This Vice Admiral Fiora Betatar is an interesting person to have met, after our meeting in the hanger she offered us quarters and if needed repairs to our equipment, we took her up on the offer but Rylanor made it clear that he was staying in the hanger but would accompany me and the Admiral around the ship, I also requested the Admiral if my quarters could be near the hanger, with the thinking that we would need to deploy as soon as we arrive in orbit above the Hive city.
Taking us through the ship we paid a visit to the armoury and on-board repair bay, the place was filled with all manner of weapons and armaments for every occasion and rows on rows of Leman Russ tanks, what a beautiful sight to see, as we were having a moment of happiness witnessing the beauty that is these tools of war, from out of the shadows of the armoury a group of tech priest came from their place of work to greet the Vice Admiral and her guest for she requested that their equipment needed tending to, the tech priest who seemed to be in charge looked as he was about to say something that he might've regretted and then stopped.
His eyes now fixated on us, he looked me over and noticed that the armour was ancient and made by some of the finest tech-priests of their time, he started to make circles around me like a shark in the water, he asked me a thousand questions all at once, I could barely get a word out before he gazed upon Rylanor he immediately began to scan Rylanor as if he was a treasure lost to time never before seen.
Rylanor was about to smack the tech priest away with all his might but singled to him to stay his hand and asked what the tech priest was doing. So that I could get a more definite answer what he said shocked us, " He is a one of a kind pattern that hasn't been seen very often in almost 9000 years but there are rumours that some chapters of Space Marines may have one but I could definitely say that your brother is one of the last in existence. I am sorry to have invaded your space but I would like to run further tests on you with your permission of course?"
Rylanor made it clear he would need time to process the information we heard for me I could only hope that the Imperium hasn't strayed far from the Emperor's designs. walking with a group of security personnel and now a small group of tech-priests as we made our way towards the bridge of the Spear of War, now this was a sight to behold as men and women of the Imperium doing the work that needs to be done, walking directly behind the Vice Admiral as her entourage followed closed behind, with my helm still under my armour I looked into the eyes of these proud people as they steered at me a Space Marine warriors from legends. I quietly asked Rylanor to stay and guard the bridge for privacy from intruders for even these walls have ears and opened up communications between us so that he could hear what was going on.
Vice Admiral Fiora Betatar walked around a holographic map that sate on a table which pin-pointed their position in contrast to their destination only but a day away from Port Maw then onto Hive City Malora, she put herself facing towards the door and her back facing the void of space, with everyone surrounding the table, I placed myself on the opposite side from her, she then began to lean onto the holographic table then spoke, " With our new found allies, we might be able to snuff this rebellion out before it can take a breath." Looking towards Titerus, " Can we expect more of your brothers to aide us?" everyone started to turn to me with hope and anticipation of my words, I started to look off into the wondering the same are they more of us who survived that battle, that ... massacre, " We fought in battle and suffered dearly from it ... you are looking upon the last members of one of the Emperor's greatest armies, where we numbered in the ten's of thousands and now only two remain." My words left blank expressions on their faces.
One of the officers looked at me with a shaken spirit and asked, " What happened that could defeat an army of his angels that large?" I looked towards him with words on the tip of my tongue, "fallen angels", but my words didn't get passed the Vice Admiral's voice as she spoke firmly and said, "That's enough! We have all suffered loss, let him keep his pain, we all know what it is to lose family, even if not tied by blood but by battle and this is what we, as loyal soldiers of the Emperor know and accept it, remember we survive a battle to face another but we still keep the torch burning. Let's get back to it!"
A day passed and now orbiting Port Maw we prepared ourselves for the coming battle until, " My Lord we have received a message from the Governor and the Admiral whiches to see you in the hanger." the guardsmen looked to be no more than in his teens with a scar on his neck, spooke at speed and I chuckled at his panic, I picked up my weapons from their place of rest admiring the minor fixes of my bolter and thought it might be time to give it a refurbishment, I felt my words have wounded my weapon but thought, maybe another time then. Walking towards the guardsmen who stood there star-struck and then stopped less than a metre away from each other, I let one of my hands go from my bolter and placed it on his shoulder and spoke to him, " Do you believe in the Emperor guardsmen?" he spoke with a stutter, " Yes my lord I always have and always will!" The guardsmen managed to shout with pride, feeling a bit of happiness from the youth and hope of this soldier, which rewarded me with the hope that even after so long humanity still fights and continues to survive, even though who wishes us dead and gone.
I looked into his eyes seeing a fire, pure and bright and asked the young man, " What is your name soldier?" the soldier took a gulp looking like he thought he was in trouble and would die but said his name nonetheless, "Dauss Ogrim sir" what next shocked him even further, my response, " I Titerus Vain, Chapter Master of the Luna Wolves and one of the last members of the XVIth Legion declare that should you need my aide or support in any way Dauss Ogrim and that you should be protected by the angels of the Emperor, for you are the young and brave, for we are the old but strong." His face turned into awe of me as if I solved all my problems, I put my helmet back on and made my way towards the hanger, for I heard the sound of battle on the horizon.
