Chapter 59 - The Mystery Society

All the dust has settled.

The crowd outside the arena cheered as the first three runners crossed the finish line.

The rivals fell as far as they could, and the history department won!

On the playground, the students of the department embraced each other and chanted.

Eleazar hugs a few random people and quietly leaves the crowd.

The sorrows and joys of men are not connected; they are in a happy mass on one side, while there is silence on the other.

"It's so hard."

Looking at the rankings, which are separated by only one point, Eleazar sighs.

With transcendental descendants, bio-doping, and finally even spells, the Games were a blast.

If he had known it was going to be such a struggle, he would have signed up for more programs, which would have been so thrilling.

Thinking of their biggest contributor to this win, Eleazar turned around and looked for the figure in the sea of people

Luna-senpai, at the moment, was talking to a woman who looked like a snow elf.

A head of radiant silver hair glistened and shimmered, and the sacred body was bathed in an eye-catching halo of light.

Qishi, the student president of St. Inge Academy.

Looking at the terrifying holy light that was like an ocean, Eleazar felt a bit of fear in his heart.

This full size is too scary...

"You must hold on!"

Eleazar secretly cheers on Luna-senpai, hoping she can survive the Church's investigation.

This was a chance to obtain the Legendary Rank Material-Dragon's Blood without having to slay a dragon, and hell knows if there were any dragon species left in the outside world.

Seeing the student president say something and walk away, he didn't move.

"Hokage!"

"Hmm?"

The figure that was about to leave stopped, and a pair of eyes as clear as a lake swept over, obviously without any malice, but it just made people not help but feel intimidated.

There was great majesty between his hands and feet, and this was the Dragonborn!

Eleazar couldn't even help but inhale a slight breath of cool air and tried to calm his heartbeat saying, "Thank you for your encouragement just now, senior sister, for making me make my full strength smooth."

Luna smiled slightly, "It's none of my business, you were already good."

The schoolteacher was unexpectedly good at getting along.

Being high and cold was not her intention. It is only because of her unconscious emanation of the dragon's might that makes people look at her and retreat, coupled with the fact that she has been alone for many years, that she has formed this seemingly lonely and noble temperament.

Eleazar was slightly surprised, then smiled brightly, "You're pretty good too, senior sister, it's the first time I've seen a girl with such excellent physical abilities."

She tilted her head slightly, "Nothing, I just gave it my all."

"I hope I can still work with senior sister in the coming year, then I won't disturb you, goodbye senior sister." Eleazar gazed into the other's eyes very sincerely for a moment and left with a smile on her face.

Acting with great poise.

But it was costly, and just as he turned around, he gave his heart, which had stopped beating, a hard knock.

Luna stood in a bit of a daze, seemingly still remembering the hollow pupils of the eyes she had just seen.

------

The field day officially came to an end with the Principal of the college taking the stage to address the audience who had gathered in a cloud to express their gratitude amidst the music played by the band.

Once the outsiders had pretty much dispersed, the principal officially declared the event a success, while recognizing every athlete who participated.

Finalized the spots for tomorrow's school trip.

The students of Engineering, Astronomy, and History cheered loudly.

The final speeches were over, and after the meeting broke up everyone was either happy or sullen enough to clean up the scene.

Eleazar moved the table absentmindedly.

That cup of Transcendental Black Tea still still got to him.

But the boy with the glasses could no longer be found, and he looked at his classmates who were moving tables together around him and took the opportunity to ask:

"Class, do you know this Miss Seebel person?"

The boy looked up in bewilderment and thought hard for half a day before finally shaking his head.

He didn't know that.

But at the time when the name 'Seebel' was uttered, the envious glances thrown around were not fake.

It may take an older student to know.

It's also true that all the people doing the grunt work here now are freshmen, so what the hell do they know?

Eleazar had to shrug and get back to work.

With a physically inhuman presence like him, they made quick work of the errand.

The two temporary partners were very enthusiastic about buying him a drink.

Eleazar, as usual, politely declined with a very nonconformist smile and then wandered around the complex alone for a bit.

The hallways are full of signs, and it seems that the main purpose of the building is, to set up activity rooms for various clubs.

But I heard that the school was going to cut a lot of pointless clubs as a way to free up more classrooms, and it was going to be done right around the time of their study trip.

No wonder there's been a lot of wailing in schools the last few days.

Eleazar walks slowly for a while and stops abruptly.

A very subtle, ethereal scent seeped down from the ceiling.

He looked up a little incredulously.

How dare someone play mysterious under the eyes of the Church!

It was simply unbearable, he must go up there and see what kind of person was doing the killing.

Walking quickly to the stairs, Eleazar grabbed the handrail and headed upstairs.

The 4th-floor hallway, again, is lined with club rooms.

"The Lightning Club..."

"The Literature Department..."

"The art club..."

"The Mystery Society..."

Stopping in front of that last event room, Eleazar looked at the sign in disbelief.

He felt ready to go back.

How would a Transcendent dare to seek death so blatantly, I'm afraid that the only ones who would dare to make such a move would be those ordinary people who had half a clue.

Maybe the society has been under surveillance for a long time and is being used by the church to catch the big fish.

Eleazar already kind of wants to leave, but it always feels a little bit bad not to look inside.

"Where the hell do they get their smoky incense from?"

It was a high-grade herbal artifact, a fine meditation aid, and in the Dark Ages it was an unusual thing to find everywhere.

But put in the present era of transcendental retreat, once this kind of thing is lit, it is like a candle flame in the darkness and will be met with the side-eye of all transcendentalists.

Eleazar thought about it and knocked on the door.

"Eh? Coming!"

An energetic female voice came from inside.

Then the door to the room opened, revealing a dimly lit activity room inside.

The lights went out, the windows were covered by curtains that completely blacked out the light, and several rows of candles were lit on the floor in the shape of six-pointed stars.

The girl greeted him very warmly, "Hello sir, may I ask if you are also a believer in the pursuit of the Mystery?"

Eleazar: "..."

He suddenly felt bad for the enchanted incense that had been lit.

Eleazar rubbed his nose and asked in reply, "What are you guys up to?"

"Confidential!"

The girl immediately half-covered the door warily, "It's a secret only our members can know."

"Huh, Eleazar-san?"

At that moment, a boy with glasses peeked out from out of the darkness.

The very same black tea boy Eleazar had been looking for for half a day.
