The sun rose as the rays flashed by Tyler's face.
He still doesn't notice the changes that happened with his phone.
The morning passed without hiccup and he left his house.
Right before he went around the corner of his home Tyler stopped.
He conjured a talisman using nature energy, much different from the usual energy made up of negative karma.
He put up a spell, inscriptions appeared in the talisman and he threw it right up his house. A barrier appeared; it can't be seen by the naked human eyes. The function of it was to repel any malicious intent pointed at the house.
It's not only so not any curse be place inside the house but it can detect and destroy any negative energy in a span of 1 kilometer radius.
After the barrier was erected, he heaved a sigh of relief and went to school.
Tyler sat down at his room; he was quite early in waking up since he made sure to set up the barrier so no one could see him.
It was his first time being early, so looking at the empty classroom made him so distant yet so near with nature.
This might be the reason why most shamans are depicted to have a home in the middle of a forest with social interaction with other people.
Most fantastical settings come from real events or information, just changed to make it appear more magical and mysterious.
After some time, someone appeared. It was his classmate but he had forgotten what his name was so he minded his own business.
"Tyler! You're early today." The man greeted him.
"Oh yes…" He was shocked as he never thought the man would bring up a conversation.
"Don't tell me you don't remember me? I'm your seatmate." The man put his bag onto the chair beside Tyler.
Seeing the bewildered Tyler, the man continued.
"I knew it, you were so out of it yesterday and focus on the professors. You didn't even talk much beside the introductions done."
"My name's Quin, you shouldn't forget me next time," The man introduced before sitting.
"By the way have you heard of the ghost of Elijah that's been circulating in this neighborhood?"
Tyler said he didn't know anything about it so Quin told him about the gossip he had been hearing the neighborhood.
It turns out that there have been quite a few cases of mentally unstable students found by their parents in the town.
The students didn't have any foreshadowing of such incidents or did show any signs. They went crazy all of a sudden and doesn't want to go out of their respective rooms.
They all have been referred to many psychologists and doctors but they only discovered weak heartbeat and low brain signal, but they couldn't deduce whatever illness they're having.
The only thing that came to the psychologists' minds are depression or a sign of pathogen. They are more inclined for a pathogen since it wouldn't be realistic that all these students came depressed all of a sudden and since they don't even have a connection to each other.
Upon further thinking though, pathogen is also a no go since they have no connection or interaction between them this past few weeks.
"Why would the title of this case be 'Ghost of Elijah?'" Tyler asked amidst the story of Quinn.
Quin continued the story stating that there was a case a couple of years ago that was quite similar to the happenings of today.
There was a girl named Elijah that also turned crazy but all of a sudden, she disappeared and her family forgot about her. Any belonging in their house pertaining to the existence of the girl was erased. No dust left out.
When the officials asked them about Elijah, the family said that they don't have a daughter and was still planning for one. The police didn't believe anything they said and immediately arrested them and was put into trial. They were sentenced to life in prison. After 10 years though, the parents of Elijah died and their corpses quickly rotted for just a few hours of death.
The phenomenon that happened was labeled to be the Curse of Elijah.
The word 'curse' echoed through Tyler's ears and he thought, 'it can't be the same person who cursed him, was it?'
There is still missing information before he can say that it was the same person who was attacking students and the one who attack him. It isn't even sure if it was a curse that was haunting this student.
But if it were really a curse then he can say tentatively that it really might be the same person; the one who attacked him and the one who was plaguing the students of this town, and also the one who killed her parents, Elijah.
Quin continued rambling about the certain gossips in town but he deliberately did not listen as he was focused on the connection between the incidents and the curse user who targeted the akashic records.
Tyler thought silently.
The morning also went by without a hiccup, there were still not much to do since the whole week would be focused on the introduction to the subject and the teachers. This made it easier for Quin to stick to Tyler.
Tyler by o means hate or dislike Quin, it's just that he's probably the main target of a curse user. The more people he associates, the more innocent victims would be attacked. His good conscience would not be able take such risk.
He said with guilt, "Why are you following me around? The campus is huge."
Quin stopped in his tracks as he said, "Don't be angry, it's just I'm curious about you"
Tyler jolted and covered his chest with his hand.
"Not that, you see I have a third eye."
"A third eye?" Tyler put down his hands and asked seriously.
"Yes, it is a metaphorical eye which- "Quin recited the meaning.
"I know what a third eye is…You have it?" Tyler knew that there are certain mystical powers around the world. He met a curse user before finding the Akashic Records and now he's finding a person who has a third eye.
Were mystic forces easy to find?
