Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 - Blood Manipulation [1]

Blood Manipulation. From what I knew, it was an art that Caelus had created himself. 'Blood' wasn't a known Attribute, and so, it was pretty much unique to him. Until today that is.

After bidding the Princess farewell, Caelus grabbed me and when I opened my eyes we were in a pretty cool training room. It was an enclosed room with dummies, weapons and there was a desk with some controls.

"This training room was free, let's make it your personal one. Now then, since you're my disciple I thought if show you the power that I created through my literal blood. And that, is Blood Manipulation."

Then, in the palm of his hand, large amount of blood began to form and it was slowly condensed until it was a small ball. That small ball the entered his hand, and the blood returned to his body.

"I created Blood Manipulation for a couple reasons, the first reason and foremost reason was to make my physical abilities. However, the physical aspect I wanted to improve most was sight. By controlling my blood, I can adjust the blood flow to my eyes and increase it by several leaps and bounds. The way I manipulate blood isn't very complicated."

Then, he pointed to his heart.

"I create a vein made of Mana, and that vein constantly transfers Mana to the heart. And so, when blood reaches the heart, Mana is infused into the blood. And since your own Mana is infused into the blood, you can Manipulate it's shape and motion. I tried doing the same with my bone to strengthen them but it doesn't work right. The Mana isn't able to properly infuse itself into the bone and even if you did manage to do that, you'd have to manually add Mana into the bone all the time since you wouldn't have an organ pumping the Mana around for you."

I understood the process, but I didn't really get how I'd make a vein. And honestly, I was a bit bummed that I wouldn't be able to do things like toughen my body even further. But it was fine, Blood Manipulation would raise my physical abilities to a higher level.

But more than that, my dynamic visual acuity, kinetic vision and even my ability to see in the dark would improve by leaps and bounds.

"My Blood Manipulation technique can also be used for things like making weapons, ranged attacks and whatever else really. I pretty much only use it for the boost to my eye sight, you'll have to use it yourself to see why I like it so much."

Then, he smiled at me.

"The reason I don't use Blood Manipulation for ranged attacks, despite it being superior to water Manipulation is because using too much blood will kill me. I can replace a little with Healing Magic but it has limits. But you... so long as you have Mana you'll have blood to use for your attacks. So, you'll pretty much have access to a better variant of Water Attribute Magic."

Then, he placed his hand on my chest, above my heart.

"I'm going to show you the flow of Mana, don't resist my Mana."

Normally, you couldn't inject your Mana into someone else's as the flow of Mana would be disrupted by their innate resistance and their own Mana. But, if you allowed it to flow into you, it would do just that.

The Mana that was being injected into me slowly formed the basis of the structure that would be my 'Mana Vein.' And so, I used my own Mana to create a similar structure, the structure connected my core to my heart.

"Now, we'll need to use a part of your Mana Core for the creation of the Vein. It won't do anything bad assuming we do this right, do don't do anything and just trust me."

And so, I felt a part of my Mana Core get chipped by Caelus, I felt some pain from it but it wasn't too bad. And so, the piece of my Core that had been chipped off was slowly being molded into something that could connect my heart and core.

After around twenty minutes, my vein had been formed and Caelus sighed.

"That's the biggest the vein should be, if it was any bigger it'd just cause issues for both your Core and heart. The part I chipped off will come back naturally. Anyways, after a bit, you'll feel the blood in your body slowly coming under your control."

I glared at Caelus, he didn't tell me that the procedure to unlock Blood Manipulation would be so dangerous. Well, he probably knew I might consider not accepting the ability if it could cause permanent damage to my Core. After all, even I didn't know if I could heal damage done to the Mana Core.

Well, there wasn't any use in getting angry.

I now had a new ability, a very useful one.

"Wait... instead of using Mana to strengthen and toughen my blood. Why don't I use Arcane Magic?"

A/N: If you have Qs on Blood Manipulation let me know and I'll answer them as best I can, if I can answer them at all.
