Love is a curse, love is weakness, love is the beginning of all evil." Khari said as he sat in his python cave looking at the world. A beautiful man he was, tall, refined, elegant yet so cold like the winters in the north. He had dark brown eyes and pale white skin from staying in the cave all his life. His hair was dark as the night and he didn't say much even though his voice was so deep and sexy it would turn the heads of many women. He was had stayed in the python cave since he was five years old. A sacrifice for love from love he liked to call it. As a child he never understood why his mother had picked him over his twin sister as the ultimate sacrifice to leave with the two pythons. He remembered the day she had gone and left him there. "This is for the good of everyone. The humans and the guardians we need you to keep our worlds safe." She had said to him as she left him at the entrance of the cave. She looked away without a single tear in her eyes as he remembered and even though he had called out to her she never looked back. For centuries she didn't look back, the woman who had left him to feed a drop of his immortal blood to the pythons so they wouldn't reek havoc in their world and the humans' realm. The young boy had feared them, got accustomed to them and they had eventually became his pets and companions. Still the barrier set couldn't come down. Khari had lived his life without any emotion and he didn't seem to be bothered by the fact that since his family had left him a guardian of two large deadly serpents they never came back.
Zuri the guardian mother of the supernatural and the humans was beautiful. She was the wife of the late king Khari the first. He had died in battle as they fought to keep away the demonic queen Jahzara. They had been victorious but he had lost his powers in shutting her away. Jahzara was kept away from both realms. However he had left his queen pregnant with the two twins. The eldest being Imani was to be heir to the throne Imani and Khari was to be her chief commander. To keep the seal on Jahzara's prison in power the queen made an ultimate sacrifice and put a stone heart on her son. "No woman will fall in love with him nor shall he ever love any woman. Has long as his heart shall remain cold so shall the seal on Jahzara's prison too." Zuri had cursed her son to never love or be loved to protect the two realms from her sister. It had been five years since the queen had lost her husband, five years of peace when Jahzara's pythons started terrorizing the two realms. Jahzara's pythons had been growing powerful with each guardian or human's blood so she decided to keep them at bay and locked her son in the cave with them so his interaction with humans or guardians would be less. Her heart broke as she left her son but she knew as the queen of the Guardians sacrifices had to be made. The gods had chosen her people and set them up in a different realm to protect the four corners of the world and keep demons in check. She had watched over the humans for thousands of years since her husband had died. There was peace amongst the humans and she felt at ease but what she didn't know was the son she had left in the cave was also growing his powers in that very cave.
