Chapter 29 - Familiar Decay

In orbit high above the hive city where battles rage across the city. From the bridge of The Spear of War, wear a heated conversation took place for hours as raging ground war ensues , "No my Lord! but we have forces on the ground and we have found support from a space marine and his..."

A minute past by and the doors of the bridge began to open once again and a flood of service members rushing back to there posts, an a officer waited for the bridge to calm and return to normal, he walks towards with the sound of tapping on a steel floor as his cane helped carry his weight, the Admrial that stands and leans on a rail over looking the hive city bellow.

The officer stops but metre away and speaks in a rough voice, " Ma'am I take it that our orders are not to your... liking?" The Admiral slowly turns to walk back to holographic table and as she past, " No Von Gray." The Admiral's face said it all, I have severed under her comand more then anyone on board this ship and this look I have only seen once in all my years... the death of planet... Exterminatus! She began to talk to me again while steering at holo map, " I have tried my best but there has been reports of battles breaking out all over planet and that creatures have been lurking in the dark and any attempt to found out what... has been lost, so my superiors are telling me that they have until tomorrow morning to sort this or that they will burn the hive city to the ground and if that dosen't sort it out they are prepairing to sign the planets death warrant."

After being able to take out the enemy commander who I later found out to be a officer that was neglected by poltics and backstabing schemes. She continued to sever in the Imperial Guard for almost thirty years being decleared a veteran among her peers but then went M.I.A (Missing In Action) on with a company of soldiers on mission to clear out a small but rising WAAAGH of Orks until later found walking back to her base with no other survivers and began to show unusual signs for example reckless indangerment of her troops...

That was all that could be found because alot copies about what have happend to her in the last few months have been corrupted and can't be recovered. But for now we have a way into the Governors palace I had to order Rylanor to stand guard at the entrance so that he keep the order if anyone should stir up trouble but he made it clear that since that we would try and rescure our brethren he would follow me to the end and revenge againest Fulgrim for what he has done to him and all those who have suffered his blade since that day.

The Lieutenant, me and a squad of storm troops (14 troopers) slowly marching our way in, but before we entred I heard some of soldiers that were stationed around the entrance saying that they heard screaming coming from withen the dark corridors of the palace, It looks like we are not the only ones here. Walking through the dark hallways of the palace, the lights looked to have been destoryed with blood staining the floors and walls, using our lights on our helmets to light our path,

I began to have a sinking feeling in myself I stopped and raised my closed fist to the squad behind me I turned towards the Lieutenant, " Lieutenant do you know how many people were here before the cultist surrounded the building?" he holstered his weapon and searched his pockets, finding a notepad as he scrolled through his notes one of the troopers notice a strange grenade lying on it's side, he reached his hand out to grab it, quickly grabbing his hand, " I wouldn't do that trooper." pulling my sword from my side I used the tip of it to turn the grenade a symbole began to appear on it, the Lieutenant had found what I asked for, " 25,000 people were here and that is including all staff that was already here why?" Putting my sword away and drawed my bolter pointing down the blackhole of a corridor and said, " Prepair for the worst and don't let them get close." As soon as the words past my lips the sound of yelling and screaming could be heard up ahead.

The storm troopers began take defensive postions aiming their weapons down the corridor sensing the same feeling as me, the Lieutenant then spoke, " those could be survivers we should help them!" Placing my arm infront of him stopping him from pushing further, " Lieutenant that is not the sound of the living but the dead." intensifying the lights coming from my helmet I shone them down the hallway showing everyone where the survives have gone. a large group of monsters stood there with screaming face shouting pleas for help and slvation, these twisted horrors of flesh were the amalgamation of those here when those grenades went off which showed the mark of Nurgle.
