As the new citizens got settled, the Ghost convened the Key Counsel for an emergency meeting.
"What's this about Ghost?"
"We have received intel from the new people we just took in."
"And what's that?"
"Reagan and the King of Chicago have things planned for us. I plan to deal with this issue before it gets any bigger."
"How so? Do we even have the resources for such feat?"
"We do. I plan on recruiting the rest of Lower Illinois to our cause. Everyone, it is time we march upon Chicago and burn it down to the shit stained bricks it was built on."
"Ghost, the Busch Hunter, be honest, is he..."
"Yes, his mission is to recruit plenty of towns and villages to our cause."
"Dear god, so much for voting to separate Chicago from the main state."
The room was filled with murmurs as the Ghost raised his hand to quiet the noise.
"Consider this a trial run, training for the main attack on the New World Order."
"This...THIS could work! If we can hit a bigger entity and win, we can set the stage. Stack the deck in our favor."
"Exactly! I will lead an all out ground attack on Chicago. Cassie, Keith and their crews will lead the naval assault on Chicago. I have left something really special for the Liberty Lurkers to handle. While our factories have been busy, I've given the order for HA-40 suits to be made. We already have 23 done and 78 on the way."
"Ghost, this is ambitious, but you've always steered us right. Lead us to another victory, our first big victory!"
As the weeks went by, New Ottawa was seemingly silent, but on the last day, December 21st, the New Ottawan gates opened up, revealing the new army of New Ottawa. The metallic sound of HA-40's rose over the land as the army left their home. The Witches and Lone Star Republic torn up the Illinois river, looking to meet the Ghost and his army.
As they marched, they were lead by the Ghost, decked out in his brand new ODPA or Ottawa Defender Powered Armor. The armor was in the colors of the Ottawa flag, white and green. Arrowheads were also painted on the armor. The tattered American flag waved on his back as his left hand had a firm grip on the fifty pound sledge hammer he was wielding. The New Ottawans marched the roads as trucks and tanks paced in front of them.
As they marched, they met the Busch Hunter and his army in the ruins of Aurora.
"Jesus, had you told me you were bringing an legion of troops, I would've rest more, cracked a few beers."
"We are within victory distance, we can not afford to falter now. All troops! MARCH!"
As they neared the gates to Chicago, the King and Reagan had been caught with their pants down.
"Reagan...I THOUGHT you said they weren't organized."
"I had no idea..."
"This must be the work of their leader."
"The Ghost, yes."
"Send all available troops to deal with them."
"Yes your Kingship."
As the gates, the Ghost stood on top of a burned out pile of cars.
"YOU SEE! THEY FEAR US! TODAY THIS WILL BE REMEMBER AS THE LAST DAY OF CHICAGO!"
As he trust his hammer into air, the troops cheered and the tanks rolled over the gates.
"No prisoners, spare civilians."
The tanks opened fired a barrage of shells into the city, signaling the fifty some Huey helicopters to begin their run. As the helicopters rushed into the city, they took O'Hare and Midway airports in their first act.
"Ghost, Oscar and Mike secured. Begin your attack."
"Roger that!"
As the King of Chicago watched, the New Ottawan forces breached his defenses, and his lands. He was helpless to help his people as the Ottawans tore into his soldiers with a tenacity they would rival demons. As he turned to run, the Overlord decked out in the golden OCPA, was staring him down.
"Going somewhere...Your highness?"
"I was just.."
"Sitting down? Awaiting the Ghost of Ottawa to arrive?"
"Yes. I was."
"Good, now stay seated or I'll have no choice but to kill you."
