Brushing my fingers through my hair to let out my frustration, I gave a long sigh, waiting for Serena to show up. I wouldn't have missed her if not for one of my associates who blocked my way when I was going to meet her.
It was purely a misunderstanding and I'm a little hurt that she thought the worst of me. Seeing the agonised look on her face shot an arrow in my chest.
"Damn you, Becca!" I couldn't help but cuss out my P.I for the timing. I wouldn't blame her too much though, if I had kept Rena in the loop, she would have known that Becca is a childhood friend of mine, who happened to also be a private investigator I use often.
I wasn't expecting to see her at the party and damn well wasn't expecting her to have done the job so fast. So when she came up to me to give me a run down about Serena's mother, I took her to a more quiet and private place I could find.
