Chapter 10
Tyler's mom lost consciousness as the curse energy enveloping her was purged; the incantations stopped in response as the bindings let go of his mother.
The aftermath was not too chaotic considering that there was curse power at play here, nonetheless he still used his nature energy to lift up some fallen objects and fixed the damaged materials.
Not many minutes after, a staff went inside the room.
"I felt some vibrations so I came to check if there's anything you need," It was a nurse. She looked around but saw the whole family was in deep sleep while Tyler was busy tidying up things.
"My family is in a deep slumber so they probably didn't notice it, thank you for your concern" Tyler replied as he took a quick bow.
Seeing as there was no problem, the nurse quickly left and attended other patients.
This incident made it clear to Tyson that being proactive is no longer an option. He might've stayed clear and didn't bother with the things going in the town but messing with his family was a different kind of matter.
Elijah must be dealt carefully as soon as possible.
Tyler also realized that only setting up a formation at his house is not the thing to do. There are a ton of problem including this and a normal curse user despite having arrogance will proceed with caution, thus probably setting the seeds to this incident.
With his blood as his medium, he cast a spell on his family, engraving runic symbols on their forehead. This is basically a walking fortress of defense and will not be affected by such curses as before, with his extensive knowledge of curses, he doubts any curse would be able to penetrate those.
He decided to accompany his family for the day, leaving only his thoughts to his family. He intends to plan to counterattack Elijah tomorrow, and deal with her as soon as possible.
In an unknown place.
"I hope he liked my gift, let's see…What other gifts should I give him?" An eerie smile crept up on her face.
"With him at his wits end, there will be no doubt that he'll willingly give me the book. As precaution let me play around a little more."
The next day.
His parents didn't want to bother his studies so his father alone was the sole one looking after Tyler's mother.
'Don't worry, I'll apprehend her soon enough, just you wait.'
Quin jumped from his back, intending to surprise him. Tyler dodged instinctively.
"Why did you do that for, you're not even germophobic." Quin who missed his target was agonizing on the floor.
"Anyone who will be jumped from behind will instinctively dodge, you know?"
Quin stood up and changed the topic, "Anyway, are you fine?"
"What do you mean?"
"I went to the library to ask about you, but it's more like a survey to see if you can really do the bet."
"Oh…you mean if I completed the bet? Yeah, already done."
"What?! I was talking about your mother. But you're already done?" Quin was baffled, he talked to the librarian that the damage will be fixed by one person in a week not a month.
"Yeah, I'm finished, you can ask the librarian to check. Seeing that you don't know despite going there, it means they still haven't taken a look at the room yet. I'll be expecting my lunch." Tyler grins but immediately put it down.
"My mother on the other hand is still at the hospital, recovering." Even thinking about it makes Tyler's blood boil for Elijah.
Seeing that Tyler was still upset with the accident of his mother, Quin decided to let the conversation move and told Tyler about the club hunt in the university.
Since the school year had just started, the club hunt is at its highest to fill the gaps the upper classmen.
"For how long this event will last? Can the first years be able to create one of their own?" Tyler honestly asked. He was quite intrigued for this, but he'll join after he had taken down Elijah.
Quin mentioned that the club hunting will last for a week, but the clubs decided that if there's a club who has gathered their approved quota, they need to jump out of the hunt. For Tyler's second question, Quin did not have an answer for it.
Tyler understood since they were all just freshmen, so it's bound that there is certain information that are still not in their hands.
"Well, let's just ask a professor if we find one, I hope it'd not the overly serious one, they are quite stubborn and might get us into trouble if they find one dislikable remark about us." Tyler suggests as Quin agreed.
The rest of the morning continued as usual and they were able to find a professor to ask about the club rules.
"You're first year? Yes, you can definitely create your own appropriate club, but you must need to find 5 members for it to be legalize. It's not controlled by the club hunt so you can find members all year long, though that's if you find one." The professor was quite intrigued as most clubs are already built due to sports and other entertainment.
"I'll be going now, I hope you can find those 5 members, the president not included."
With the things clear, Tyler now has a goal after defeating Elijah. The only thing to do is to catch Elijah.
Noon came and Tyler went to the library while Quin headed to the canteen.
"Excused me." Tyler called out the librarian.
"It's you! Is your mother, okay?" The librarian worriedly asked.
"You don't need to worry ma'am; she just needs to rest now in the hospital but she's generally fine now."
"I was really worried when I got the call. You can take a rest for today; I know you need the time to rest because of what happened." The librarian smiled.
"Because of what you did?" Tyler put forth his talisman with his blood and activated his array.
