Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

Jakar was silent for a while. Rahul didn't want to press with questions he could clearly see that it was not the right time, they still needed to heal.

"Look." Rahul pointed outside of the window. "They are working very hard, everyone is giving their best. You should rest for now, there's a lot we want to show you. We have our own garden."

"A garden in the frozen Lands? " Rahul nodded while smiling

"Rest for now my brother we will meet with everyone again later." He said walking towards the door to leave.

"I am sorry." Whispered Jakar.

"Hmm??"

"Nothing."

Alana was finally resting, she was laying on the floor while gazing the clouds forming, the sun like always seemed to be just painted in the sky, its heat could be barely felt outside, but in the observatory was warmer than most places in the house. Even though she intended to rest her mind she couldn't, she sat up, as her mind kept running wild in thoughts.

She kept wondering why they were all whispering the word "sorry", what were they sorry about? And her uneasiness didn't let her rest.

Later some of the warriors were already up trying to help inspired by their own family working hard, even in spite of their families protest. They didn't want to sit idle when they already felt strong enough to help.

With everyone's help the structure was prepared and the snow was pushed a side from where they were supposed to set the new part of the wintergarden. Everyone was so proud of themselves.

As some of the warriors started to feel better they wanted to help out, some went back to the town, restarting their daily activities, trying to help as much as they could.

The progress for the wintergarden was going fast, they just needed to start making the glass walls.

Later some of the warriors, the older trainees, together with Yanos, the doctor, Tobyah and Rahul, were gathered in the big dinning hall, they kept talking with eachother sharing memories, and stories.

"I find it strange that we haven't encountered any white wolfs in last days." Said one of the warriors. "Have you eaten them into extinction?" He said laughing.

"We have been wondering the same at hunting group, last time we saw them was when they gave me this leg injury. I have been waiting for my revenge, ever since that day, now I am strong." Said Lock seriously.

They all started laughing loud. Lock turned red with anger.

"My boy, we are not doubting that you are strong but there's still so much for you to learn. I am sure you will be grow even stronger Warrior, so don't rush into something just because you think you are strong. " Said one of the warriors half laughing. "It can cost your life." He said with serious face.

They all quiet, and after a while started laughing again.

Lock wanted to walked out, he went to the door to leave like a pounting child, as he opened the door Alana was passing by, she was pulled in by Tobyah and Lock one to each arm.

She was feeling awkward being there she wanted to flee.

"So this is the lady of the house!" Said one of the warriors. Raising his voice amidst the conversations that were happening.

Everyone was staring at her, she had an avarage size and height, her mahogany honey skin and her white hair was the most contrasting feature about her. She didn't look like she was intimidated or didn't carry a superiority look of a noble Lady.

Jakar's big figure got up, holding a Greataxe and walk right up to the Alana, the others remained sitted, not giving any sign of respect or aknowlegdement to her status.

Jakar stood in front of her, the two youngsters that were holding her let her go apprehensively from ahead sign from Jakar. They looked around but noone looked alarmed not even Rahul.

Alana faced Jakar, her expression was neutral, Jakar lift the Greataxe that he was holding while looking at Alana, studying her face, in one fast motion he swong next to her, the movement creat a gust of wind, that moved her hair.

"She didn't even flinch" he said laughing making everyone laugh. "Our Master has a good one."

She was handed a cup with warm wild berry wine, and sitted in a central position.

"We were told what had happened here." Jakar sat back in a chair across Alana "You saved our people from starving..."

"I gave them a choice... they took it." She said dryly, sipping the cup of wine. Jakar slightly tilted his head trying to figure out Alana. He didn't have any reason to trust her. Even if she had saved everyone from town from starving, she could be trying to gain their trust to betray them later.

"Alright..." Before he could start saying anything else Alana interject.

"Why do I own you explanations? You test me, I am guessing you going to question me next" Everyone face was stunned, they didn't expect for Alana to be so upfront.

"I never questioned why did you comeback without your Master. Or why are you only back after so long. Haven't I the right to know, why my husband is not here?" Their face turned dark, Jakar swallowed dry. It was not that Alana cared that he was not present or why it was so.

"Tsk..You haven't even met him" said one of the warriors with disapproval.

"Even so don't I have the right to know, why after months of thinking that you are dead you appear, wondering almost like dead. But my husband, your Master, is nowhere around. Am I missing something?

"You know nothing of what we went through, all the days that we had to endure knowing that we failed the only thing we were meant to protect, the only thing we could've done was to give our lifes for him, at that we failed miserably." Said Lyssann, she was the only female warrior that went to the campaign. Her height and physique were medium avarage, she wasn't that much bigger than Alana, but she was very skilled sword fighter, which meant she was very strong. Her voice sounded hurt but she didn't appear emotional at all.

Jakar looked over his shoulder, settling everyone down.

"Is like little Lyss says." Lyssann face showed annoyance by the nickname used.

"You don't know what we went through. You won't ever know our pain." He held his chest.

"No I don't, I don't know, perhaps I never will." She stood up. " But I do know how heavy it is to carry a burden for failing to protect someone dear. "
