"This is pointless... you are too annoying to fight right now." Amari coughed a little before putting up a fighting stance. She glared, "Put some effort into this."
Haruka breathed heavily, calming down. Smirking, he started copying her stance, "Is that Taidō?"
Her eyes widened slightly. Angrily, she tackled him. Scales rapidly formed on her arms, exploding his chest little by little. She punched him away. I can't let him get me annoyed! She pulled out her gun and shot several pencils at him.
He formed a large, thick, and durable wooden shield that stopped the pencils in their tracks. Haruka grinned as the fight became more fun than the other fights he had had.
Using this opportunity, she spun and dropped down, launching a kick at the shield. The force of the kick combined with the explosions released broke the shield.
He gasped as the shield debris knocked into him as well as the kick. What a powerful hit... As the debris fell, he grabbed her leg and threw her into a pillar. I need to end this quickly. Haruka grabbed a bunch of debris and threw them at her as she was regaining her balance.
"Nope-" Amari said as she dodged the debris. She caught some and threw them back before gaining her composure again.
Haruka formed a knife. It took some of his body and he started bleeding, but he didn't lose focus. He punched her in the stomach. The punch knocked her into the pillar once again. He grabbed her by the neck and started punching her more.
Panting, he said, "I don't like being this aggressive..." The punches started making her stomach bruise and bleed. "It's not my style."
Amari frantically grabbed his arms, forming scales on her hands that exploded on the spot. The explosions damaged her hands as well as his arms. Haruka jumped back. She put her hand on her stomach.
The fire alarms started ringing in the distance for the effects of Batch's fight. They both looked at the alarm before facing each other.
"Do we really have to fight?" Haruka offered. I'm having trouble moving my arm. I need to make this even quicker
She ran forward, slowly forming more scales.
Does she slow down on the scale growth after a while? What does it depend on?
He leaned back, dodging one of her punches before forming a rapier. "We're done here." He sighed. In quick succession, he stabbed her leg, stomach, and shoulder, all on the right side.
She stumbled back. Her breathing grew heavier. Looking down at the blood staining her suit, she laughed, "Guess you have improved."
He watched as she slowly took a stance again. It was a sad sight to see. Someone who wanted to keep fighting.
"I'm not... done..." Amari laughed. She wobbled a bit before collapsing. "Can you make sure... that Ren is alright..." She coughed out, "I dragged him into this... I'd hate to see him go lonely."
Her body became lifeless as her blood soaked the floor around her, seeping into the cracks in the ground made from the fight prior. A few seconds later, Haruka fell too, just sitting down. He leaned on a pillar, getting his bearings.
After 20 or so minutes, his phone started ringing. A piercing noise in the atmosphere of the quiet, empty mall. He answered the call and put it on speaker.
"Where are you?!" The voice yelled.
It was Sumiko.
Haruka looked at the ceiling and laughed a little. "You should've answered earlier..."
"I was grabbing someone from the student council to let them know this was happening! Where the hell are you?!"
He lay down and closed his eyes, "I'm somewhere in the mall... I'm too tired to move. I think I said where I am in the voicemail..." He went unconscious.
---------------------------------------------------30 Minutes Later---------------------------------------------------
Haruka was shaken awake. It was windy. The air was cold. Why are we on a roof? I can't see what building we are on.
"Get up." It was a woman's voice. Familiar, yet hard to recognize.
He tried to get up but lacked the energy to move at all. I recognize that voice somewhere. How many girls do I know that aren't Sumiko... He was simply able to sit there and stare in one direction. Sighing, he said, "Who's talking?"
The girl stepped into view. It was Hiragi, the girl who had brought her to the assembly about the bounty system weeks ago, as well as one of the student council members. She had a teal-colored, long, oversized flannel shirt on, jean shorts, and a white crop top. She came here on one of her cozier days.
She put her hands in her pockets. "Are you stupid?" She said as she flicked his forehead, "You must be incapable of moving... anyway." She sat down.
They both sat in silence for a minute or two, not knowing what to say. Hiragi got out her cup of coffee.
"This late at night... busy with student council work?" Haruka glanced.
She put down the cup of coffee. "I don't recall us being close enough for you to pry into my life." She was annoyed by his comment.
For another few seconds, there was silence.
For a little bit, she groaned before muttering, "Fine! My brother has tried to interfere with my plans by trying to become the head of the Akisake family once again. You know how powerful they can be... I need to get ahead once again before all my work is wasted."
"Plans?"
Hiragi glared at him before taking a sip of her coffee once more. "You and Sumiko seem pretty attached..." Her eyes grew shiftier. The cold grey color of her eyes was unchanged by the yellowish color of the lights around them. She sighed, "Do you like her?"
Haruka blushed, looking away for a bit. He slowly turned back to her and nervously confessed, "I'm kinda into her, yeah. She is strong and nice... mysterious too. It almost lured me into only focusing on her. It's like everything drowns out when she speaks. However, because of that mysteriousness can't tell if she is being real with me."
She smiled slightly, "She is usually like that. Often using masks... do you think she likes you?"
"That-" He blushed more, "That doesn't matter. I don't plan on pursuing her."
Hiragi looked annoyed. She sighed, "Whatever... anyway... I thought I would brief you on the trip coming up soon and what the guidelines are. I doubt you would be up for learning about it at the assembly."
He looked at her, curious as to what she was talking about. A trip? Where would it be? Tokyo? Hokkaido? Brazil? Probably not Brazil...
"The trip will be in a week and will last for two weeks. We will be heading to Hawaii."
Hawaii?! How rich is this school? It's gonna be so nice there... He grinned, excited at this golden opportunity. "Finally I'll get to mark one off the list..."
Hawaii is just one of the many places Haruka wants to visit in his lifetime. While his main goal is to get money for his family, he also would like to be able to travel the world like his sister does currently. He even has a list of countries from around the world, each including multiple different places he wants to see. So far he hasn't managed to scratch off a single entry.
She scratched her head, getting in a more comfortable sitting position. "People will not be allowed to attack you during the day. Nighttime is fair game. It's the opposite of what it is like here. You are free to hang out with your friends. However, the student council will not be there to help you. It's also our relaxation time after all. Batch will be off duty, however, if you call him he will get there."
It started to get windier, the cold breeze sent a chill down his spine. Hiragi's pink hair flowed in the wind. The blank yet mysterious grey color of her eyes could pierce through the cold. Her robotic gaze felt like being stabbed by a dagger.
"You will be able to dorm with someone of your choice, as long as you both agree. You and the person of your choosing will go there a day early," She glared. If he even thinks about living with Sumiko...
They heard footsteps coming closer. It was Sumiko, running to them. She was sweating and exhausted. After stopping and taking a few breaths, she panted, "I was looking for you... everywhere... why didn't you text me Hiragi..."
"I had to talk to Haruka about something. Be careful with him. His arms are pretty hurt after that fight he had." She said as she walked away.
Why is she not saying what it was? Am I not supposed to tell her about it yet? He thought.
Sumiko sat next to him.
"Are you excited for the trip coming up? Two weeks... I wonder where it'll be..." She turned to him and smirked, "Do you know where it'll be?"
He turned to her, nervous. "Wanna dorm together?"
"If you are the one keeping the place clean, sure." She leaned on his shoulder.
---------------------------------------------------Later that night---------------------------------------------------
"Are you sure about this, Tetsuya? It goes against the student council rules." A man said.
Tetsuya groaned, "It's fine Yuzuru! The student council is what we make of it."
The man pushed up his glasses, "Putting together a team to continue your shenanigans seems a little foolish. However, I'm willing to see where this goes.
The two of them walked onto the stage as the curtains opened. There were around 30 people in the room. Most of them were powerless students who wanted their ensured survival, while others were here out of fear. Some whispered between themselves.
"It's the demon of Shinurai?"
"Why is he here too..."
"I thought it would just be Tetsuya."
Tetsuya picked up the microphone in the front of the stage. "Hello everybody! Glad you could all make it safely and unfollowed. As you might know, there is a trip coming up in a week. The location is still not announced. The president doesn't want it revealed until we are at the airport, but I have other plans." He laughed, "We are gonna take over Hawaii!"
The people cheered. Tetsuya was well-liked not just among this group, but among the entire school. Athleticism, smarts, student council, he has everything.
He waited for the cheering to slow before speaking again, "Now, yes we are going to Hawaii. What will happen is we will claim the weekly and yearly bounties! And we will split the money among yourselves! Got it?"
Yuzuru's eyes widened as he said his goals for the takeover. Taking down the bounties? We aren't allowed to do that. Megumi could find out. He took a step back before regaining his composure. I guess if it comes to it I'll have to keep the order between everyone.
The crowd cheered even louder. As Tetsuya ordered them to get out of the auditorium, he drank some water. "My plan will help the people a lot. I know you are an extreme rule follower but let this one slide. I got you here after all." He turned to Yuzuru. "Just do what I tell you. Everything will be fine."
Arc Concluded! See you soon!
