Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: 2 Strange People

As the world prepared for the impending war, in a modest restaurant nestled within one of the cities under the rule of the Blood Conquering Empire, an enigmatic figure sat shrouded in a hooded cloak. His entire body was concealed by his attire, leaving only his eyes exposed. A palpable air of unease swept through the restaurant as patrons exchanged wary glances. An unspoken understanding coursed through them, cautioning them against provoking the hooded visitor.

The stranger remained seated with his gaze fixed upon the ceiling. Despite his obscured face, onlookers could discern an ever-shifting range of emotions playing across his features, oscillating between frowns and moments of inexplicable joy.

While the patrons scrutinized the first hooded figure, another similarly dressed individual entered the establishment and joined him. Both figures commenced a silent, incomprehensible exchange that left those around them deeply intrigued and disconcerted.

The mysterious duo were named named Du and Mo. Du the one who has already been seated there for a while now inquired, "What have you discovered about them? Are we in the right place?"

Mo responded, "Based on the description provided by our Lord, this should be the correct location."

Du questioned further, "I am puzzled by something. This place is brimming with spiritual energy, particularly Alpha spiritual energy, which is considered beneficial and essential for everyone. Yet, every person I sense in this realm appears to be nothing more than ordinary mortals. Did they not say that humans are the most favored race of both heaven and earth? What could be amiss?"

Mo retorted with frustration, "I cannot provide an explanation. All I know is that we are tasked with fulfilling our mission and ensuring this realm becomes inhabitable solely for our race."

Du mused with a furrowed brow, "But with the Alpha energy present, we could coexist with them in harmony. Why must we render this realm uninhabitable for other races?"

Mo, growing increasingly agitated, responded, "I have no answers. The Lord has proclaimed that this realm originally belonged to our race. In any case, our current concern should be devising a plan to execute the Lord's will."

Du nodded, offering a solution, "Why do we not wait and observe their impending war? Once the battle has run its course, we can use it as our starting point to implement our plans."

Mo agreed, and together, they departed from the inn. As they left, the other patrons inside the establishment abruptly rose from their seats, hurriedly following the mysterious duo in an attempt to ascertain their intentions.

Meanwhile, a small crowd had gathered outside the inn, led by a zealous group determined to track the hooded figures. These individuals were not inclined to ignore the presence of strangers in their city, especially in this period of war.

A merchant named Kael was at the forefront, his curiosity piqued by the enigmatic figures. "Come, my friends," Kael urged the others, "we mustn't let these strangers elude us. Who are they, and what business do they have in our domain?"

As they scoured the area, the group discovered an unobtrusive alleyway that led into an obscure part of the city. The hooded duo, however, had managed to vanish without a trace, as if they had never existed.

The city lord of this particular domain, Princess Ot Luan, was informed about the peculiar incident. With a mischievous chuckle, she observed, "What an amusing turn of events. I daresay we have been graced with peculiar visitors today."

One of her advisors chimed in, "Your Highness, could they be spies or agents from one of the other empires?"

Ot Luan leaned back in her throne, her eyes reflecting a rare hint of intrigue. "Perhaps, but the notion of spies dressed in such conspicuous attire is rather comical. We shall keep an eye on this peculiar situation. For now, let them wander. As long as they don't disrupt our plans for the impending war, they pose no threat."

The city returned to its preparations for the impending conflict, blissfully unaware of the enigmatic forces that now stirred beneath its surface. Unbeknownst to all, the fate of the realm rested precariously in the hands of the unseen, enigmatic visitors.

The city continued its preparations for the impending war, unaware of the hidden powers lurking in the shadows.
