"Why are you doing this?" she asked, her voice shaking. "Just leave me alone."
Azrael's expression softened, and he let out a small sigh. "I just want to talk, that's all," he said.
Aurora tried to relax, but her body was still tense. She wasn't sure if she could trust him. She turned slowly, facing him. He was still standing there, his arms crossed, an inscrutable look on his face. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out.
"Relax," he said, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Aurora took in a deep breath, her gaze shifting to meet his golden eyes. They were unlike any eyes she had ever seen before. They seemed to reflect the light from the moon, but there was something else, something more. They seemed to be glowing from within, a soft golden light that reached out to her. She felt herself being drawn in, mesmerized by the beauty of those eyes.
"I am," she whispered as she continued to stare.
