After five days, Eleazar is back in college again.
Nearly a week had passed, and everyone seemed to have forgotten the heavy grief.
Colored flags were flying all over the school as if it was some kind of festival.
Eleazar is a little curious about asking Fina out.
"Oh, you mean that... the school is getting ready for the field day."
"Uh..."
Eleazar was silent.
This kind of out-of-the-l limelight activity, in junior high and high school he had no chance at all to participate in it, and could only wave flags on the sidelines to cheer everyone on, and now, well... It was better not to be in the limelight.
"Are you in?"
"Me? Forget it... The leg injury is not healed yet."
Fina glanced at him.
Suddenly realizing something, Eleazar asked rhetorically, "You're in?"
"Uh-huh!"
Fina replied flatly, but there was a gleam in her eyes and she looked energized.
"So... Good luck with the ranking?"
Eleazar was at a loss for words for a moment.
This guy has been a good eater since he was a kid, and now he's going to compete.
How could she stand the pain of training, she'd probably want to find a reason to bolt in a few days.
Fina's eyes narrowed, her gaze suddenly becoming dangerous.
"You mock me!"
"Huh? I didn't..."
Eleazar's heart fluttered and his face tried desperately to remain calm.
But Fina had seen through him long ago and balked.
"And there you have it!"
"You just called me a slacker in your mind!"
Fina huffed and clasped her arms, her head twisting to the side.
"I'm ignoring you!"
"Hey, don't..."
Eleazar, with his head full, scooted his chair over and sat down with a good deal of coaxing.
That couple is so annoying!
The open-air coffee shop was surrounded by people casting murderous glances.
"Hmph!" Fina tilted her head.
"I want pudding!"
"Fine, fine, I'll get it."
Eleazar got up quickly as if saved and went to the front desk to order two puddings.
"Hello, Shingo $20."
The lady at the cash register covered her mouth and snickered.
Eleazar smiled helplessly and paid, looking back.
Soft afternoon sunshine, a white dress girl sitting under the sun umbrella, exasperatedly holding her arm, chin slightly raised, half-closed eyes to the side to steal a glance, looks naive and cute.
Noticing that he was also peeking, she instantly raised an eyebrow and gave another exasperated glare.
Eleazar laughed dryly and hurried back.
The clerk put two desserts on the counter from serving them.
"Hello customer, here's your order of milkshake pudding~"
"Thanks..."
Eleazar held up the tray and had just finished smiling and thanking him when the pupils of his eyes snapped shut.
Behind the waitress, that bright cupboard door, the reflection of a minivan expanded rapidly.
"Pfft-"
The heart skipped a beat, breathing stopped, and the colors around them faded instantly.
The tray holding the two bowls of pudding fell slowly, the arms that had discarded them had been withdrawn, and the figure sprang forward in an arrow's pace.
"Pfft, pfft, pfft..."
The violently undulating heartbeat exploded in his eardrums, and his flesh, which had been filled with mysterious energy in an instant, exploded with incredible potential.
"Unlocked, all protective restrictions are unlocked!"
This roaring up intention instantly traveled from the nerve bundles to all parts of the body, and the sea of consciousness set off a monstrous wave.
The footsteps once again heavily stepped down, as the floor crumbled, a round of air waves to the back of the explosion, indescribable pain from all parts of the body.
"Ahem..."
Spewing out a mouthful of blood, his figure seemed to break through the sound barrier, finally rushing to catch that incomparably important thing dead center in his arms before the truck arrived.
Lifting his head, the front of the car with its terrifying might at his side was close at hand.
He only had time to reach out...
[Warning!
[Kinetic shock level: 2!
The brain analyzed the result in an instant, the impact carried by this van was enough to have the power of an intermediate spell, and his current physique would be seriously injured if he stood hard against it.
Eleazar deadpanned.
The next second, the impact came.
"Boom ----"
"Zee ----"
"Crack!"
"Ah ----"
Passersby who witnessed the scene let out high-frequency screams.
The out-of-control van slammed headfirst into the open-air restaurant, dragging along with a piercing noise as if it had struck something heavy before its head sagged and its rear end rose high.
The passersby on either side of the road who had managed to get away with it blanched as if their blank brains hadn't reacted yet and sat back on their asses.
The open-air restaurant had been penetrated by a shattered gully, and at the center of the accident, a young man, half crouching on the ground, with his hand outstretched against the dented front of the car while shielding the young girl in his arms in death, was toppled out of the restaurant.
Eleazar, his hair disheveled and his face covered in dust and blood, laughs hard, "Are you alright..."
Fina cupped her hands to her chest and stared at him blankly.
"I'm... It's okay..."
That's the good thing about her, she's not like the other girls who yell and scream at the slightest mishap and are completely disorganized.
Eleazar grinned a little wolfishly, then pain rose to his face as he pulled his somewhat twisted arm out of the front of the car.
Staggering to her feet, Fina hugged him back, burying a low sob in her shoulder.
Eleazar looked around weakly.
The whole street fell silent as people cast horrified eyes from store doors, windows, under trees, on the sidewalk, and everywhere, watching the tragic traffic accident.
The driver died instantly and horizontally, crushed alive by the inward-collapsing cab.
The coffee shop clerk came running over in a panic...
Eleazar took a deep breath.
"Fina, don't cry yet, I'll show you something."
"Hmm...?"
The face that had cried like a flower cat lifted, teary-eyed.
A dark gem appeared in her sight, followed by a flash of purple light.
Eleazar pours all of his spirituality into the mind ring and holds it aloft.
A dazzling purple light exploded through the streets, darkening even the sky.
At this moment, I don't know how many people jerked their heads up.
"Hmm? High-ranked spells!"
The entire street had gone silent, and people were instantly disoriented, like walking corpses.
Eleazar shakily pulls out a healing potion, bites off the cork, and drinks it in one gulp.
The toxicity spread quickly through the crippled body, forcing the injuries to heal, surging with the slightest pain and strength.
Eleazar gritted his teeth and left the place with a stiffened Fina.
The pain of being completely drained spiritually is more painful than the ravages on the physical body.
Eleazar covered his head, which was about to explode, and stumbled to a bench outside the school gates and sat down on his butt.
"Ah..."
He gripped the armrests of the seat hard until they were deformed and twisted and even on the verge of ripping off before letting go, his veiny and sinewy palms groping around him, looking for something to lend his strength to, and finally touching a hot, petite body...
The palm retracted like an electric shock and hammered heavily into the space at his side.
"Click crack!" The pedestrians around him came and went, anytime he was abnormal that they might notice.
Eleazar bent over in agonizing pain, covering his face with his hands, his body trembling constantly, looking like he was crying helplessly.
A pair of shoes suddenly appeared in sight, but it was completely impossible to see who it was with the vision already blurred down.
"You've got too much guts, don't you, you're all like this and you still dare to drink alchemy potion?"
Dr. Robert's voice came and loosened his taut body.
