Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Eve Of The War II

While the scions of the Lin Empire reveled in their schemes, the hall of the Blood Conquering Empire held a solemn air of determination. Ot Khan, the most mature and physically imposing among Emperor Ot Charles's sons, rose to speak. Clutching a letter in hand, he addressed the Scions gathered in the hall with a grave expression.

"I have summoned you all, regardless of which Royal Prince's banner you pledged allegiance to, due to the Royal decree and letter from my Royal Father, the mighty Emperor Ot Charles, known as the ASURA," Ot Khan began. "His Majesty's decree is clear and unwavering—we must unite, fight this war, and emerge victorious. Furthermore, he instructs that all Princes are to look after one another. Those who rescue a fellow Prince from death will be honored, while any Prince deemed weak and saved will be stripped of their title as a member of the Royal Clan. These are the exact words of our revered Emperor."

Kneeling in unison, the assembled declared, "With the last drop of our blood, it shall be obeyed," before rising to reclaim their seats. Among them, eleven Royal Empire Princes occupied the top tier, with Ot Khan seated at the center.

Ot Tang, a Prince from the top tier, narrowed his eyes in contemplation and posed a question, "Since we are to unite, who shall lead us in battle?"

A derisive snort escaped Ot Khan's lips as he responded forcefully, "Of the 888 children our father has fathered, with the passing of approximately 680, there remain 200 of us. Out of those 200, 143 shall partake in this war. Of these 143, eleven possess the strength to become city Lords, each governing one of the eleven cities under the Blood Conquering Empire. Now, I ask my ten brethren atop this tier, who among you princes or you Scions of different powers can defeat me?"

His voice resonated with authority as he challenged his peers.

Ot Luan, a Princess seated among the top-tier Princes, radiated an air of ethereal beauty. She responded with a haughty laugh, her voice laced with arrogance, "Ot Khan, my great and formidable brother, do not allow your power to cloud your judgment. Hope you are preparing for the war of successors already? How intriguing!" She continued with a mocking tone, "Let us see just how formidable you truly are when that time comes."

Ot Khan's expression grew grave as he pondered the implications of the war of successors. Should he falter in the war of successors, it would mean certain death for him and the other contenders, as whosoever wins among the contenders will view the other contenders as potential threats to the throne, and according to their law all threats should be killed. He steeled himself with determination knowing that he has to win this battle for the ancestral zone so as to have more allies and support tied to him. He responded resolutely, "I will cross that bridge when I come to it, Luan. It is none of your concern." Casting a stern gaze upon everyone assembled, he added, "If anyone doubts my qualifications to lead us in war, speak now or forever hold your peace until the next thirty days, when this war is concluded."

The tension in the room was palpable as each person weighed the consequences of challenging Ot Khan. Though they possessed the resolve to fight to the death, they were not willing to sacrifice themselves needlessly, for they have all heard and seen the ruthless means of Ot Khan who kills all challengers even his brothers are not spared. Ot Khan observed everyones' avoidance of his gaze, and a satisfied grin crossed his face. He laughed heartily and declared, "Now, let us continue with our preparations."

The fire of determination and bloodlust blazed in the eyes of all present as they delved into their plans for the impending battle. Their collective resolve solidified, and they were ready to face the horrors of war.

As the eve of the battle drew to a close, the world braced itself for the impending clash of titans, as the empires prepared to unleash their heirs upon the battlefield.
