"Alright, I see that you guys are well bonded and all, let's get down to business immediately. Follow me." It was a bit slow, but they walked all the way to where Daru was taking them.
"Being such a great and loving teacher, I've decided to bring you bunch to the testing centre..."
"The orb stage?" Koro chipped in.
"The testing centre. This is where you'll get to know what attribute you have, of course, I'll be paying."
'Isn't this kind of free for freshly graduated sutori?' Every other parson thought to themselves, but decided to keep the thought to themselves knowing that it would bring nothing fruitful in return.
"Alright, let's head in."
Entering the building, the inside seemed to look bigger and more spacious than the outside.
'Is this some kind of space related seal? It's nice, very useful.' Kazi thought to himself. Making seals was the basics of making talismans after all. In that sense, other things other than talismans can be created, like the seal that makes the testing building big on the inside despite being a normal sized building on the outside. The seals are basically codes while the talisman are the end product, in that sense, they can also be used to make other things except apart from talismans which are battle based and all for the most part.
"Daru? What brings you here?" The man sitting behind a brown table asked with a surprised face, though, not one in good fate exactly.
"I brought these bunch for testing, hurry it up."
'I can't believe these guys also wear lab coats...' Kazi was quite amazed at that.
"Why would you be guiding a bunch of third class though?" The man asked.
"None of your business, just test the children, Gambi."
"Ehh, whatever. You guys come this way. Hey, I said come this way!" Gambi didn't really yell, but he spoke in a higher volume the second time.
"I don't need to, I already know my attribute." Lanira said. "I have the fire attribute." She seemed proud of her attribute as she couldn't stop the smirk on her face from showing.
"I also know my attribute already." Linx said, casting a side eye at Daru for a short moment.
"Oh, big clans, huh? Well, the rest of you come along."
The three of them walked towards the big machine sitting in the centre of the large room.
'Even though I know this already,I still am fascinated that they have computers even after focusing all their uses of ora on fighting and killing.'
Kazi was the first to test his attribute. He walked forward onto the spot where he would place his hand on a big orb the size of a small car. After about ten seconds, he removed his hand as he was told to.
"..."
"Come on, call the results already, will you?"
"Hey Daru, where did you get this kid?"
"Huh?"
"Kid, you are actually a dualist, you have Two elements, fire and wind. It's a good combination too as they work well with each other."
Kazi smiled a bit to show happiness, he already had an idea of what his attributes would be, 'but to think that only these two attributes were recognised, even better.' He thought to himself.
Koro and Ann also checked theirs. Koro had the earth attribute while Ann had the water attribute.
As for their individual affinity with each of the attributes, that could not be measured, at least not for free and not there. Naturally, most people don't tend to check that since they would naturally know once they start practicing with their specific attribute.
"Alright, now that we all know our stuff, let's head out back to the training ground for the main training. Also, I'll get each one of you a C rank technique that I think is good for you, so perform well during training." Daru said, while they walked back to the training ground.
'C rank? That's awfully generous, what's the catch? Sure, it's not another mission right?' Kazi thought in his mind, but he was sure the sensible ones also caught on.
After getting to the training ground, Daru took some time to show each one of them fighting styles that he said would be best for them. Though, he did need the others except Linx and Kazi to fight him in a spar match, since he was yet to see what they could really do.
As for Linx and Kazi, Daru had already made his analysis from all the things they did while on the last mission.
Of course, the kahate taught in the academy was only a foundational one, so everyone would need to make their own improvements and learn more advanced kahate themselves. Some people never even learn any other kahate and still prosper and survive until they die of old age, while masters of a particular kahate die in their twenties. The point is, it does not affect so much.
'Techniques rule the world, not fancy martial arts. Once I develop my ultimate technique, I won't need to even move to kill.' Kazi thought to himself as of course, he already knew what would work best for him, more like what he wanted the most.
. . . Ten minutes later . . .
"Yes, you are terrible, as expected." Daru commented after experiencing the three fight against him.
"But captain, I've always heard that techniques rule all." Koro said while balling both fists to his side with a huge smile splashed across his face.
"Yeah, true, but what will you do is someone who specialises in close combat appears before you? Well, even then they would have to use a technique that is related to their kahate."
"Oh, I see."
"You see nothing, now let's begin proper training. As for the two of you, your training is different."
