"Whaddya just say?" Chris asked, they had stopped their disagreement when they heard Zane's statement.
"I said it's not everyday I meet the Juggernaut" Zane repeated. He couldn't understand what was so surprising about that.
"Where is the Juggernaut?" Chris narrowed his eyes.
"What the fuck is wrong with you Chris? he is right here" Zane pointed at John in annoyance.
"That's not the Juggernaut Zane" Chris said.
"Can you guys tell him" Zane said to the rest if the group.
"He is right Zane that's not him" Adam said.
Now Zane was surprised, Adam's tone didn't sound like someone joking around. Zane then took his attention back to John. He even walked around him with a hand on his chin.
John himself just stood there with a complicated expression.
Zane shook his head "No I am definitely One hundred percent sure that this man right here is the Juggernaut"
Zane was sure of it, the way this man's mana revolved around his whole body from his core and just the feel of his earth mana, this was definitely him.
Eventually John sighed "How did you know?"
"I can see your mana patterns" Zane said before biting his tongue straight after.
'I should really stop telling people my secrets' he thought.
At this moment everyone present except for Zane was shocked. John was shocked that Zane could see mana while the others were shocked that John admitted to being the Juggernaut.
"You can see mana?. How!?" John asked, his curiosity pouring out of his eyes.
Zane fell into thought, this was the first time anyone ever asked him how he could see mana. Actually if he thought about it more, he himself didn't know how.
Nothing special had happened the first time he had seen mana. That was when that physician gave his mother the mana pill. He just saw it, just like that, there wasn't any complicated explanation.
"I actually also don't know" Zane scratched the back of his head "I was born blind and the only thing I can see is mana" he tried to explain.
"Ohh, So you can see and use mana as a mortal" John the Juggernaut scratched his chin. Greed was evident in his eyes.
Zane felt the greed in John's voice "Only healing mana though" Zane quickly said.
"So you can easily heal yourself right?" John asked.
Zane was confused as to where John was heading with his questions "Yes i can easily heal myself" he answered.
"You are the Juggernaut!?" Adam exclaimed. The others had just snapped out of their daze.
Upon hearing his stage name, John was snapped out of his thoughts as he turned his attention to Adam.
"Yes I am the Juggernaut" He chuckled.
"But how?, you don't look anything like the Juggernaut" Adam said. It seemed this news shocked Adam even more than the rest. He was apparently a fan.
"He's a mage" Zane answered Adam's question with a smirk.
'This phrase really is an answer for everything' he thought.
"Although I am also excited about having the Juggernaut with us, we still have a mission to do so, let's get to it!" David said.
Everyone nodded as they left the city wall behind them. During the walk, John was bombarded with questions from Adam and Chris. Zane also wanted to ask how John used mana to reinforce his muscles but didn't get the chance to.
"What can you tell us about the White apes John?" David asked.
Adam and Chris had finally run out of questions for John.
"White apes are brute type mana beasts, meaning that they don't have elements or special other special abilities." John said.
Zane thought about it and realized that these apes where most probably weaker than the spiders. After all the spiders had super defense and their toxin while according to John, the White apes had nothing of the sort.
"However don't think they are weak because of this" John continued, making Zane throw his conjectures out the metaphorical window.
"Their strength comes in their intelligence and numbers. It is almost impossible to find a group of less than five apes. Their bodies are similar to humans, meaning that they can kick and punch like a human, coupled with their intelligence."
"They can also infuse mana into their bodies to become stronger and faster---"
"Like how you do it" Zane Interrupted.
John sighed, never did he think someone would figure out his secret that easily. In front of his fans he was the physically strongest mage in the city.
However, in front of Zane he was nothing more than a monkey impersonator.
He sighed once more "Yes that is how I get my strength Zane, could you not tell everyone?"
"Sure" Zane chuckled in embarrassment.
"The most dangerous part about the White apes is---"
"Rage mode" Chris said as he scratched his chin. The team was shell shocked. Chris thought of something important!?.
"If the apes are naturally as smart as you say, their rage mode is even smarter" Chris finished.
John nodded in agreement "I see you are the smart one Marksman. Yes you are correct, there have even been rumors of an ape in constant rage mode. Due to it being in this state it even learnt how to use weapons" he said.
The group all took a deep breath. They could only hope not to meet this always in-raged ape. If they do, they could only run.
No one questioned the credibility of John's claims. He had no reason to lie to them.
"What is the best way to fight them?" David asked.
"Marksman, what do you think would be the best way" John looked at 'Marksman' with a smile.
The others all tried to suppress their laughs, this was were Chris would be embarrassed in front of the Juggernaut. If only phones had been invented, they would be recording.
Chris scratched his chin in thought and Clara couldn't hold it anymore. She released a loud laugh which she quickly turned into an improvised cough. It was important to note that mages can never catch something like a cold.
"With what you said, these apes don't have ranged attacks. So the best and safest way to defeat them would be use our advantage, which are our ranged attacks."
"However the apes obviously wouldn't stand still while being attacked so we would need to hold them down somehow. Which is why the top two strongest mages in our group are of the earth element."
"While you and David hold them down we will wail on them with our strongest ranged attacks." Chris finished his speech.
Needless to say, the group was extremely shocked. This was Chris!?, this was the man who couldn't stop thinking about women and food?
"Correct once more Marksman. You know if you where a mage you would be the leader of this group" John said.
David, Adam, Clara, and Zane felt like their minds were playing tricks on them.
John then turned his attention to David "You know, I wondered why you would drag along a mortal with you. Now i understand, Marksman is the brains behind this whole operation"
David didn't even know what to think anymore, he could only sigh in defeat.
"Halt!" someone shouted in front on the groups path.
Zane snapped out if his shocked state to raise his head, only to see Five mana cores floating 50 meters in front of them.
