Nile took care of Khari for the days he wasn't feeling well. His wounds had healed in the days the Guardians were mourning the loss of their queen. The humans and other supernatural creatures had joined in mourning too. Khari saw the villagers had not opened the markets in the seven days and he found it to be ridiculous tradition. He walked out of the house to watch the festive in the streets only to find Nile chopping wood. He walked up to him and cleared his throat. Nile stopped chopping wood and stood up straight. He wasn't wearing a shirt on, he was so muscular that Khari couldn't stop staring at it. Sweat dripped from his face down his beautiful brown skinned neck to his chest. He had smooth skin and his hands were beautiful. He took a tiny band in his hand and tied up his dreads. Khari kept on staring at him tying his hair and he choked on himself. "Hmm, human boy…..Nile I mean. Are you not joining the festive?" He only asked to cover up his embarrassment. Nile just smiled because he had noticed how Khari had been admiring him with his eyes. "No, I don't believe in this crap. Guardians are just a crappy group of people who think they are better than everyone else just because they wear a little white and they have some say over our lives." He replied Khari whilst he put his shirt on. "At least he hates the white color too." Khari thought to himself. "I have to get going now, I wasted enough time here with you." He said rudely to Nile who just opened his huge beautiful eyes in shock. Khari couldn't stop looking at those huge eyes, it was something about him that he couldn't quite put together and it didn't sit well with him. He shook his head to remove the image and Nile smiled showing his white teeth. "Could you stop opening your eyes or smiling? I hate it!" Khari said to Nile annoyed. This made Nile open his eyes even wider. Khari rolled his eyes and disappeared into thin air leaving Nile confused. "Did I do something wrong?" He asked himself as he walked to his house shaking his head. "He is such a wierdo, a hot one I must say." He said to himself smiling.
Khari got outside his cave annoyed by the fact that he couldn't get Nile's eyes, smile and bare chest. He paced up and down outside his cave and constantly clicked his tongue. The two serpents walked out of the cave and found him pacing up and down, he hadn't even realized he wasn't wearing his robe. "Master are you alright?" Path asked her master. Khari stopped and turned. He looked at the two beautiful girls one with purple hair and the other with green hair. Their clothes was just like their hair. He instantly put two and two together. Pea! Path? This is you?" He asked frowning. The two girls smiled and rushed to hug him. He stood still and frozen whilst the two girls hugged him. He didn't know how to react, he was used to patting their heads and now they were humans. He didn't like people. "What happened to you?" He asked them whilst he was still struggling to get away from them. They finally let him go and he shrugged his shoulders in relief. "Nile, he is the one who helped us transform. He was here days ago and after he left we could transform back." Path explained to Khari who was infuriated. Nile again! This boy was getting on his last nerve. "Nile!" He gritted his teeth whilst saying his name, the two serpents looked at him confused. "If it's not him coming to disturb my peace, it's him turning my serpents into talking humans! Urgh! Then that smile of his, I can not stand! Oh, and those eyes!" He screamed annoyed by Nile. The two girls were still looking at him confused when Khari looked at himself and realized he was wearing a brown shirt. He clasped his two fists and screamed. "What the hell am I wearing!?" He screamed as he clapped his hands and his magic worked, he had his make up on and a beautiful long red shirt. "Now that's better. I need to and blow off some steam." He walked a few paces, stopped and turned back. "You two stay here. I will be right back." He said to his serpents who just nodded their heads as they watched him disappear. "I don't think he likes Nile very much." Pea who was naïve said. "He doesn't like everyone Pea." Path said to her sister whilst she pulled her hand back into the cave. "Come let us go eat that rabbit meat we caught." Path said to Pea who instantly forgot all about the world and rushed back to the cave.
Khari picked twelve humans in the human world and took them at the Lotus tower that was built by the humans in honor of the Guardians' Lotus valley. It was the highest point in Marci kingdom. He aligned them at the edge of the wall. He began to walk slowly counting their numbers. The humans were scared out of their wits and this was hilarious to him. He looked at his nails and they were not painted. He went and stood next to a female human showing her his nails. "They don't look so good don't you think?" He asked her frowning. His voice was deep and beautiful. The woman stammered and he put his ear close to her mouth. "Oh I really can't hear you darling. What are you saying?" He asked the female human who started to cry. "Oh, no I do not like tears. So what color should we paint them?" He asked her with his sexy deep voice with a smirk on his face. "Bla..ck. I thi..nk black." She replied stammering. Khari rolled his eyes and frowned. "Urgh, everyone knows I hate black." He said pushing the woman off the tower. She fell screaming and everyone on the tower began crying in fear. He looked at them shocked and then back to his nails. He clapped his hands and his nails turned black. "Oh, my, black does look good on my nails. Oops I shouldn't have pushed her down, she knew her game." He said to himself and he began showing his nails off to his victims who were just whimpering in fear.
Khari stood behind the first human being and he began whistling his mother's lullaby. He was acting as if he was teaching an orchestra band as he whistled. "My mother used to sing this song to me and my sister as children. Let me sing it for you." He told the humans. His eyes had red eyes shadow and his eyebrows were nicely done. He had his hair tied backwards and left two strands of hair hanging. He began dancing to his whistling and then he later started putting words. "Love is sweet, love is passion, love is beautiful
For my babies are love, for they bring the love
To the world, my world is beautiful so is yours."
He stopped singing and shrugged his shoulders. "No it is not complete without my sister. Why don't we invite her over?" He asked the unwilling participants. He ran behind the humans and stood back at the first one. "Oh sissy! Or Imani come and play out here with me!" He called out to the skies. He stopped. "Oh I had forgotten she is queen now and she might not have time to play with me. Then why don't I make her come." He said with an evil smile on his face as he stretched his hands. He walked closer to the first human and he pushed him down as if he was opening a door. "Oops, I must have dropped a human." He said as he went on and pushed the second one like he did the first. He pushed down the third and the fourth and the fifth and the sixth. When he was about to push the seventh Imani showed up. "What do want Khari?" She asked her brother who put his hand back to himself. "And she came." He said as he bowed at her with his hands behind his back. He stood up and faced his sister who was dressed in her royal white robes, she tied her hair just like their mother and he closed his eyes shunning the white color on her. He really didn't like the color white. "I came, can you say what you have to say so I can go back to my people." She spat at her brother angrily. She couldn't do anything to him because it was the last day of mourning. He smiled and started playing with the strand of hair on his left side. "Oh I just wanted to pay my condolences and also pay my respects to the new queen whom I look forward to killing again." He mocked his sister. Imani bit her lip inside trying to hold her anger. "I will kill you Khari, I will kill your little serpents too." She promised him and he just stared at her frowning. "Well I can't wait sissy." He said as he walked at the edge of the tower. He turned and looked at her, blew her a kiss and fell off the tower with his back facing down. Imani looked at him and she clicked her tongue before helping the remaining four humans off the edge.
Khari found himself back at Nile's house. He walked in the yard and found Nile cutting meat about to make himself a meal. He stood a bit further watching him work. He still didn't know why he was back here again when all he felt was annoyance whenever this young man was around him. He leaned on the tree close to the gate with his hands folded. He was staring at Nile with his lips pouted like an irritated small child. Nile carried on with cutting the meat. "Are you just going to stand there and watch me?" Nile asked Khari without even lifting hid head up. Khari looked around him and Nile just chuckled. He stood up and walked to Khari. "I don't see anyone here but you Khari." He addressed him with his full name, Khari looked at him surprised. "Damn those two serpents, now that they can talk they just spew nonsense." He said in his head and looked sternly at Nile. "How did you..? Well, guess you made those two snakes too happy to even reveal my name to you." He commented sarcastically. Nile smiled. "Do you want to stay for supper? I am making wild meat." He said to Khari ignoring his sarcastic reaction. Khari bit his upper lip, it was damn sexy and Nile just looked away smiling. Khari put the tip of his tongue out still thinking if he should accept the offer. He did this all unintentional but it was torture for Nile who found it so seductive and sexy. Nile couldn't take it no more so he grabbed Khari's hand and said. "C'mon now, I know you want to." He walked back to where he was sitting and handed Khari a stool. Khari looked at Nile puzzled but the human held his shoulders and forced him to sit on the stool. Khari sat with his legs folded like he was on a fancy seat. Nile began throwing the meat in the pot whilst staring at Khari with a huge smile on his face. Khari didn't quite understand why this boy's smile disturbed him the way it did and he didn't understand why when he grabbed his hand it was different.
As they sat outside waiting for the rice to simmer Nile came with a wooden cup and handed it to Khari. Khari hesitantly took it and he looked inside the cup then back to Nile. "It is wine Khari and it is not poisoned too." He teased him and Khari just looked at him. He took his cup and sat opposite him drinking his wine. He looked at Khari who was still smelling the scent of the wine. He liked that he didn't have any experience with the world and even though he was human he felt the need to protect this man. Nile just chuckled and put his head down. Khari drank the wine slowly and he liked the sweetness and the tanginess that came from it. As he took his second sip two human figures appeared in the yard. He stopped drinking and looked at the two sisters. "You couldn't stay away could you, huh?" Khari asked Pea and Path. Nile hadn't figured out that the two serpents could transform so he kept looking at the two girls confused. Pea went and straight on the other side of the table whilst Path sat next to her too. Nile started putting two and two together. "You have feet! How are you human?" He asked the two serpents curiously. Khari rolled his eyes at him. "If it wasn't you and your interference in my world I'd still have my two beautiful cold snakes." He spat at Nile who laughed at him. "Oh I know you just shy to admit you wanted them to be able to transform so you can have someone to talk to properly." He teased him back, Khari just stared at Nile. Path looked at Khari and then at Nile but she didn't say anything. "So do you two lovely ladies have names?" Nile asked the two serpents almost flirty. He reached out and held Pea's hand who blushed and Khari rolled his eyes. "Well I am Pea and my sister is Path. You know master named us." She explained to him excited. Nile smiled at her whilst looking at Khari. "Why those names?" He asked him but Khari didn't reply him. Nile smiled and he kissed Pea's hand. "Well my lady it is my pleasure meeting you. Would like to help me prepare the food for us?" He asked Pea who instantly nodded her head. Nile had picked that Pea was like a child at heart, naïve but very fond of Khari. Path was more confident and guarded. She seemed fierce as a human just like she was as a serpent. Nile and Pea went to the kitchen and Khari didn't move his eyes from him until he couldn't see him. Path looked at Khari quietly and when Khari noticed her looking at him, he didn't say a word. It was weird to have his serpents looking like humans. Pea and Nil came back with the food.
They sat down and they began eating food whilst drinking wine. Nile and Khari would steal glances in between and hide it. Nile knew he was attracted to Khari but Khari wanted to know why he felt so weird around him but it was a weird he wanted to feel all the time. He leaned back and had his back rested on the wall with his eyes closed feeling the cold wind blow on his face. Nile watched him close his eyes and he just smiled before going inside. Path followed him inside, she stood next to him. "You like my master?" She asked him directly, Nile choked and looked at Path. He couldn't say anything to her. "Path, I think he is..."He couldn't even say anything, she had just came out like that to him. "He is not like anyone you know." She wanted to explain to him but Nile held her hand and this took her by surprise. "I know about the curse, stories were told about him being cursed to keep you and your sister locked up. I know he can never return these feelings too because he can never feel it besides we men and it is not very simple." He replied her, she could feel his voice almost cracking. "I don't intend to act on these feeling Path." He further explained to her. He took the more wine and walked outside to join Pea and Khari. Path watched him walk out. "But I wish you could act on those feelings and just maybe like you freed us, you'd free him too." She said to herself. She followed him outside, sat next to him and they began to drink. Path and Nile just looked at each other awkwardly Khari noticed it. Path grabbed her sister's hand. "We should get going now! Master please have a good sleep and you too Nile." She said as she grabbed her sister out. Pea pulled her hand away and stood there complaining. "Why? I haven't seen master in days and I want to leave with him!" She threw a tantrum but Path took her hand back and said. "No, master needs to stay here for another night and rest." Pea didn't want to go and Khari stood up. "I will leave with you." He said calmly. Pea nodded her head happily but Path hit her hand and pulled right next to her. "No, you stay here. We are leaving now!" She said to Khari and she disappeared with her sister leaving Khari confused. Nile just sat there drinking his wine avoiding questions from Khari. "I am taking the bed and you are taking the floor." He said to Nile as he walked inside the house.
