Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: He said exactly the same words as in the past.

"Fear and hate Sometimes I wonder which one is stronger. It's ironic that I used to believe they were both divorced from each other. I didn't realize they were connected until I realized that you can't fear something until you hate it. That is to say, your hatred is the source of your fear. And it will remain if you do not stop hating. That is, if you want to overcome your fear, you must stop hating the thing you despise the most. That sounds pretty noble, doesn't it? But how can a hatred that had built up over a year of torment and had penetrated deep into the bones be stopped with the words "Just stop your hatred?" Is that even making sense?"

Yin Lan choked hard because of the unbalanced rush of her emotions. The voice of the gunshot was still loud and clear in her ears. The appearance of Liang Chen out of the blue when she was about to kill Xui Nuying was something strange but not rare. What can she do about the fact that she was only the wife of Liang Chen in the name because the person Liang Chen loved so much was Xui Nuying?

"How cruel!" Yinlan's eyes lowered when dejected complaints left her lips.

"My presence was so loathsome that he didn't even hesitate to pull the trigger in order to kill me in the midst of saving my sister." Yinlan's eyes were all filled with water, and her hatred was rising because of the betrayal. She didn't care whether he loved her or not because the time she spent with him gave her the impression that a person like him couldn't give love to anyone.

But one thing was breaking her heart—that person didn't even care about his child either. What kind of husband does these things to their wife and even to their son? Now anger flared in her eyes.

The hate that has now surfaced inside her cannot be described in millions of words. She couldn't believe all the time she had been locked inside the basement, thinking only about him. She believes that one day he will come to save her and her son because she used to be his wife. But why did that man only come when she was taking her revenge?

Yin Lan truly loves him because he is the love of her life, but what does she receive in return?

Betrayal!

All the love of her husband was shifted towards her sister, who locked Yinlan in the basement.

There was not a single ounce of love, let alone a fake smile showering on her from her husband. There was a strong sense of melancholy rising in her heart. What a cruel fate the marriage of her with Liang Chen was not decided by her nor her divorce.

She was preoccupied with her ailment when she noticed the person standing in front of her start moving towards the bed.

As soon as she noticed the movement, her eyes widened with fear because his body was half-naked with only his pants on—that is, he was standing without a shirt.

She abruptly shifted her eyes, but a stream of fear that was flowing inside her made her look at him again.

She sighs quietly as the lightning flashes its lights within the room. "Someone with a slender body, bulging muscles, and a six-pack over their stomach. And the face, which is encrusted with the allure of handsomeness and innocence. With that kind of physics, which can make anyone fall for him with a single glance, who could have thought he was nothing more than a monster? A monster who does not deserve my love. I had loved him my entire life, but all I got in return was his torment, humiliation, and eventually death." She soon turned her gaze away in anger after glancing at him briefly. But then she found herself feeling calm.

She slowly closed her eyes as the moments of her past life started to flash in front of her. Now sorrow was engulfing her strongly. She wished for his love all of her past life, but she was only miserable in the end for wanting that.

She wishes to know what her fault was. It was not her choice to get married to him, so why did his rage and hatred shift towards her? Why did she think she might be able to change him someday when she already knew there was already a person in his life who he loved?

This revelation made Yinlan's heart sink deeper into despair.

Sadly, closing her eyes in pain, she whispers, "I was making a mistake while waiting for him."

There were strong lingering emotions inside her because she truly loved him in her last life. and the thing she only wanted from him was a little compassion. "But I guess I was not even worthy of that," She mocked herself with a self-depriving chuckle.

She had so many questions, that she wished to ask Liang Chen.

As she was contemplating her never-ending remorse, a voice resounded in the lonely chamber.

"I didn't know you were this cunning to get your meaning." In the midst of the rain, a deep, hoarse, chilling voice covered with mockery wishes to be heard. That voice was so intimidating for Yin Lan to respond.

She had heard those chilling voices many times in her past life, which is why she knows what comes after. She wished to leave the room, but she was paralyzed. in fear. But fear was not the only source of her immobility. The drug was the reason too.

Her eyebrows furrowed in grief as she grumbled, "Cunning?"

"Me...?"

She sadly looked towards him with unwavering eyes and thought to herself, "He is calling me cunning again. He is the same at all; he has not even changed. He has no idea that the person he calls cunning is nothing but a clay doll that doesn't have its own cast until it is properly molded by craftsmen. He always jumps to conclusions before hearing my end of the story. He didn't let me explain why I disappeared before our wedding day. What exactly happened to me? And who was the guy who sent me home?"

Her teeth grated over one another as she sobbed, thinking, "But once he came to look for me, he said the same thing in the same voice: "I didn't know you were this cunning."

"He said exactly the same words as in the past."

Now she felt her heart sink in eternal pain.

Her eyes flickered unconsciously and then desperately got fixed on him, who was silently asking him, "What right does he have to say those words to me? Just because I love him, he can say anything he wants. Why? If I never said anything to him, then why is he saying those words to me?"

"And why is he not even making an effort to listen to me at all? Is my voice so uncomfortable in his ears that he won't even let me speak?"

She found that her eyes were getting all wet again. but she never changes her sight at all. She only wanted someone to tend to her pain, which she was feeling. She now feels that her heart is being ripped apart bit by bit.

She wanted to cry properly. She wished to cover her face with her hand and wipe all of her tears away. She wished to veil her eyes with her hand so she would not see the sight of him either, but what an irony! She can't even make herself do so either. Her whole body was immobile, so all she could do was remain still like before.

She was really feeling pathetic when her attention suddenly gripped something.

She realizes that those words he speaks are exactly the same as before, like her past life. Then, a sorrowful exclamation leaves her mouth: "I really have traveled into the past."
