Chapter 6 - 6: Library/Caught.

It was a new day. My alarm beeped loudly. I stared at the ceiling for what felt like hours, though only a few minutes.

Haruka: "What am I gonna do today..." I slowly sit up. I look at an empty bookshelf. I need books... anything that could give me more knowledge on how to do things better...

I get out of bed and go to the bathroom. I then take a shower and dry myself off. After that I get dressed and brush my hair.

Haruka: I turn and look outside as I start making coffee. "I don't wanna have to leave this place..." I form a gun and a single bullet. I open the window, wind flows inside. I load the gun and aim it outside. Someone is watching me again. I aim it at them and fire. It hits the ground near them, missing, but it is enough to get them to leave. "Give me a break..."

Grabbing the coffee and a bagel, I walk out of the dorm room.

The walkway to the library is windy, with a lot of dorm buildings and a few shops all around. The path itself led to a grand library. The five floor titan of a building towered over the shorter buildings.

I walk down the path, wearing glasses. I shouldn't need much of a disguise right now but I'll at least use the glasses.

I reach the library and walk inside. As expected, there were several hundred thousand books of all different languages. Many students and teachers were in the building. I go up to the desk.

Librarian: "Hello, what can I get for you."

Haruka: "Workbooks for these classes." I place a piece of paper down, showing what I need.

Librarian: "Are you...?"

I nod.

Librarian: "I'll get those books then. Just don't start a fight in here, please."

I look around. There was a poster board with the Week Bounty and one of me.

Haruka: "That's annoying." I start looking through the books on one of the shelves.

The section I was looking at was the Student Author section. I grab one of the books.

"Um-"

I turn towards the voice. Taka was watching me, hiding behind a shelf and peeking over the side.

Haruka: "Oh. Taka... how have you been? Long time no see."

Takahiro: "Hi... I couldn't find you for several days... I was a bit worried you already... Um- H-how is being the year bounty going for you?"

I look around. Nobody was watching me.

Haruka: "You can't just say that out loud..." I put the book back. "Anyway, it's been going fairly well... my body is still sore as hell but I'm sure I'll be fine."

Takahiro: "You've already been in fights?" He looked a little scared.

Haruka: "Yeah. I fought a cactus guy, some random dude, a girl who could like... explode things on her arms?" I think for a bit. "Oh yeah and the limb guy."

Takahiro: Such basic descriptions... He looks around. "S-should we maybe move to a different location?"

Haruka: "Sure." I put my hands in my pockets. "I do got a few-"

Librarian: "Um excuse me. I got your books." She looked a little annoyed.

Haruka: "Oh shit. Sorry." I quickly grab the books. "Thank you."

I follow Taka upstairs. There was a massive manga section. Tons of recognizable series. Seinen, shonen, shoujo, basically anything good.

Takahiro: "This is the manga section. We got... we got Naruto. That's the one I mainly read..." He rubs his neck a little.

I go all around the area, grabbing a few volumes of some seinen manga.

Haruka: "I need books that can help me train well."

Takahiro: "I don't know where that section is... try asking someone. Wait but someone might recognize you... hmmm." He started thinking.

I walk to a random person reading a novel. He looked absorbed into it but it was possible he'd listen to me.

Haruka: "Hey." He looks at me. "Do you know where I can find books for general health. Maybe something like training or cooking?"

He sighs.

Kid: "So annoying..." He raises his hand and I start levitating. He swipes his hand and slams me into the wall.

The impact took my breath away. I cough take a deep breath, then look at the kid.

Haruka: "Holy fuck. That's... of course he has telepathy-" The bookshelf nearby falls on top of me.

Taka runs to me.

Takahiro: "A-are you okay?" He looks at the kid. "Sorry that was... I think his name is Ha-Jun. He is pretty scary... sorry I didn't tell you about him."

I lift the bookshelf off of me. All the books were scattered on the floor.

Haruka: "It's all good." I crack my back. My glasses were broken so I drop them on the bookshelf. I grab one of the books. It's a Judo training book. "Looks like he put me in the right place."

One of the librarians, not the one from before, runs up here to see the disaster that just occurred.

Librarian: "What the hell is wrong with you. We gotta clean all of this..." She looked pretty angry.

Haruka: "I guess I'll take all of these books..."

There was a silence

We ended up getting a lot more books than the ones that fell. Books on cooking, fighting styles. We even got a book about optimal disguises. Taka follows me out of the library. I was stuck pushing a cart with the books that fell.

Haruka: "I'm so tired..." I look at Taka, who was drinking out of a juice box. "Give me some of that juice..."

Takahiro: "What- N-no! Get your own!" He almost dropped his juice box. He started holding it with both hands.

I sigh and keep pushing. Eventually, we reach my room. I push the cart to the door. It stops. I look at the cart.

Haruka: "They gave me a cart that is too- oh for fucks sake..." I pull back the cart and go in front of it. I pull the cart towards me so it hits the doorframe again.

Takahiro: "I do have a wish crystal..."

Haruka: I look at Taka for a few seconds, confused. What the hell is a wish crystal??? "Oh, yeah. A wish crystal! I know that." I lied. "So uh you wanna use that somehow or?"

Takahiro: "You could try using-"

Haruka: "Just throw books in the room." I'm visibly tired. I rub my eyes. My head is killing me. It hasn't even been that long into the day. I look at the clock on the wall. It's only 3:30? I look around as Taka throws books, all of them missing me. "It could be-"

A drone flies in front of my window. The entire room turns red as its bright glowing eye locks onto me.

Haruka: "Taka. Get the hell out of here." My sleeve starts breaking down as I form a spiked metal bat. The formation takes part of my eye in the process, causing me to lose half my vision. "Fuck- What the hell do you want." I point the bat at the drone.

Two more come in from the sides. The windows break open and they fly in, surrounding me. They were compact and had one weapon they fire something with on the bottom.

Another drone comes in, this one has someone on top of it.

???: "You are really bad at staying hidden, Haruka." The man was short but had a strong presence. His dark brown hair was messy, and getting even worse from the wind generated from the drones. "Put the weapon down." His reddish-pink eyes staring me down.

Haruka: "Eh... I'm good." I throw the bat at one of the drones, breaking the eye camera. I slide under it as its flight destabilizes, catching it. Then, I rush towards another drone.

???: "Quite the idiot, aren't you?" The kid snaps and the remaining drones fire at me. They shoot a glowing red net that surrounds me. Trapping me in a translucent red box.

Haruka: "What the hell is this thing." I punch the walls surrounding me, not even a crack.

???: "A device designed in a way where you can't get out of it."

The box rose into the air and starting moving towards the window.

???: "Also... don't try using your powers. There's nothing to take except the air." He sighed.

The man jumped on top of the box. It started flying towards the student council building.

Haruka: I sat down. "Guess I should get comfy then. What's your name anyway?"

The man looked at me. He glared slightly.

???: "For someone approaching your death... you are really taking this easy." He rubs his eyes. "Also... what gave you the impression that I'd give out my info that easily?"

Haruka: I sigh. "Play tough all you want. I'll survive this."

???: "We'll see."
