Yamero exclaimed, "Your gravity power is quite impressive, Ha'arm! I'm amazed."

Ha'arm replied with a mocking smile, "Are those your last words before disappearing, crushed by the debris?"

Yamero retorted, with a smirk, "Not really. I just wanted to gauge your abilities. Now, let's get down to business."

Without apparent difficulty, Yamero stood up and made a powerful jump to find himself facing Ha'arm, unharmed. Ha'arm, surprised, asked him, "How is it possible that you were able to free yourself from the gravitational pressure that I exerted?"

Yamero replied nonchalantly, "I have the ability to manipulate density, which allowed me to create a countermeasure to your power."

Ha'arm, perplexed, insists: "How? The pressure I exerted also affected your internal organs. How can you be intact?"

Yamero explains calmly: "Density manipulation allows me to lighten my body until it becomes lighter than the atoms themselves, thus creating a repulsive effect against your pressure. My aura also encompasses the atoms around me, creating a protection that counteracts gravity. In fact, when I enter this state, my body becomes an energy regulator. Every impact, even internal, is absorbed and reflected in atoms. Whether you increase or decrease the pressure, my body automatically adjusts its density to adapt to it."

Yamero, cracking his knuckles, defiantly calls out, "Come fight man to man instead, Ha'arm."

Ha'arm, a sneer on his face, retorts, "Do you really think you have a chance? Pathetic."

Yamero, however, is already behind him in an instant. With impressive speed, he delivers a spinning kick to the back of his neck, sending Ha'arm flying against several walls. The impact echoes through the room.

Yamero then shouts, his voice full of defiance, "And that's pathetic?"

Ha'arm stands up, straightening his neck with a slight smile of defiance. "Not bad," he says, his voice laced with icy appreciation. "That's a bit impressive."

Without missing a beat, the two opponents charge toward each other at blinding speed. Their bodies collide with titanic force, and the resulting shockwave is so powerful that it disintegrates everything around them. Walls, ceilings, and even the floor crumble to dust, leaving only the chaos of their fight.

In the tumult, the stormy black sky is revealed, while rain rages, falling like tears on a devastated world. Lightning illuminates the scene, adding a touch of drama to this epic confrontation.

They exchange blows at a speed so fast that they are almost imperceptible to the naked eye. Both fighters dash forward with fierce agility, each movement betraying an exceptional mastery of their powers.

Ha'arm, determined to gain the upper hand, attempts to land a direct blow against Yamero. But the latter, anticipating the attack, ducks with precision, dodging the blow. Taking advantage of this opening, Yamero launches a quick strike to Ha'arm's right side, the impact resonating like a detonation.

Without waiting, Yamero follows up with a clever sweep, striking Ha'arm's feet with his right foot, unbalancing him. With impressive fluidity, he then unleashes a powerful punch, smashing Ha'arm into the ground with such force that a crater forms under the impact, sending debris and dust into the air.

The rain continues to fall, heightening the intensity of their fight, each exchange of blows a mix of technique and raw power.

Ha'arm stands up with cold determination, ignoring the pain. He quickly heals the hole left by Yamero's blow in his stomach, as if no attack had ever touched him. A wry smile appears on his face, as he assesses the situation.

"Your blows are not normal," he says calmly. "They have a very powerful impact."

Yamero, always ready for a fight, replies with quiet confidence, "I use my power of density to increase the force of my strikes. There, I hit you with over 2000 kg of force with my fist."

Ha'arm quickly teleports behind Yamero, his movements so fluid that they seem to defy reality. In a flash, he delivers a punch charged with his alchemical energy. The impact is lightning fast, propelling Yamero into the air, leaving him dazed and off balance.

Before Yamero can catch himself or recover from the surprise, Ha'arm appears above him. With fearsome intensity, he fires several beams of red energy, creating a rain of deadly, luminous projectiles that head straight for Yamero. Each beam shimmers with an evil glow, reflecting the alchemical power imbuing them.

Yamero extends his right arm towards Ha'arm, launching a series of yellow energy beams that speed past. The two powers collide with a deafening crash, creating a bright clash that lights up the prison in dazzling flashes. The resulting explosion sends debris flying in all directions, as the prison walls shake with the force of the impact.

Taking advantage of the confusion and flashes of light, Yamero pushes through the blast, determined to deliver a decisive blow. His figure slices through the air as he charges directly towards Ha'arm. However, Ha'arm anticipates his move perfectly. In the blink of an eye, he grabs Yamero by the neck with incredible strength.

With a brutal gesture, Ha'arm dives towards the ground with blinding speed, dragging Yamero down with him. They race through the prison, the walls shattering around them with a deafening crash, until they reach the basement. The impact of their landing is cataclysmic, kicking up a cloud of dust and debris.

In this new, dark and chaotic environment, Yamero feels a surge of adrenaline. As the dust slowly settles, he straightens, his gaze fixed on Ha'arm, ready to strike back. The tension is palpable, the air heavy with intense anticipation, as they prepare to continue their titanic fight in the darkness of the basement.

Ha'arm says with a cruel smile, "You're doing quite well, young runt, but it's not enough to get your revenge."

Yamero, out of breath but determined, replies in a provocative tone, "I'm just warming up, let's see."

Suddenly, a dark, purple aura envelops Ha'arm, transforming his eyes into abysses of darkness. A shiver runs down Yamero's spine as, with a simple gesture of his hand, Ha'arm slices his right arm with the entire wall, making it fly into pieces.

Yamero stands frozen, stunned and perplexed, watching his severed arm fall to the ground.

"How is that possible? I didn't see anything," he exclaims, his voice betraying anguish.

Ha'arm, impassive, replies with an air of contempt, "That's quite normal. It's one of my abilities. I launch slashing attacks that are imperceptible even to those whose senses are so acute that they can see the auras of mythic power users."

Without giving him time to react, Ha'arm unleashes a hail of slashing attacks. The invisible blades slice through the air with deadly precision, slicing through the walls and ground around Yamero in a dance of destruction.

Yamero struggles to dodge, moving nimbly in a desperate effort to avoid the deadly blows. Yet despite his efforts, he is struck again and again, feeling the stinging impacts on his weakened body.

Each strike from Ha'arm seems to come from nowhere, making the situation increasingly desperate for Yamero, who must find a way to counter this insidious threat before it is too late.

Yamero's body is cut into pieces, scattered like rice on the ground, a gruesome sight that could have ended his fight. Yet, as Ha'arm prepares to leave, an intense energy radiates from the pile of debris. To Ha'arm's surprise, Yamero slowly reconstitutes himself, his body reforming with impressive resilience.

Ha'arm, stunned but amused, comments, "You have quite the regenerative ability, I must say."

Yamero, a smirk on his lips, replies, "Yeah, I can regenerate even if my body is blown to pieces."

Suddenly, Ha'arm summons a black sword, his weapon lighting up with a dark aura. He points it at Yamero, his gaze burning with murderous intent. "So what do you plan to do now, young runt?" " he demands with palpable arrogance, ready to strike at any moment.

Yamero, now fully restored and reinvigorated, does not back down. "I still have a few surprises in store. I will not be defeated so easily."

With a flick of his wrist, Yamero releases a pulse of yellow energy that radiates around him, creating a protective force field. He prepares to counterattack, determined to show Ha'arm that even in adversity, he is far from defeated. Tensions rise as the two opponents lock eyes, one ready to unleash the fury of his sword, the other about to unleash his full potential.

Yamero races at a dizzying speed through the debris and smoke, determined to find Miya. Every beat of his heart echoes like a war drum as he runs, his senses heightened to the limit. Suddenly, he finds himself face to face with Oswald, who holds Miya tightly by the neck, a cruel smile on his face.

"Let go of her, Oswald!" Yamero shouts, his voice filled with anger and determination.

Oswald reacts quickly, raising the Anubis Sword to launch a powerful slashing attack. Yamero reacts quickly, focusing his energy and using his own power to launch a slashing attack in response. But Oswald, with surprising agility, dodges the blow while letting go of Miya.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Yamero rushes towards Miya and grabs her by the waist, a breath of relief escaping his lips. "Hold on!" " he shouts at her before disappearing in a burst of light.

In the blink of an eye, they appear inside the ship. Yamero feels the tension ease as he turns to Daru, who is already waiting by the controls with an anxious expression.

"What happened?" Daru asks, his gaze shifting from Miya to Yamero.

"No time to explain! We have to take off now!" Yamero replies, his heart still pounding.

Daru nods quickly and activates the engines, roaring the ship as it begins to rise into the stormy skies. Yamero takes one last look outside, aware that Oswald's threat could still follow them, but he feels reassured to have Miya safe by his side.

"Are you okay?" he asks, turning to Miya, a note of concern in his voice.

Miya nods, though her face betrays fatigue and shock. "Yeah, just a little shaken. Thanks for saving me."

"That's what I do," Yamero says with a small smile, determined to protect those he loves no matter the cost.

As the ship gains altitude, moving away from the danger zone, a new adventure looms on the horizon, and Yamero knows they'll have to stick together to face what lies ahead.

Suka looks at Yamero with a mixture of frustration and worry. "Where have you been? One second late and Miya would no longer be in this world, Yamero."

Yamero turns to her, looking serious. "I had no choice. I was fighting Ha'arm on the other side."

Daru, his face marked with anger, exclaims: "Ha'arm? The bastard who killed Azaku? Did you kill him at least?"

Yamero clenches his fist, his gaze hard. "Alas no, he is too strong. The only way I had was to create a diversion to retrieve this sword and use it to free Miya from Oswald's grip."

Miya, still a little trembling but determined, intervenes: "You're right, Yamero. I don't blame you. They are too strong." I faced Oswald, and despite my techniques, it was not enough to put him out of harm's way. We need Merphis. Where is he? "

Suka, his face dark, speaks up. "Merphis is gone. After his fight with one of the bounty hunters, he left, transformed into a dragon."

Miya frowns, puzzled. "Into a dragon? How is that possible?"

Suka shrugs casually. "All that matters is that Merphis is a coward. He was never supposed to be integrated into our organization in the first place."

Maki, unable to remain silent, interjects with conviction. "Don't forget that it's thanks to Merphis that I was able to survive and heal. Otherwise, I would have been taken away with Azaku."

Daru nods. "And Merphis sent us what was needed to free Maki from Griselda's curse. Without him, we wouldn't have been so lucky."

Suka narrows her eyes, irritated. "If you survived, it's not just because of Merphis, but also because of those who did their best. Stop defending a coward!"

Miya, trying to calm the tension, adds, "Look, I understand that the situation is frustrating. But no matter what Merphis did or didn't do, we need to focus on the future. If we have resources, we need to use them."

Suka, still bitter, crosses his arms. "Fine, but I'm not going to sit here and sing the praises of someone who abandoned his team."

Daru sighs, aware that the tensions between them are palpable. "This is not the time to fight among ourselves. We need a plan, not internal divisions."

Yamero, observing the dynamic, decides to intervene. "Whether Merphis is here or not, he played a role in our survival. We need to focus on our next step." First, we need to find Merphis. Then we can decide together how to move forward."

Daru, his gaze serious, breaks the heavy silence. "We won't be able to find Merphis. I just checked the latest data from the device Miya gave him and Suka. The device indicates that Merphis lost its signal while crossing the North Pacific Ocean."

A murmur of worry runs through the crew, each realizing the magnitude of the situation.

Suka, his arms crossed and his expression somber, continues speaking. "We have more important things to do than find someone who is surely lost forever. A real apocalypse is about to happen. We must focus our efforts on the immediate threat."
