Chapter 59 - Escape into the Wilderness

Klein would rather not face the full wrath of the eagle beast, so he was speeding through the dense forest without taking the time to sightsee.

In what little moments he took to look around, he only saw the mofei in the air taking on a unique form in the trees and plants. Almost like an entirely different stand of mofei.

He took this new substance as a sort of "nature" or plant mofei.

It was not too different from earth mofei, yet it stood out as less brown and more of an earthy green.

With the beasts having been scared out of this region of the forest, Klein was uninterrupted in his fleeing from the scary eagle beast; it was flying slower due to its injury. Nonetheless, it pursued its newest prey for revenge.

That was to say, Klein now had to find a way to lose the faster, deadlier foe before he lost his way back to the village or found himself in the territory of an equally terrifying meibeast.

Either could lead to Klein's death.

And so, Klein hid himself inside the density of the forest brush and stopped his breathing once more.

Out of sheer intuition, Klein channeled the plant mofei both inside his body and allowed it to mask his form amongst some bushes.

The eagle beast unknowingly flew overhead, still searching for its elusive prey.

'Phew. It looks like I can make use of this new mofei as well.' As he channeled the plant mofei, he felt as one with his surroundings; the flora against his body enshrouded him, making him become plant-like in aura.

'I don't know if there's ever been someone known to use plant mofei, this could potentially be a newfound advantage in rearing crops.' Klein had already put his mind into finding uses for the mofei.

'Let's hurry up and get back before that big beast returns to finish the job.'

After a brisk return to the village, Klein had seen a few of the older generation accessing the damages and gathering the bodies of the beasts to collect the valuable parts.

If you discounted the fact that almost the entire village was brought down by the stampeding creatures, this was quite the boon indeed.

A multitude of beasts that would have taken the entire hunting group just to escape from alive and well were placed neatly inside of the bunker for both food prepping as well as material stripping.

Inside the entire village, there were tens of hundreds of beasts and with the eagle beast scouring the land, the village was safe from any attacks for the time being.

Meior knew that taking advantage of this situation could allow the village to soar from its earlier state. All it took was a bit of time and they would be back on track to living above ground once more.

"Klein! Oh, my boy you did it!" Noticing a figure appear in the distance, Meior was visibly excited to welcome his son back into the village.

"Dad, I need to show you something," as he was unscathed, Klein immediately wished to recount his experience with the new mofei he witnessed.

He channeled the plant mofei from his body and produced a plant he had collected from the forest.

Inside his palms, the plant grew a bit larger, sprouting more leaves and looking healthy despite being uprooted.

Meior's eyes widened as he saw this occurrence, the implications beyond beneficial for the village.

"We need to have a talk after getting everything settled here. For now, we collect the bodies of the dead beasts and expand upon the bunker space. Who knows why that monstrous eagle sought to rampage on this land."

"I can help, let me gather the materials for us, my new vision was practically made to locate mofei-rich objects."

"We can talk about your vision too, but for now we must make sure the village remains together."

"Alright, I'll be off then," Klein took note on his stubby arm covered in wraps of old cloth.

Klein located the more precious parts of the meibeasts easily. Just like the shell of the iron shell tortoise, many items could be used to craft into useful tools.

The shell for example would make for a shield or a pot for cooking.

After gathering for a while, Klein had brought in some claws, teeth, fur, horns, talons, and even a few organs.

It was peculiar seeing such a small child handle such gory objects the way he did; Klein simply copied the eagle beast's wind blade and began butchering the parts of the beasts quite simply.

He felt he could make some wonderful crafts with these tools the likes the village had never seen.

It was all accumulated in his head how science and nature meshed together to create wonderful technological feats.

Just thinking about what miraculous feats were capable thanks to his unprecedented awakening and mei vein growth.

The ideas rushed forth inside his mind, furthering his desire to remake some of the crafts from his past life.

Sooner rather than later he would become someone terrifying. The fact that a child had an already developed mind meant that they had all the time they needed to let their talents erupt.

So, time passed, and the bunker was remodeled into a larger living space for the entire village.

Klein himself had helped out the earth manipulators; while they undertook the arduous task of opening the ground for more space, Klein and his finer control along with his fater took the time to sculpt and make the space feel more lived in for comfort's sake.

The entire village was now moved underground: meat was procured from the dead beasts and meibeasts (more nutritious than its not elemental counterpart), some leftover crops were taken inside and grown with Klein's help, facilities were introduced, such as a bathing unit, restroom, and kitchen, and lastly, Klein took it upon himself to utilize a space of his own to bring his past self's curious nature into the embodiment of an Imeni scientist.
