"Why is life so cruel?" Tessy asked and it almost felt like he could feel her pain. He went closer to her and sat on the bed. She sat up. "Why is it that the ones you care for are the ones who end up hurting you?" She asked and he shook his head.
"I don't know. I wish I knew then I'd answer you but believe me, I also want to know." He said and she leaned on him.
He stroked her head gently and broke the hug. There was something about her that attracted him. He thought it was just pity because of how pathetic she looked but it wasn't. He could tell it wasn't pity.
He subconsciously leaned in and kissed her on the lips. Tessy was too drunk to comprehend what was going on and just closed her eyes.
From there, she fell asleep. He saw that she was asleep and laid her gently on the bed. He kissed her on the forehead and left the room.
The next morning, Tessy woke up to a serious headache. Hangover from the drink last night. She looked at the unfamiliar room and wondered how she got there. That was when all that happened last night flashed through her memory.
She couldn't believe that she actually felt comfortable with a stranger's touch and thought that it might've been because she was drunk, but on remembering the kiss, she felt seriously offended.
She picked her phone and looked through the window. There the man was already leaving in the company of some people. She clenched her fists and rushed down.
Just before the man took a step into his car, she called out to him.
"Hey mister!"
As soon as he turned to see who it was, his face was met with her furious palm in a very heated slap.
Everyone around him was shocked. No one dared to slap their master and would get away scot free. They thought that this girl was definitely done for.
'I deserved that.' He thought. The last time a girl hit him was when he was seven and he totally deserved it. Now this girl, there was such a thing as coincidence, right? "Sorry." He said which shocked all of them more.
Instead of getting angry he apologized?
"Good you know." She said and kicked his leg. Another coincidence.
"Do you need my help getting home?" He asked, trying not to mind the pain from her kick. "Are you okay now?"
"Mind your own business. Hmph!" She turned and walked away. Now such a coincidence was rare. He didn't think too much of it at first and just smiled at the way she behaved. He turned to the totally shocked comrades.
"Let's go!" He said and everyone got into position and left.
Meanwhile, Luna and the rest were getting restless. They didn't hear from Tessy all through the night and she wasn't at Rain's place, so where could she have gone? Then she got a call from Tessy.
"Luna..."
"Mistress, where have you been? You got us all so worried."
"That's not important now." Tessy said. "I need you to start packing and tell the madam we're coming back to America. I want to start over again." Hearing this made Luna confused. Wasn't she happy here with Rain and Chad? Why was she leaving all of a sudden?
"Did something happen?" Luna asked.
"I..." She paused and bit on her lip. She needed someone to talk to and Luna was the only one available. "I'll tell you about it later." She said and then thought for a while. The whole situation got her thinking that something was not right at all. None of it made sense. "Luna, do one more thing for me."
Tessy had received countless calls and messages from Rain and Chad. She didn't want to reply to any of them and definitely didn't want to talk to them either. She was waiting for the surveillance video to finalize her thoughts.
"We've gotten it!" Luna said, bringing a laptop over.
"Show it to me." Tessy requested and Luna dropped the laptop before her. She watched carefully and then laughed. It wasn't a laughter of joy but rather of sadness. "It's not their fault indeed. I'm just not cut out for happiness. So the world tries everything to make sure I am not happy. Ha!"
Tessy told Luna what happened and even she found something suspicious about it. Watching the video now gave them the answer they needed.
In the video, there was a delivery man. He delivered the pizza Rain and Chad ate before they went unconscious and did what they did.
The pizza man met with some guys in black who were from the Lukeman family and paid him for delivering the drugged pizza.
All in all, it was clear that Mrs Lukeman set this thing up.
"I'm glad. I'm just glad that it was never their intention." She said to herself and Luna smiled. "Let's go."
They shut the doors and made to catch up with the rest of them that had gone to the airport. She took out her phone and sent a text to both Rain and Chad.
"Times we spent together were really cherishable. But as we all know, all good things must come to an end. I don't blame you. I know it was a setup but it still hurts. It's my destiny to live a messed up life anyway and the world had to use you two to make me more miserable. I'm leaving now, so we may never see each other again. I wish you two a very... very happy life."
