On the day of the tournament, Jade entered inside through huge gates. Guards stopped her and took her to a separate place. Jade remembered Zebulon's words and followed them thinking they would be meeting there. Valerie is back at the territory she will be joining at night since she doesn't feel good. Jade let her go because unlike her Valerie needs to stay in darkness to be strong and the place to get more power is her territory. Jade wouldn't be joining if it wasn't for the request of Zebulon.
Settling down she focused on the ground. She heard loud cheering and people calling names. That's when she noticed the entry of the top powerful leaders. They sat in their places while a few children were with them. The only person she knows is the head of Valok. But Lance isn't with them.
Once they were settled, the host called out in the loudest voice she ever heard in her life.
"Please welcome our Great Emperor."
The crowd got silent and everyone bowed down giving him respect. Jade's thoughts wander to the mysterious Aide of the Emperor who is never seen, he didn't show up today. Once the Emperor settled in the host called out the names of the people who would be fighting to become the Crown Prince's Aide. The selection of the army and other posts was done on previous days.
"Crown Prince won't attend today because something came up." The host announced causing disbelief among the people. Match was the one reason to attend the tournament but another reason was to see their future Emperor. Alas, he isn't here.
"How busy can the crown prince be that he can't attend his Aide selection?" people gossiped in disbelief.
"I apologize on his behalf. But I am here to continue the tournament." Emperor Zolten announced causing the crowd to fall silent. He massages his temples remembering the message he received from his son before the tournament started. And another request that made him question the whole tournament. All the efforts will go in vain he thought to himself.
"Then, please Enter the respective heirs of Valok, Angel, Phoenix, Drakos, and Lynx sect." The host announced making everyone scream in excitement. Then the host added making even the emperor and other leaders shocked. "And our last special contestant, Jade."
Hearing her name Jade's eyes widened. Wait she didn't participate in the competition, she thought. Everyone waited for entry but Jade stood in her place shocked. She remembered the question Zebulon asked last time and her fist clenched in anger.
"That brat. How dare he? He is playing with me again." Jade said to herself.
"Miss people are waiting." The guard said.
"I didn't participate in this match. It was a royal investigator." Jade said to him.
"We can't do anything right now. Let's get going." said the guard.
Jade chuckled with no humor in her tone but followed the guard and walked inside the match. The crown fell completely silent and then screamed in disbelief. Even the heir and Head of the Elite family are in disbelief except Valok who looks rather concerned. The princess of Drakos and Phoenix sect just stare at her surprised. Riona wanted to perform but she never got a chance due to family belief seeing this girl is making her feel pity. She is sure that there aren't any other warrior princesses like her. Hestia instead of judging her assessed the girl finding nothing special. She can't even feel her mana too. The heads of other sects have the same thoughts as Hestia.
Lance approached Jade not knowing what was going on. He didn't know that the Jade they announced its her, the person who helped him.
"Jade, you okay? You didn't say anything about the fight." Lance asked. Jade's face falls.
"Lance I didn't want to," Jade muttered to him.
"A woman can't be Aide." The crowd screamed.
"What is this?"
"Who let her fight?"
"Take her out of here." More people screamed.
"Her name was given by the royal." The host announced. Before they could protest Emperor silenced the crowd.
"She got permission from the Royal so according to the rules she can Fight," Emperor Zoltan announced.
Jade gazed at the Emperor in disbelief, she thought she would be able to leave. Lance pointed at each candidate and gave information about them to Jade. She accepted the help silently.
"She doesn't even know heirs. Such nonsense." Theron the heir of the Lynx sect said.
"You seem to know her Lance." Ezio Heir of Phoenix sect said.
"Let's not judge her, If the royal gave her permission then there must be a reason." Ryu of the Drakos sect tried to lighten the atmosphere.
"Let's get rid of her first then we can fight in peace." Ruel of Angel sect offered.
"Agree," said Theron.
"Seriously, don't you know never take anyone as weak," Ryu said in disbelief. He doesn't care about Jade but he doesn't want her to be dragged into a play of power, he has a sister and he understands.
"Then begin." announced the host.
"Get on the side let me get rid of her first then we can play a fair game." Said Theron.
"You guys don't know her," Lance warned them thinking about the terror he felt back then. Only Lance knows that Jade isn't an easy target.
"Get out of my way," Theron yelled at the lance. The crowd screamed Theron's name to get rid of Jade. Ryu decided to fight him but was stopped by Jade.
"I don't want to hurt anyone but you seem eager to face death so come on," Jade said and her demeanor fell showing people her true aura of darkness and destruction. The Crowd stopped screaming when they felt the horror rise inside them. Even Ryu backed off. Theron stopped feeling a shift in the atmosphere but ran towards her with his spirit animal tiger behind him, his claws out. Jade pulled out her sword.
"Sword of eternal darkness." She said taking her position.
The claws and swords hit each other. Jaden noticed that he had speed and powerful mana too. Jade needs to give it all and she knows it well. Theron threw a fist at her which she blocked and punched him causing him to fly away on the wall. Without giving him a chance Jade used her thousand swords hitting him as he fell unconscious Only then did she let him go. The crowd gasped in surprise even the candidates tensed up seeing the terror.
Unlike the Emperor and the leaders of the top families who had seen this scene before, they understood who's citizen she was.
"Next," Jade said making everyone snap out.
Ruel stepped up and spread his wings pulling out his sword. He attacked her with divine light, Jade jumped away causing the ground to shake. Ruel didn't give her time to recover and attacked her again with his huge sword, Jade barely blocked it and let chaos help her counterattack. The chaos enveloping the sword leads to its destruction. Ruel backed away before it attacked him. His jaw clenched. His weapon is gone just like that.
"How did you do it?" Ruel asked her.
"I am the destruction and the darkness. The only thing you will get by standing against me is your death and chaos." Jade's reply made people scared. They sat on their seat holding their breath and sanity. Ruel formed his magic of light and threw it at her. Everyone knows the heirs are good with weapons and magic. Ruel thought she couldn't use magic since she was good with weapons but she beat him again when a massive dark hole absorbed his power. Lance stood shocked, he knew she was capable but he hadn't seen someone this strong after his father.
Ruel couldn't believe his eyes, the strongest heir in his sect was getting beaten by a girl younger than him. Teleporting in front of him in the air with the help of the portal she punched him in his stomach causing him to fall. Teleporting again she slammed her foot in his face as his body couldn't move after taking major damage. She turned around facing Ezio, Ryu, and Lance.
Unlike Ezio and Ryu, Lance's body is filled with horror. Jade gave him a soft smile reassuring him. Lance nods. She grinned at the rest of them.
"Let's finish it."
"It is my honor to fight with you," said Ezio with respect.
"Maybe you will like my sister," Ryu said softly.
