Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

It was the last day of the test week, the end of the week.

Most students went out with their friends to celebrate on Friday evenings. And that was exactly what the popular students in Bisi's set were doing.

Amarachi, the goddess of the set and her clique of friends had invited Aisha and Michael, along with a few other students she thought worthy of her company to enjoy the evening with her in her uncle's new club he had built in town.

They sat together in the class, talking about their plans and how excited they were.

Amarachi was shamelessly focused on Michael. Everyone knew that she had liked Michael since JSS3 when he had gotten the prize for overall best in maths and science.

She liked him so much, she always spent all her break periods in whatever class Michael was in.

In this case, it was Bisi's class as well.

Bisi was nowhere near amused at the noise Amarachi and her friends were making in the class. Because it was the last day of the test, there were no teachers which meant the students were free and alone to whatever they wanted in the classes.

It helped that they were seniors as well.

Unlike them, Bisi had stayed up all night because of the nightmares she had been having constantly through out the whole week.

The demon hadn't come back to attack her again. And if not for Omolewa's presence, she would've convinced herself nothing of everything was real.

Unfortunately, the whole situation Bisi had somehow found herself in was real.

And because she had barely had any sleep at night, she tried to make up for it at school. The noise, however, wasn't exactly pulling her to sleep.

Naturally, Bisi's first instinct was to snap at them all and tell them to shut up so she could rest.

But the loner winning an argument against the popular kid was a lie told by Hollywood.

Amarachi was as sharp-mouthed as she was beautiful. Almost all the students were terrified of her...including Bisi.

She had tried before...to put Amarachi in her place.

Safe to say, it backfired.

Alas, Bisi was not the main character in that story.

Bisi sighed, startled out of a doze when a loud squeal made her yelp. She wasn't going to get any sleep here.

Getting up, she took her backpack and began making her way out of the class. Half way there, Aisha stopped Bisi with a question.

"Bisi, do you want to go out with us later?", she asked cheerfully once she spotted the girl.

Bisi paused in her steps and glanced at Aisha. She was about to refuse but Amarachi beat her to it. "She's not invited"

Aisha's brows furrowed as she glanced at Amarachi. "Why?"

"I just don't see why she should be there. She's not my friend", Amarachi explained.

Bisi silently agreed.

She wanted nothing to do with their little outing.

"But Bisi is my friend", Aisha spoke to Amarachi, a frown still marred on her face.

That could be debatable.

Bisi sighed. "I don't want to come, Aisha"

"Why not?", it was Michael who spoke this time. "It'll be fun. Aren't you glad we're done with tests?"

"I couldn't care less", Bisi replied with a deadpan.

Amarachi scoffed. "Just go away...you're so boring to talk to"

Bisi wanted to retort but she shut her mouth, deciding against it. "You're not exactly pleasant to talk to either"

And with that, she stalked out of the class.

Aisha snickered at Bisi's remark and commented, "Well, I enjoy talking to Bisi. If she won't be at your party, maybe I'll sit it out too"

Amarachi frowned, displeased. "Suit yourself"

Michael shrugged. "I'll probably do the same"

Amarachi's jaw dropped in disbelief. "Why? Because Aisha isn't coming? That's ridiculous!"

"Not just because Aisha won't be there", Michael gazed coldly at Amarachi. "You can't talk to my friend like that and expect me to be nice to you"

Amarachi remained shocked, her mouth agape. "Talk to Aisha like what? I didn't even argue!"

"Not Aisha", Michael glared at her. "Bisi. She's most definitely not boring to talk to. As a matter of fact, I enjoy talking to her more than I enjoy talking to you. Hell, i don't even enjoy talking to you at all"

Aisha laughed at the bewildered expression on Amarachi's face as well as her friends' faces. "Let's go, Michael"

Amarachi disbelievingly watched as Michael left her side. "What? So you're just going to spend the evening with that weirdo?"

"I don't see why not? We're all wierdos", Michael smiled at Amarachi, but his smile was neither kind nor friendly.

"We might just end up going out together. The three of us...me, Bisi and Michael", Aisha added. "Wierdos can have fun, can't they?"

And with that, Aisha and Michael stalked out, going to find Bisi.

One of Amarachi's friends spoke up. "That took an unexpected turn"

Amarachi turned to her, a hard glare on her face. "Why didn't any of you tell me Mike was fond of the quiet girl?"

Amarachi's friends grimaced under the weight of her glare, muttering incoherent excuses.

She rolled her eyes, stomping her foot in frustration.

Bisi walked alone as she stalked out of the school, during closing hours.

Tobi had gone out with his friends and her parents had travelled for the weekend. So she was left to take herself home.

It was for the best as a matter of fact. Now she could train with Omolewa without freaking out her parents or making them think she was possessed.

It was strange that the demon thing hadn't come looking in for her ina couple of days now. Somehow, it was even more unnerving.

"Bisi!"

Bisi yelped, startled out of her thoughts.

She turned to find Amarachi and her clique, standing behind her.

Bisi's skin turned cold. Was Amarachi here for revenge? She really had no strength to handle her at the moment.

"What do you want?", Bisi turned fully, asking, wary and on guard.

She turned even more wary when Amarachi smiled at her.

"Why so rude?", she asked, trying her best to sound friendly. Her tone was light hearted and sweet but because Bisi knew it was fake, it seemed creepy and weird to her.

"If you don't have any thing to say, I'm going home", Bisi told her, unamused with the situation.

"No. You're not going anywhere till I'm done talking", Amarachi grabbed Bisi's arm, her smile dropping and her grip, tight.

Bisi's eyes looked down at their linked arms and back to Amarachi's face. "Then what do you want?"
