Chereads / The Nigh-Omnipotent / Chapter 11 - 11

Chapter 11 - 11

Rian sat on his bed waiting for something to happen. The tournament already started he needs to be on alert. Things will get rough soon or right now.

Rian felt the evil before it loomed over the motel. The workers already evacuated the motel under the orders of Alvaro. No matter what he does Rian understand Alvaro has a heart even if he acts like manwhore. Unlike others, he treats everyone with respect and with no judgment.

Rian took silent steps trying to find the source of the noise, he found Alvaro on the way. Alvaro has a frown on his face he didn't think things would go so bad that his workers have to leave the place. Alvaro pats Rian's back when he passed by him.

"They are here, you can leave if you want to. Zebulon will come soon." Said Alvaro.

"I am saving kids. Where are they?"

"Go straight to the right and second room."

With a nod, Rian made his way in the direction. Hiding his presence he peeked into the room finding the bunch of kids with Kidnappers waiting for their boss. Opening the door he walked inside sending them away with the wind. He approaches the kids and faces the enemies.

"They are here again." One of the kidnappers muttered.

They rose evil spirits by throwing stones, this time Rian smirked and muttered to himself.

"Wind of purification."

The wind hit the evil spirits vanishing them instantly. He thanked Jade for giving him a few tricks. His happiness is short-lived when the masked man enters with a huge monster behind him. The monster jumped toward Rian attacking him and killing other men standing. Rian shields the kids and he attacks the monster with a huge wave of wind. The monster didn't even move an inch. His tentacles attack Rian who blocks them.

Damm it. I have to pull out something more. He thought.

The monster attacked him again with spikes on his tentacles. Zebulon jumped in cutting off them. Zebulon glanced at the masked man and back at the monster. He isn't late at all.

Rian breathed out in relief realizing he didn't have to face them alone.

"Get kids out of here safe at any cost," Zebulon ordered him.

Rian nodded and took the kids away from the monster towards the back door. He heard the monsters growl and the walls breaking but he shielded kids before it could hit them. His mission is to make sure kids are safe. A sudden silence spread over the motel and the evil spirits rose. Rian vanished them out of the way while making sure the kids were safe. He felt a punch out of nowhere throwing him to the nearest wall. A pain made its way through his spine to his head. Pushing himself up he glanced back finding a masked man with dark red tentacles surrounding him. His eyes are red. The tentacle attacked him again, and Rian jumped out of the way.

"Kid go to corners and run away as you get the chance," Rian ordered them.

The tentacles rose again attacking Rian with all their might, Rian directed the wind toward them with full force pushing them away with the impact. The masked man didn't look happy. He forced all his tentacles on the Rian. Rian made a shield but the force of them broke the shield as the tentacles hit his stomach. He grunts in pain but stands up again.

"Winds of divine destruction." He mutters and a strong force of wind cuts the tentacles off the masked man. The man didn't scream or grunt in pain unlike him.

"Hold him up, I will get the kids out of here safe." He heard Valerie's voice.

"Alright, leave it on me." He replied.

While Rian focused on the fight Valerie made a quick attempt to take the kids away. Rian attacked the man without stopping for a second making him exhausted. The tentacles grabbed him by his throat and pushed him against the wall. Other tentacles hit his stomach. Rian vomits blood out of his mouth, his eyes closing trying to ignore the pain.

His dad's last words echo in his ears and the voices that criticized ringing in his head. Out of all of them, Jade's advice was the only one he focused on.

' Don't listen to people around you, only you know your soul. No one else can.'

' You can do it brother if you give it all your heart. ' His sister Hestia's always said to him.

' You are a disgrace.'

It made him open his eyes wide. His gaze I the kid and something inside him rose. He felt an energy within himself that he never felt before. It made him feel strong, somehow he knew the energy inside him was of his spirit bird. A tentacle tried to punch Rian but he held it before it could touch him. The air around him grows to think and hot causing the tentacles to let him go. A word repeated itself in his mind.

"Whirlwind of divine destruction." He said it out loud as his mana surrounded him.

A huge whirlwind formed taking the masked man inside it. The man didn't scream at all. Rian focused on his mana and cut him off into pieces. The whirlwind vanished due to Rian's command. He could not believe his eyes, it was the first time he saw his power. Rian soon noticed Zebulon and Jade, he smiled at them. Jade and Zebulon stood in front of Rian and focused back on the evil spirit rising in the air.

"Good job. We will handle it from here," said Jade.

They both attacked it with their power not letting it escape. Valerie and Rian joined them. Four of them destroyed the evil spirit.

"Are you okay Rian?" Jade asked him.

"I am alright Jade," Rian said finally collapsing but Jade wrapped her arm around him. Zebulon helped Jade to carry Rian in an empty room. Placing him on the bed both of them stretch their neck.

"Are you okay?" Zebulon asked Jade.

"Yes, I need to recharge that's all. How about you?"

"What can happen to me, I am perfectly fine."

"You planned this to awaken Rian's spirit. Let's say it worked but not completely."

Of course, she knows. Zebulon thought enjoying their calm conversation.

"He got confidence. That's all he needs to evolve further." Zebulon answers.

"Maybe he needs to be in an extreme situation to awaken his true potential," Jade said after realizing it.

"And a little help."

Jade couldn't help but smile. Rian asked her to train her when the last time they met. She knew his spirit wasn't awakened but it would need a little more work to awaken him.

"Then I will send kids back. Make sure Rian is fine." She ordered Zebulon.

"Leave it, you fought a lot. You need rest. I will take care of it." Zebulon assured her.

"It's fine. It will take me a few minutes."

"No master he is right. Go back I will take care of it," said Valerie.

Valerie sent Jade back home knowing well she overdid it and took responsibility for taking them back safely. Zebulon slumped down on the bed next door after they left. But he stood up again knowing there was a lot of work left. First, he needs to call the healer for Rian and take care of evil spirits around the territories. Rubbing his eyes he walked towards the office.

Sleeping was never in his schedule.

...

Jade came back all exhausted. Lucifer noticed it and gently cradled her in his arms. Jade closed her eyes as sleep took over her. Her father's warmth enveloped her, she felt peace.

Lucifer placed her on the bed and patted her head. She is unharmed but Lucifer can feel the amount of power she used together. He transferred his power inside her trying to make her feel less exhausted. Once he felt satisfied he placed a kiss on her forehead and left her. He can't heal her but that doesn't mean he isn't capable of reducing damage.

Valerie came back and reported it to Lucifer instead of Jade. Lucifer dismissed her and retired for the day. He felt proud of her daughter for solving problems. She will be a great leader like Lucifer.

After waking up Jade cleaned herself up and joined her Dad for breakfast. Lucifer greeted her.

"Morning my beloved kiddo."

"Morning dearest dad." Jade greeted him enthusiastically.

"I got reports. Good job."

Jade's face falls as she remembers the tournament. Lucifer noticed it too.

"Remember the guy who was investigating, he gave them my name and I had to join the tournament." Jade examined her father's reaction. Lucifer smirked.

"And you won, that's my girl."

"You seriously have deep faith in me but I don't want to be Aide. What do I do?"

"Relax kid, talk to the crown prince."

Jade slapped her forehead in disbelief. "Right, I didn't think about it before. Besides he won't accept me as an Aide," she said sure of herself.

"Yes, so no trouble. If they try to harm you then tell them you are my daughter."

"Thanks, Dad, you are best."

"I know."

"Give me good advice."

"We don't care about their rule, we are rulers of the strongest area."

"You think I can stand against their leaders or Emperor."

"You can, You are my daughter one of the strongest ones, never forget it." Then he added. "But you need lots of experience."

Jade nods at him. Her Father's words are enough for her to boost her confidence.
