Chapter 3 - Second Quest

The sun was rising and Steven had a good night's rest. He was so tired from his fight against the beast, but he knew that he would have more fights again with beasts because of the profession he had chosen.

"I saw some notifications appear when I defeated the beast last night. What were those? let me see what those were".

[Quest completed]

[50 exp received]

Steven rubbed his eyes and looked at the screen. He had received 50 experience points for defeating the beast, and he was now only 48 points away from leveling up. He wondered what would happen when he reached level 2. Would he gain a skill or unlock new quests? Let me check my status screen and see what else has changed.

[Name: Steven Grayson]

[Level 1]

[Hunter's rank: recruit]

[Exp: 52/100]

[Strength: 7]

[Agility: 5]

[Stamina: 10]

[Ki energy: 5]

[Stat points: 5]

The last time I checked my status screen, my stat points were zero. But what do I use my stat points for? Steven did not know what to do, he had just been opened to the real world, and he didn't even know how the system came to be. "At least can this system tell me what they are". After he said that a screen appeared.

[Stat points are usually obtained by completing quests and killing beasts. They can be used to increase one's stat making them grow stronger. It can be distributed as the user pleases]

"Now it talking. So I can either increase my strength, agility, or stamina. But which one do I feel like it is necessary to increase"

Steven pondered on how to distribute his stat points. He could invest more in strength for a more aggressive approach, or focus on agility or stamina for a more defensive manner. The choice was his but was unsure of which he should go for.

Steven brought out the beast crystal he removed from the beast after killing it, remembering the system asking him if he wanted to absorb the crystal. unsure if he should do it or not, he placed the crystal in a rucksack after hearing a familiar voice

"Hey Steven we have gotten to the nearest town, we need to restock on supplies and get a carriage so we can continue our journey to my home town"

The boat had gotten to the port of the village and they were ready to go into town. As Steven was about to get off the boat, Elijah threw a sword at him from the deck of the boat. The sword was 30-35 inches tall. Steven removes the sword from the sheath and starts to swing it around like he usually swings his wooden sword back at home before it was burned to the ground

Are you sure you can use that, it suits you Elijah asked. " Yes, I can," Steven replied confidently. "it feels light." After getting off the boat they both headed for a tavern to get something to eat.

As Steven and Elijah entered the tavern, they were greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere of the place. The smell of freshly cooked food wafted through the air, and the sound of laughter and chatter filled their ears. They found a table near the fireplace and sat down.

As they were waiting for their food, he thought about the system that had made him survive the previous night. It was strange and mysterious, but it also gave him a sense of purpose and made him think it was possible to pursue his dreams.

Their food had arrived and Steven was eating like an animal, making Elijah give him a disapproving look. But Steven was too busy enjoying his meal to notice. "It is better to calm down and eat your meal, the way you are eating wants to make me lose my appetite." Don't mind me and just enjoy your meal; Steven replied with food in his mouth.

"Anyway, am going to see the village head to lend us a carriage. So don't do anything stupid while am gone". Then I will go and explore the village a little; Steven answered.

As Steven finished his meal, Elijah left to see the village head to lend them a carriage. Steven had decided to explore the village while Elijah was gone. He walked around the village and saw interesting things. He saw children playing in the street, women selling fruits and vegetables in the market and men working in the fields.

He continued to walk around, suddenly, he heard a loud commotion coming from one of the houses nearby. Steven ran towards the house, holding his sword as he went. When he arrived, he saw that there were signs of struggle inside, a woman inside held down by a group of bandits.

[Quest: save the young lady from bandits]

Elijah has gotten to the house of the village head, there were two guards on the door and they stopped Elijah from entering the house. Let me go in you idiots, I am a beast hunter and I have something important to discuss with the village head.

Come in; The man said, allowing the guards to move out of Elijah's way. Elijah entered the building and saw the village head sitting on a chair looking out the window. "What is so important is that you want to talk to me about Hunter".

"I need you to lend me a carriage, my fellow hunter, and I would it to travel". Elijah said. Shocked by what the hunter had just said, the man looked at Elijah with a stern expression and said, "I'm sorry, Elijah, but I can't lend you a carriage. And here I was thinking a beast had entered our village.

Elijah was taken aback by the village head's refusal. he thought being a hunter would convince the man to lend them a carriage. As Elijah was about to plead his case, They heard a commotion outside the house. The village head rushed to the window and looked out. Elijah followed him and saw that there was a fight going on between two groups of people.
