Ryu let his spirit dragon out, and Ezio let his spirit bird out a falcon. Lance waited for Jade to finish their match not wanting to hurt her at all. He wouldn't hold back if she didn't help to find the missing children of his territory. Lance's thoughts wandered to the first time he saw her, she looked so powerful yet innocent. He can't digest the fact that she is from the Eternal darkness. Everyone knows that place is full of terror, at least that's what the rumors say.
Jade looked at the spirit animals with a smile finally she could show her true power and bring glory to her people. Her people never joined the outer world, she was the first of her kind to fight and she didn't plan to get defeated even when she didn't want to take the place of royal Aide of the future emperor. Her father didn't train her to get defeated, she could still give them equal competition alone. She had used most of the mana it will be a little difficult though. She felt her mana rising slowly. It's more than enough. Her focus came back to the fight.
Ryu and Ezio attacked her together with their animals crashing into her. Jade teleported away causing both animals to bump into each other. Its impact affects both of them and their wielders.
"Thousand swords of the destroyer." She muttered. Thousand swords raised in the air pointing at the beasts. "Multiple destructions," Jade added. And more swords covered the tournament arena. Opening her eyes she directs them at the beasts.
The dragon and the falcon hold their shields up protecting themselves. With a smirk, she teleported herself behind Ezio and kicked him on the ground with all her might, her swords pointing at his neck and his spirit beast disappeared. The swords changed their direction attacking Ryu and making him scream in pain. The dragon roared and covered his master protecting him.
"Eternal darkness," Jade said and swung her sword at the dragon vanishing it with not much effort. Ryu lay on the ground bruised with wounds over his body. Ezio passed out already. The crowd gasped. Emperor smiled remembering his powerful son, the person who could fight him. Zolten wondered if Jade would be able to withstand him. He will certainly find out.
She glances at Lance. She isn't going to give up today. She would rather die than disgrace her invincible father. Her father is untouchable even the Emperor or other powerful creatures don't mess with him. She will go easy on Lance. Easier than the previous fight.
"Come on Valok, show me what you have. You should be able to defeat me since I used a lot of mana." Jade said to him. Lance chuckled.
"I don't think I can defeat you but I will try to give you a good match that can satisfy you," replied Lance. He is confident of giving her enough damage.
"Once we get out of here can we be friends?"
"I thought we were already friends."
"Oh."
Lance took out his throwing knives his blue aura circling him. Jade took her position her dark aura coming out. And they fought, blocking attacking, and punching each other. Lance managed to land a punch on Jade's stomach causing her to fall on the ground.
"A thousand wolves," Lance muttered raising a thousand Knives and directing them at Jade. Jaden grinned and closed her eyes making Lance pause but he didn't stop knowing everyone had an eye on them. The knives were inches away from Jade when she teleported behind him. She lands a hard kick on the side of his neck with her mana-infusing in her leg causing Lance to get knocked out. The knives disappeared and Jade let her aura fall releasing people around her.
The arena was silent as no one said anything even the host was baffled for the first time. Jade glances up at the emperor who has a smirk on his lips, unlike others. That smirk reminds Jade of Zebulon and this thing he did to her. Jaden will kill him the next time she finds him.
Finally, everyone came out of the shock and a few people cheered for her rest of them sat silently not knowing what to do. The leaders of the top families are not satisfied with the performance. Riona's eyes were wide in shock, She could fight but she had never seen such a powerful performance even her brother lost to Jade and she was still standing unharmed. Her chest swelled with pride. Hestia smiled liking the fact that all men are on the ground and only a woman is standing among them. She is worried about her brother yet she is feeling genuinely happy for Jade. Jade made history today, and people will surely remember it for a long time.
"As you can see our winner is Jade. Congratulations and escort her into the Imperial palace." Said the emperor turning away and leaving.
Jade noticed the helpers coming in taking unconscious heirs away. Jade didn't have time for this, First, she needed to head to a motel because if Zebulon wasn't here that meant something was wrong at the motel. And she is late. Rian is there too but she needs to make sure everything is fine.
She used the magic stone she took from the kidnappers and entered the black market in front of the motel. She felt the evil spirits inside it and the screaming for people. A few ladies ran out injured. Weren't they supposed to act tonight she asked herself but there was no time to answer. When she got in all she could feel was evil and no people around not even her people. But one sense is clear even in this chaos.
She found evil spirits at the entrance and destroyed them. She can feel two evil spirits worse than the small one. She approached the person she could feel. Jade found Zebulon fighting with a huge evil monster. Zebulon smirked.
"I knew you would win. Congratulations Aide." Said Zebulon not looking at her. Jade glared at him. But wondered why he was so confident of her winning.
"You are going to die today but by my hand." She said and attacked the monster.
The monster uses his tentacles to hit them causing them to back away in the corner. Jade and Zebulon feel grateful because the motel is huge enough to fight.
"Where are kids and Rian?" I ask him.
"I told him to take the kids out safely. I hope he succeeds. "
"We need to finish him quickly and help Rian."
"This beast doesn't have a core. He is absorbing attacks and growing huge."
"Then let's destroy him completely," said Jade.
"Didn't work. Attack together."
Jade groans in frustration. Pointing swords at the monster Jade and Zebulon attacked it together. Their manas enveloped as they created a huge attack cutting the monster into two. Jade destroyed the monster using her darkness while Zebulon vanished the spirit using his power. The evil spirits screamed around them in agony.
While Zebulon is distracted, Jade kicks his chest pushing him on the floor and straddling him. Jade pointed her sword at his neck inches away, while Zebulon didn't move taken by surprise. Zebulon smirked in response not bothered at all. His palm resting on her waist. Jade ignored the warm touch and focused on Zebulon.
"You did good, Aide." Zebulon teased. Jade glared at him.
"You have a death wish, huh? Why did you make me participate in the tournament?" Jade demand.
"Because I knew you would win alone."
"I don't like your games."
"Then stop playing."
"Whatever. You can kill this monster easily why did you drag the fight?"
Zebulon's lips twitch up. He is surprised but likes the fact that she understands him with no doubt. Jade knows him better than his father Zebulon concluded.
"I was waiting for you and making sure Rian was being useful."
"Are you serious? Some kids need to be saved."
"Rian is capable," Zebulon said leaning closer to her. "And what's with this position? Are you enjoying?" He teases.
Jade felt like killing him right on the spot but restrained herself. Before she can question further they both feel a strong presence and then a huge whirlwind rises destroying the motel. Zebulon was quick to push Jade away and form a shield to protect both of them. Jade got taken back by Zebulon shielding her with his body and mana. When the whirlwind faded away both of them rushed in the direction of the the energy they felt. They knew it was Rian but something felt off.
They found an injured Rian and a body pieces nearby. The kids are in the back safe with Valerie protecting them. Rian glances at Jade and Zebulon, a smile on his lips. His body is bruised and he can barely stand. Jade and Zebulon focus back on a huge evil spirit looming over the body.
Rian felt relief finding them.
