Mia's legs were trembling as she ran, the sound of werewolves getting closer and closer behind her. Fear gripped her heart as she felt their presence closing in. She could no longer hear April's voice, but she knew she couldn't give up. She had to keep running. But just as Mia was losing hope, a sudden voice halted her in her tracks.
"No, we're not giving up," April declared, her determination resonating in her words.
Mia caught her breath and looked back at April, her friend's unwavering gaze giving her renewed strength. They locked eyes for a moment before Mia nodded, her resolve reignited.
"The boys are ahead of us," April continued, her voice steady. "We can't stop now. We have to keep pushing forward."
With a shared determination, Mia and April ran towards the unknown, the howling of the werewolves fading into the distance.
Meanwhile, far ahead from Mia and April, the boys were navigating their own path.
Kyle, an experienced athlete, didn't mind the physical exertion of running. He saw it as good exercise, an opportunity to test his limits. The night was cold, and he frowned, sensing that something was amiss.
"Kyle, you're sinking!" Mike exclaimed, fear evident in his eyes.
Before he could react, Kyle felt himself falling, his body crashing onto the tiled floor of his bedroom. Agitated, Kyle rubbed his eyes, trying to make sense of the disorienting situation.
"Ugh, not this dream again!" he muttered in frustration.
It seemed like he had been having these bizarre dreams all week, and they were starting to take a toll on him. Just then, he felt a soft object hit him on the back. Turning around, he was met with the dark red eyes of his sister April.
"Get up, dummy," she scolded him. "I don't need you sleeping in all day."
Annoyed, Kyle retorted, "I don't need you throwing pillows at me, April. And stop calling me 'dummy'. "
This playful banter had become a routine between the siblings. April, being the caring but mischievous older sister, had been an essential part of Kyle's life since childhood. However, their time together was coming to an end as April was leaving for Power Art School in just two days.
It was early morning, the sky was still dark, and everything was calm except for the vampires who were out and about draining human blood. That is why everyone in the city, including them, should obtain automatic house protectors. Domestic vampires who fed on animals were also affected.
As the early morning light filtered in through the window, Kyle noticed something unusual. The familiar protective metallic windows that shielded their house were missing, and he felt a sense of unease settling over him.
"Wait, how am I able to see outside?" he questioned. "Something's not right."
Kyle's intuition heightened, and April sensed his unease.
"That's exactly why I came up here," she confessed, her eyes filled with concern. But before she could explain, a loud crashing noise interrupted their conversation, abruptly shifting the course of events.
