There was a suffocating silence. He did not utter a word either. His eyes darted from one person to another, wondering what was going through. We were like cats who were scared of a dog's presence in the room. We had no idea who it was going to bounce on first.

"What is going on here?" the king asked, with his hands clasped behind him. Was he holding a knife? Maybe he overheard us talking about him…he got angry and decided to kill us.

"W-we were…," Emily stared at the door. Percival leaned against it, watching us like a predator. "We were reading the list for… I mean the one her highness."

"Leave us alone," the king got tired of stammering. He walked to the window and stood there, waiting for them to leave. I wish they didn't. Why will they leave me with him?

Percival closed the door and walked to where the king was. He had a box in his hand. He offered it to the king, who urged me to come.
