Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The War III

The room fell into a stunned silence as all eyes remained fixed on Su Bei. Her proposition seemed to defy expectations, considering her usual role as a business strategist.

Prince Lin Vin, eager to hear her idea, asked, "What did you say, Su Bei?"

Xuan Ning was skeptical but curious. "Do you really have an idea regarding warfare, Lady Su?"

Su Bei nodded resolutely. She had her reasons for wanting to prove herself beyond her business acumen.

Ren Po couldn't help but question her knowledge of war. "Su Bei, you're stepping into unfamiliar territory here."

Su Bei, determined to be heard, responded, "I may not be a war strategist, but I have an idea that could help. You're free to accept or reject it."

Prince Lin Vin was open to hearing her out. "Please, share your idea, Su Bei."

Su Bei took a deep breath before presenting her plan. "First, I agree with Young Lord Ren. We need to ascertain the intentions of the Blood Conquering Empire. Let's send messenger birds with letters and also dispatch carts carrying war supplies to them. As for the Heavenly Don Empire, given the distance, we can't rely on their help. To maintain our façade, we should arrange a grand, welcoming banquet in the city. At the same time, discreetly move essential resources out of the city. Have the soldiers lay down their weapons while taking positions for a possible escape. These are my suggestions."

A stunned silence hung in the room. Xuan Ning, breaking the silence, approached Su Bei and raised her glass in a toast. "Su Bei, may I call you sister?"

Su Bei replied with a smile, "It would be my honor."

Xuan Ning playfully added, "Wonderful! Your Highness, I think my sister's idea is the most prudent course of action. Does anyone disagree?"

The room remained quiet, and everyone appeared convinced by Su Bei's plan.

Prince Lin Vin, making the final decision, proclaimed, "Since we're all in agreement, let's move forward and execute my orders based on Su Bei's ideas."

In the Blood Conquering Empire's camp, they marched in military formation. Prince Ot Tang rode his horse alongside Prince Ot Khan's chariot.

Ot Tang voiced his concern. "Brother Khan, are you absolutely certain about this? Despite our differences, you are still my elder brother."

Ot Khan was taken aback by this display of concern. In the ruthless hierarchy of the Blood Conquering Empire, it was unusual to find a sibling displaying compassion.

Ot Khan responded with a hint of pride, "Little Tang, whether your concern is genuine or a ruse, one thing is certain: to secure victory in this war, we must first vanquish the Lin Empire entirely."

Ot Tang appeared puzzled. "I don't quite understand. Why is that?"

Yun Lee and Ot Tang looked at Ot Khan, awaiting an explanation.

Ot Khan, maintaining an air of authority, continued, "Stop asking questions; you will understand soon. What I can assure you is that if the Lin Empire willingly surrenders the city, we won't need to spill unnecessary blood."

Yun Lee couldn't help but sigh, recognizing the cryptic nature of Ot Khan's words.
