Klein lived his days toiling about with his grubby little hands on the materials of the meibeasts.
Altogether there were bones, teeth, hides, and even some organs that he had at his disposal to craft with.
Meior oversaw his actions and confirmed that he was no less capable of doing what Klein was doing— even some of the things he saw were astonishing.
The villagers hardly needed any tools in their daily lives; their manipulation was aptly effective to provide what they needed.
They were farmers through and through, so the most they needed were farming related tools. In addition to that, the hunters had no chance of getting up close enough to any prey for there to be any weapons necessary.
Crude earth blades were used to skin any beasts, so clothing was provided with the mofei as well.
Klein thought this way of thinking was backwards; he knew not the ways of manipulation, only the use of tools to bring forth miracles.
The ones that dealt with the finer things in life seemed infinitely more magical than the prospects of mofei.
Take for example, surgery. This act was refined to the point where some hospitals relied on robotic equipment to save the lives of countless people.
In the field of engineering, the people of his past were on the brink of nanomachines that would revolutionize the future!
Machinery and tools were more reliable than people to Klein; they were only unreliable in the wrong hands.
He began with the items he figured the village needed most: hunting, farming, and building equipment.
For his own needs, he slaved over a table full of items that was prepared from the bodies of the beasts.
With his precise usage of manipulation, Klein transformed into a master craftsman; sharpening with earth mofei's hardness and polishing with water mofei, he turned teeth into blades.
Using said blades, they easily slid through any tough hides and made for the perfect carving tools.
After personally crafting his own equipment, namely a pair of daggers made from water infused teeth, a tunic made from earth infused hide, and a pair of air infused snakeskin boots.
With these, he would take his first steps into the great unknown that was the wilderness surrounding the village.
'Finally, a step up from bare-bones, barehandedness against these beasts."
Klein still had a surplus of materials on hand to craft with, but for the moment he was satisfied with what he had created.
He walked out of his room fully equipped and with a plan in mind: study the mofei.
---
"How goes the crafting, my little one?"
As soon as he left his room he was happy to see his mother's glowing smile; ever since his mei veins awakened, Meira had allowed her son to grow at his own pace.
Seeing as it was about time for his third birthday, the whole of the village could not believe the mind-boggling strength this child had in his possession.
Despite his tiny stature, Klein's feats outside the bunker were shared by Meior to no end whenever someone mentioned his son.
"I've managed well Mommy. I was just getting ready to leave in order to research the nature mofei," he said showing off his equipment.
'My word! Just how ambitious is this child of mine? I'll have to have another chat with Meior about him.'
"Just be safe," she hugged Klein tightly, "And make sure you don't venture too far out there; stay on the outskirts of the forest lest you pick a fight you can't win."
"Don't worry Mommy," Klein stood up straight and grasped his two daggers attached to his sides— his eyes trained into a killing glare— "It's the other things out there that should worry about me."
He was confident for two reasons: he was fully awakened at this point (his mei veins saturated to their fullest after circulating around for months) and the gear he had crafted were the best in the village.
He had tested out the durability of his tunic with his daggers and they could not pierce the lightweight material when he channeled earth mofei into it.
Even when he infused water mofei into the daggers, they tore through it slowly like cutting construction paper with dull scissors.
That being said, he was fully prepared to venture in the dangerous forest.
And on he went.
"Woah. Look at Klein!" "That looks so cool!" What is it? What is it?"
Walking out into the main expanse of the bunker that led up to the surface Klein was bombarded with a jumble of children older than him gawking at his equipment.
'These ignorant brats wouldn't know the first thing about it. Sigh. At least they aren't threatened by the fearsome beasts I might encounter.'
"I'm on an important mission, so out of the way! When I come back, I might just have another trick or two I can teach about the nature mofei I showed you all."
The group of kids was elated; they wished to immediately question his motives, but upon hearing his incentive they gave way.
It was not surprising. In the first place, they would be worse off just eating meat all the time; the introduction of the nature mofei to the underground garden was a life saver.
Seeing as Meior and the other adults were away at the time, Klein could only assume they were discussing important matters.
It was time to do his part and research more for the sake of the village.
